It wasn't difficult to find the man that attempted to kill the love of your life. It helped that it been reported over and over again when people learned that Misa had almost died. What didn't help was that without sufficient evidence, they let the man go free.

Fans harassed the man to the point that he had to have police escort at all times but that didn't stop you from planning his death. He had almost taken away the love of your life and you couldn't forgive him for that. Anyone that threatened Misa's life did not deserve to live.

Covering his mouth, you held the knife to his neck as he attempted to get out of your hold.

"It's okay. Calm down. I just want to talk. You'll hurt yourself if you keep struggling." It takes a little longer to coax the man to calm down but eventually he does. He's still tense as you still hold the knife to his neck. "I'm going to take my hand off of your mouth and if you scream, I won't hesitate to slit your throat. Do you understand?"

When he nods, you take your hand off his mouth.

"Please. I'll do anything you want. Just don't hurt me."

You gripped his hair and pulled his head back so he could look at you.

"Do you think I could hurt someone?"

He takes a second to answer, only shaking his head

"N...no. You seem kind."

"You think so? Is it my hairstyle? Is that what makes me look innocent?" He nods, making you laugh. "It doesn't remind you of anyone?"

It's hard to think with the knife against his throat so it takes him a minute to realize why the hairstyle seemed to be important.

"It..it reminds me of Misa."

"Ah. I'm glad you remember. Makes it easier for me then." You cover his mouth as you prick his neck, drawing a little bit of blood. "Misa was so afraid when you tried to kill her. I imagine she felt like how you're feeling. Alone, scared, and confused. Is that how you're feeling?"

"Yes!"

He yells when you pull on his hair to force him to answer.

"Good. I wanted to do this for so long but never had to opportunity. Misa just returned to the city and I want to make sure that she knows it's safe to be back. I hope you burn in hell."

Just as he's about to scream for help, you slit his throat.

Misa stared at the tv screen, unable to believe that the one who almost killed her was finally dead. With the news of his death, she felt a lot safer in the city.

"Someone actually hunted him down."

"It appears so. Perhaps it was a fan?"

"Maybe. I need to find them Rem. I need to thank them for giving me back my piece."

"You wish to find whoever killed him?"

"I do. Do you think you could help me?"

"What if they're dangerous, Misa?"

"I don't think they'll hurt me if they went through the trouble of killing him. Please, Rem. Will you help me?"

"I will do my best."

With Rem at her side, it didn't take long for Misa to find you.

When her eyes land on you, she runs to hug you.

"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!"

You're smiling like an idiot when you realize who was hugging you. You didn't expect for her to know it was you who had killed the man but it was a nice surprise.

"Ms. Amane, it was nothing. He needed to pay for what he had done to your parents."

"It wasn't nothing. This was the ultimate act of love."

As she stepped back, you rubbed the back of your neck, feeling shy to be standing before her. After dreaming of meeting her for so long, she was finally standing in front of you.

"I'm a big fan."

"A fan wouldn't go through the trouble of killing someone for me. You love me, don't you."

You couldn't lie to her even if you wanted to.

"I do."

She cups your cheeks and pulls you in for a deep kiss.

"Good. Because I love you too."

Misa didn't care that she had barely met you. What you had done was enough to make her fall in love with you. You were her hero and she knew she could never fall in love with someone else. No one else would ever come close to prove their love for her.

After Misa found you, she did everything she could to keep you safe. Anyone that had been at the crime scene was written in her death note. Those that had been in charge of handling the evidence had been forced to destroy it and then kill themselves. With people dying left and right, no one wanted to pick up the case. Eventually due to the lack of any evidence and police officers willing to investigate what had happened, the case was closed.

"You're free! The police are no longer investigating you! We can finally go out without worrying that they'll arrest you."

She jumps into you arms, laughing when you spin her around.

"I can't thank you enough, Misa. You're seriously the best thing that has ever happened to me."

"And you're the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love you, (y/n), with my entire soul and body."

"And I love you Misa Amane. There are no words to express how in love I am with you."
