You turned a blind eye to all the signs that Noelle had shown that she had fallen for another. You loved her and you believed that her love for Asta was nothing more than a crush. You were her one true love and her feelings for Asta would eventually fade away.

Days turned to week and not once did Noelle's feelings for Asta falter. They somehow grew stronger and it was quite obvious to everyone that she no longer loved you. Your friends attempted to get you to end the relationship but you refused. The two of you had made a promise to each other and you weren't going to break it. Noelle might have developed feelings for someone else but she was still faithful to you. She hadn't cheated so there was no reason to break up with her.

"(y/n)! You can't just pretend that you didn't hear what we told you. Noelle cheated on you! You need to break up with her. Why do you insist on being with her?"

You gave her a sad smile. Even if you explained it to her, she wouldn't understand. No one would understand your reasoning.

"You're not going to understand. There's no point in telling you. Shouldn't you be happy that I'm happy? I'm happy with my relationship with Noelle. There's on reason for us to ruin things."

"Are you listening to yourself?! What has gotten into you, (y/n)? Noelle doesn't love you anymore. Break things off with her. I know you'll find happiness with someone else."

With a sigh, you stand and make your way to the door.

"I don't need to listen to this. If you're not going to be supportive of my relationship then I'm leaving."

"Fine! Do whatever you want but don't come crawling to me when you realize how stupid you are for staying with her."

Noelle had stopped initiating anything with you but you still stuck around. She still kissed you when you kissed her. She still hugged you back when you hugged her. She still told you she loved you back when you told her that you loved her. As long as she didn't stop doing those things, you were content with what was happening.

You arrived home to find them kissing. Your heart didn't break, you felt nothing as Asta kissed the love of your life. You knew she had and was cheating on you so you expected to eventually find her cheating on you.

"(y/n)! I can explain. I..."

"I'm going to leave and when I come back, I want him gone."

You give the two of them a smile and head back out to the town.

When you come back, you pretend as if you hadn't caught her cheating on you. You kissed her and began to prepare dinner for the two of you.

"(y/n), can we talk about what happened?"

"There's nothing to talk about, Noelle. I didn't see anything."

"But you..."

"I didn't see anything, Noelle. Lets not ruin dinner by starting a fight, okay?"

Noelle nods and helps set up the table. She didn't know what was going on but she was willing to play along if that meant it would keep you happy.

"Yes, (y/n)?"

"Don't ever bring him to our home. Do you understand? I don't care what you do outside of it but don't bring it here."

"I understand."

Noelle understand perfectly. You were okay with what she was doing so long as you didn't see it. She couldn't understand why you were okay with what she was doing but she wasn't going to question it. Her heart couldn't settle for just one person, it just had to settle for you and Asta.
