TW: Assassination

Sofiya was going to leave you alone for an hour. You had begged and pleaded so she could let you do some shopping alone since you were always accompanied by her men. She laughed when you suggested the idea, thinking it was a joke. When she realized how serious you were, she spent some time thinking about it. With everyone wanting a way to get back at her, she always feared someone would hurt you. The idea of leaving you alone was unthinkable but she always had a hard time telling you no.

After establishing protocols and making sure you knew she was one call away, she left you to do some shopping at the mall. You had her card and extra cash along with several men and women around the mall to take care of you. You were still being watched, you just didn't know it.

30 minutes hadn't even passed when she got a call from one of her men to let her know what had happened. It wasn't even one of her enemies that had assaulted you. It was a stranger that had unfortunately set his sights on you. With your safety being their number one priority, they all rushed to your aid.

"Not a single one of them went after him?"

Sofiya wanted to be mad but she couldn't. Her men had kept you safe and that's what mattered. Payback could wait another day.

"No ma'am. The man had a knife. He managed to hit the side of her stomach so we all hurried to stop the bleeding and call for help."

"Do not let her out of your sight. I'll be there in a few minutes."

"Yes Captain."

She hung up and hurried her driver to take her to the hospital.

She's relieved to see that you're okay. A little pale and a hole in your stomach but you would be alright.

"Sofi, what are you doing here?"

Sofiya takes a seat besides you and takes your hand in hers. She presses a kiss to the back of your hand before answering.

"You got hurt. Where else would I be?"

You started to laugh but stopped when it started to hurt.

"You had a business meeting. Didn't they tell you that I'm fine?"

"Already taken care of and they did. Being by your side is more important than anything else. I needed to make sure that you were okay. I trust him but I had to see you with my own eyes."

"Oh, Sofi."

"I'm going to find who did this and make him pay."

After being with Sofiya for so long, you knew exactly what she meant. The man wouldn't live for another day when she got ahold of him. He was a dead man the moment he laid his eyes on you.

"Sure, love. Right now, I need you to get me a pastry from the cafeteria."

Sofiya wouldn't take orders from anyone but you. She got up without a word and leaned down to press a kiss on top of your head before leaving.

Sofiya would spend all her time with you at the hospital. At least when you were awake, when you fell asleep, you had a feeling she was tracking the man down. You tried to get answers but she always managed to be in the room when you woke up.

It's the night before you're set to be released when she slips up. You had woken up in the middle of the night to find one of her men in the room instead of her.

"Please! I'm sorry! I didn't know! I have a family! I'll give back everything!"

Balalaika took a long drag of the cigar before blowing the smoke in the man's face. She smiled when he started to cough at the strong scent of the tobacco. She was getting tired of his begging.

"It doesn't feel good to be on that end, does it?"

"P...please. I'm sorry."

She knew that the man wasn't sorry. He was only sorry because he didn't want to die. It was always sad to see just how pathetic someone could get to beg for their life.

"Sorry isn't enough. You know what will be?"

Seeing the slight hope in his eyes made her laugh.

"I'll do anything!"

"Your life."

Balalaika doesn't even flinch at the loud shot. Blood splatters on her hand and she simply wipes it away. Without sparing him a glance, she tosses her cigar at him and makes her way back to her car to pick you up.

You were pouting when Sofiya got out of the car.

"Where were you? I was waiting for hours."

Your guard simply shook his head, making Sofiya laugh. You always had a habit of being dramatic.

"I'm sorry, darling. I was just a little caught up with some business. It's all taken care of now so I'm all yours for the next couple of days."

"Lets go home then!"
