(Akame Ga Kill)

Esdeath wasn't going easy on you. The two of you were leagues apart and yet she still trained with you like if you were at her level. You could still defend yourself from her attack but more than often, you found yourself either slammed against the ground or wall. It never bothered you to be beaten because it made you want to push yourself harder but the lack of any progress was getting to you.

"I can't do it! I can't! Let me go!"

Esdeath's eyes widen in surprise at your sudden yelling. She had just slammed you against the wall to win yet another round.

"(y/n), are you alright? You've neve..."

"No! I'm not alright! I don't see a point to this. I'm never going to be as skilled as you. We've been training for almost a year and I haven't improved. I always lose."

You turned around and started to make your way back to your room when Esdeath stopped you.

"But you have improved, (y/n). A year ago and you could barely last a minute when we trained. A year later and you're able to last much longer. The reason that I don't take it easy on you is because I know that you're capable of dealing with my blows. If it was anyone else fighting against me, they would've ran the moment that I knocked them down."

"I'm still not strong enough. I would get killed the minute that I attempt to fight against Night Raid. I don't know why you're even dating me. I'm not as strong as you. I have nothing to offer. I'm just a burden that drags you down."

Esdeath makes her way over to you, placing a hand on your waist as she uses the other to make you look up at her.

"Don't ever talk about yourself like that. You're not a burden. You might not be as strong as me but that's okay. You're absolutely perfect for me. You fit all the requirements that I asked for when I was first looking for a lover."

"But I want to exceed your expectations and requirements. I don't want to be weak. I want to be able to protect you too..."

She leans down to give you a soft kiss to shut you up.

"But you're not weak. You might not be able to knock me down but you can certainly take on at least half of my army."

"You really think I can take half of your army?"

"I certainly think so. You're getting better and better at each training session. There's no doubt in my mind that you might even surpass me."

"Now you're just exaggerating things. I don't think I could ever surpass you. You've been fighting your whole life and I just started a few years ago."

"Maybe but that's okay. I like being able to have you on your back."

"Esdeath!"

She laughs when she notices how flustered you get.

"It's the truth. Are you ready for another round or do you want to end our session for today?"

You took a step back, pulling out your sword to get in your ready stance.

"Lets go another round."
