(The Quintessential Quintuplets)

AN: Never seen the anime or read the manga so it might be entirely wrong.

You could feel Nino glaring daggers at you but you paid her no attention. You were being paid to tutor them, not to make them like you. You paid attention to the rest of the quintuplets, answering any questions that they had or explaining a particular problem that they all had trouble with.

"Nino, you seem to be doing well. You don't have any questions?"

"No. I don't need your helps. It's pointless for you to even be here. I don't even know why father hired you. I can tutor my sisters."

"I don't doubt that you can but.."

"But nothing. I don't need your help so don't bother giving it to me. Just focus on my sisters, they're the one that need it."

Someone else calls for your help so you don't reply. You're not bothered by her cold attitude, you were still getting paid. One less student to tutor gave you the opportunity to focus on the others.

Nino glared at the low grade on her paper as everyone talked about the high grade they had managed to get.

"Nino? What did you get?"

You ask when you notice that she doesn't bother to talk about it. You had gotten used to shoving her high grades in your face.

"Doesn't matter. It's not your problem."

You turn to the others, giving them the task of teaching each other the problems that they had gotten correctly while the rest had missed. With them occupied, you made your way over to Nino.

"It's okay to ask for help, you know. I'm here to tutor all of you."

Nino swipes the paper off of the table and crumples it in her hands.

"I told you that I don't need your help. I'm fine on my own."

You nod and make your way back to the others. If she didn't want your help then you weren't going to force her to accept it.

You're surprised to receive a text message from Nino about needing private lessons. The last thing you had expected was for her to actually approach you for her.

"Don't get too cocky. Father told me that I need to get my grades up or else he'll take away my allowance. I just need you to help me pass this quiz."

You nod and take out all your materials to help her study.

"That's alright. Lets get started then."

"You're not going to make fun of me or mock me?"

"Why would I do that? You asked for help and I'm not going to make fun of you for doing so. I'm glad you asked for help."

"You're a strange person."

You roll your eyes and start the lesson.

Nino didn't ask for anymore private lessons after that but she started joining the others during your tutoring sessions. You never commented about it and she didn't say anything. The two of you were just content with coming to a truce about tutoring.

You often caught her staring at you but you didn't think anything of it, you were just happy that she stopped glaring at you.

"Do you think you could stay a little longer to help me with some of these problems?"

You give her a smile and nod. She does a bad job at attempting to hide her smile.

"I don't mind. I'm more than happy to help you out."

From then on, Nino would have you stay every other day to give her private tutoring. You found it strange considering that some of the stuff that she asked you about, you could see that she understood it.

"Nino, I don't mind giving you private lessons but I'm curious as to why you want me to explain concepts that you already understand."

She stops writing, refusing to look up as she thinks about what to say.

"I have no idea what you're talking about. I just don't understand these concepts and I need you to explain them."

"Nino..."

She sighs and finally looks up at you.

"I just wanted to hang out with you. I didn't think you would want to spend time with me after the way I treated you."

"Nino, I like you. There's no reason for us to waste our time on things that you already understand. Next time, just tell me that you want to hang out."

"Can we watch a movie then?"

"I'd love to."

The two of you got closer with the more time that you spent with each other. Both of you genuinely enjoyed spending time with each other and it was obvious to everyone that the two of you had developed feelings for one another. Nino's sisters had cornered her one day and had her confess about your crush on you.

"You need to tell her! She obviously likes you, Nino."

"No way! I'm not going to tell her. We're just friends?"

"Friends don't spend hours on the couch and cuddling with each other."

"Shut up! We're just friends. She doesn't like me like that so I'm not going to tell (y/n) anything."

You had just arrived for another tutoring lesson when you heard your name.

"Tell me what?"

Nino froze, terrified that you had heard their conversation. Taking pity on her, her sisters decided to answer for her.

"That Nino likes you and wants to take you out on a date."

You can't help but smile at their answer.

"Is that true, Nino?"

"No! You're my friend."

She quickly answers, hoping you wouldn't listen to them.

"Really? That's a shame because I would've loved to go on a date with you."

"I was just kidding!"

You laugh and make your way over to kiss her cheek.

"You're lucky that you're so cute. I like you too and I accept your invitation to go on a date with you."
