(Seraph of the End)

Guren was taken by surprise as you held your sword up to his neck. You were fine just a second ago but now your eyes were completely black with your sword lightening up as if you were going to attack.

"(y/n), what the hell is going on? Get the fuck off of me."

He attempts to push you off but you don't budge.

"I suggest you don't move or my hand might slip."

He doesn't listen to your warning as he attempts to reach for his katana. You quickly move to slice his head off but he stops you with his bare hands.

"Are you mad!? What the hell are you doing?!"

He grits his teeth as you push harder on his hands. He needed to think of something quickly before it was too late. He wasn't sure what was going on but he had a vague idea that this was Mahiru's doing. She had been whispering to him whenever he was alone but he never paid her any attention.

"You took her away from me! She's mine, Guren!"

Seeing that you were getting nowhere, you pull back and attempt to slice through him. He's able to be quick enough to pull out his sword and stop you.

"You're making a mistake, (y/n). Stand down before you regret this."

You were his best friend, he didn't want to hurt you but he would if you wouldn't stand down. He had always known about Mahiru's obsession but never considered it to be dangerous. After Mahiru had been sealed in his cursed gear, he stopped considering her a threat. He should've known she was up to something.

"Mahiru is mine! Give her back."

You attacked and Guren continued to block as he tried to snap you out of your trance. With you being possessed, your stamina was much higher than his. Mahiru was no longer cooperating and his physical abilities had decreased.

"You've left me no choice!" He pulls out something from his pocket but doesn't have enough time to use it. He hadn't been fast enough to block your slash. He laughs as he falls to his knees. He thought his last attack would've given him enough time to prepare a spell but you had somehow gotten faster. "You really couldn't let her go, Mahiru."

You bend down to grab his sword, making your eyes turn red.

"You never listened to me, Guren. I tried telling you what I was going to do but you ignored me. You could've saved your friend but you were too busy with other matters to care. You got careless."

"You're sealed in my katana. You can never be with her." He spits his blood at your shoes and lets his body rest against a wall. "Her demon hates you. It's just a matter of time before you finally cease to exist."

In your body, Mahiru bends down to cup his cheek and leans in to kiss him. Guren can't push her off but he bites your lip. Mahiru laughs as she pulls back and licks the blood from your lip. If you or your demon even had an ounce of control of your body, you would've fought hard to stop her from kissing him. Since you hadn't stopped her, she was fully in control.

"They're gone. (y/n) is all mine to do as a please. With her help, I can get come back to be with her."

He lets out a sound that almost sounds like a growl as he lunges for your possessed body. Instead of tackling you, he manages to get a boot to his chest.

"They'll kill her before you even step a foot in there!"

"Don't worry, Guren. I'll keep her safe. I wouldn't want for her to die before I get a chance to be with her."

He struggles to get you off of him, making Mahiru laugh.

"(y/n) will never be with you. She hates you. She never loved you and never will. You're crazy if you think that she'll ever agree to be with you. You betrayed humanity."

"I did it to keep her safe. Everything I did was to keep her safe. When I come back, her memories will be replaced with happy ones. Ones where we were together." She holds your sword to his neck. "and ones where you never existed."

She doesn't bother to wait for his last breath as she heads back to tell everyone about the tragedy that occurred.

You let your head rest on Mahiru's chest as she played with her hair. It had taken her a year to achieve her goal but it had been worth it. You were finally hers and no one was in the way between the two of you.

"Say it again, (y/n)."

"I love you Mahiru, forever and always."

You say without hesitance.
