(Jujutsu Kaisen)

Nobara struggled to hold back her tears as (baby's name) begin to cry just as she began to hold her. She whispered reassurances and gently rocked her in hopes to get her to stop but it wouldn't work. You had already fed her and changed her diaper so it wasn't like the baby needed anything.

"(y/n), she won't stop crying. I..I don't know what they want."

You take (baby's name) from her and she immediately stops crying. You hadn't even done anything for her to just stop.

"Huh, that's...."

"Sorry, I think Gojo needs me."

"Nobara, wait."

Nobara places a finger against her lips and points to (baby's name).

'I'll be back soon. It won't take long.'

She mouths to you and then heads out of the house. You didn't chase after her, knowing that Nobara just needed some time. You knew she was on the verge of crying but there was nothing you could say to make her feel better. You had attempted previously several times but she didn't believe a word that you said. It was kind of hard to believe that she was a good mother when (baby's name) would cry as soon as Nobara carried them in her arms.

"Nobara? What are you doing here?" Maki arrived to find Nobara laying face down on her bed. Her face was buried in the pillow, making it hard for Maki to understand what she was saying. "Turn around and talk to me. I can't hear a word you're saying."

Nobara turns arounds to lay on her back. She interlocks her fingers as she twiddles her thumbs.

"You were right. I'm not fit to be a mother."

"What the hell are you talking about, Nobara?"

Maki actually stops organizing her weapons to look at her friend.

"(baby name) hates me. She starts to cry as soon as she's in my arms. I heard babies are like dogs, rather than bark, they cry when they don't like someone because of their presence."

Rather than say anything, Maki just grabs a pillow from her chair and hits her straight in the face.

"Are you even listening to yourself?" Maki asks before Nobara had a chance to start yelling at her. "How can you compare babies to dogs? I don't know where you could've read that garbage but I suggest you stop reading it. You know I was just joking about you not being fit for being a mother. I was just being an asshole because I didn't want you to leave me alone with the boys. I didn't really mean it."

"But it's true. How do you explain the fact that (baby name) always cries when I hold her?"

"Does she cry when you change her diapers? When you feed her? When you play around with her? What exactly is (baby's name) doing when you pick her up?"

Nobara takes a second to think about they could've been doing.

"Well they're usually sleeping..."

She gets quiet as she answers, suddenly feeling like an idiot.

"I don't have to say anything, right? You realize your mistake."

"Not a word to this about anyone."

"As long as you come train with me then I'll keep my mouth shut."

"Deal."

Speeding through the city, Nobara arrives to find you running around the house in search of something.

"(y/n)?"

"Nobara! Thank god. Have you seen my briefcase?"

"You left it in our room. Are you heading out?"

"Yes, I have a work emergency to deal with. (baby's name) is in their playpen. I'll be back as soon as I can."

You kiss her cheek and rush out the door. With you gone, Nobara makes her way over to (baby's name).

"Guess it'll just be me and you for a while."

Rather than hearing the cries of (baby name), the house was quiet. The only light on was the hallway and that meant Nobara was in your shared bedroom. You quickly take off your coat and shoes at the door and make your way to the room. The sight you arrive to is a pleasant surprise. On your bed was Nobara sleeping besides (baby name). You pull out your phone and snap a pic of the two of them. Once you make it your wallpaper, you change into your pajamas and lean down to kiss Nobara's cheek.

"I told you they loved you."

You whispered to her before making your way over to your side of the bed. As quietly as possible, you climbed onto the bed and fell asleep with a smile.
