(Attack on Titan)

AN: Spoilers for season 3

The guilt from keeping your secret from Mikasa kept eating at you. It had been 3 years since the two of you started to date and almost a year of being engaged. You wouldn't be able to marry her if you never came clean about it. The possibility of Mikasa breaking off the engagement was very real considering how you kept it from everyone when you could've been using it to help Eren and the others.

"I never meant to keep this from you for so long but I don't think I'll be okay to marry you with this big of a secret in the back of my mind."

"(y/n), you're scaring me. What's going on?"

She cupped your cheek and caressed it with her thumb while she searched your eyes. Your heart was racing and it was impossible to make eye contact with her.

"I'm a titan shifter like Eren."

Mikasa stares at you for a second and then gives you an amused smile

"Are you telling me this because I've been spending more time taking care of Eren?" She stops smiling when she realizes that you're actually being serious. "You kept this from everyone! You kept this from the Survey Corp when you could've used it to help us." She grips your shirt with both hands as she looks at you with tears in her eyes. "So many countless of deaths that you could've prevented..."

"You think that I don't know that! I know I shouldn't have kept this from everyone but I had no choice."

"No choice!? How could you not have a choice?! Eren has a choice and he chooses to use it to help us! Why didn't you ever use it?"

"Mikasa! Listen to me! I'm like Bertholdt. I destroy everything around my immediate range when I turn. It's not something that I can use because I could hurt the other Scouts. I hate that I can't do anything to help."

"We need to tell Hange and the others. With you and Eren, we'll be able to reach the cellar. This will give us a chance to win if Reiner and Bertholdt are waiting for us back home."

"I..I've never used this power. I don't know how to control it."

She grips the collar of your shirt, pulling you close to her.

"I know you and I know you'll be able to control it. Eren did and so will you."

Everyone was shocked to have another titan-shifter among the ranks. They didn't trust you at first, believing that you were a traitor. Mikasa, Eren and Armin defended you. Kept saying that you had never given them a reason to believe otherwise and so the Commander and the others decided to trust you. If you betrayed the Scouts, the trio would take the blame.

"It's just another mission except you'll be able to turn into a Titan."

"Mikasa, I don't know if I can do this. I'll screw it up."

"You won't. We've trained for this. I'll be behind you like always. I trust you so trust in yourself. We'll win this and then go back home and get married, okay?"

"Okay, please stay safe."

She gives you a small smile before kissing you.

"Always. I'll see you soon."

Mikasa takes off, joining Eren and the others to reach the hole.

Your eyes widen when you hear Mikasa cry out in pain. She's at the bottom of the wall, practically unable to move from the shock of the explosion. You didn't know what had happened but it didn't matter. Without telling Commander Erwin, you took off as far away as you could and transformed to jump in and protect her.

Joining forces with the other Scouts, the entire group focused on taking down the Armored Titan. Mikasa was hurt and you didn't want her to hurt herself even further so you dropped her off behind one of the buildings as you fought off the other titan. The others stayed behind to avoid getting hit. Once there's an opening the others use their spears to make his neck explode to finally take him down at once.

"Mikasa! Are you okay?"

You had pulled yourself out of your titan as soon as he was down so you could help Mikasa with the injuries she had sustained.

"I'm fine. Just a little bruised up. Thank you for stepping in now go help the Commander. They need you more than I do."

"But Mikasa, you're hurt."

"I'll be fine. Now go!"

You sigh and nod, pressing a quick kiss against her lips and then taking off towards the top of the wall.

Even with your help, there weren't many survivors after the attacks from the Beast Titan. The Survey Corp only had 10 living members from the 200 that had gone to the wall to reclaim it.

"I could've done something more, Mikasa. I..."

"There wasn't anything else that you could've done. You helped buy us some time to avoid a fight against two fronts. If it weren't for you and the efforts of the others, we would've been beaten." She kisses the top of your head as she continues watching the calming sea with you. "Lets get married. It doesn't feel right to marry in the walls but this, this feels perfect."

"You really want to get married right now? We're not even dressed for the occasion."

"It doesn't matter what we marry in as long as I get to marry you. What better place to marry than by the sea?"

You stand up and hold out your hand for her to take.

"You're right. Lets do it then, lets get married."
