You tried to let go of Shimizu's hand but it was impossible with the tight grip she had. She seemed lost in thought while staring at your hands.

"Shimizu? Everything alright?"

She snaps out of it when she hears her name being called.

"Yeah. Everything is fine. Good luck."

"Good luck to you too."

She finally lets go of your hand and heads back to her side of the gym. You worried about her with the way she had been acting but you didn't have time to go over and check on her as your team called for you. You made a mental note to check up on her after the game ended to make sure everything was alright.

The entire team surrounds Shimizu when they see how much paler she had gone.

"Is everything alright, Shimizu? You looked like you just saw a ghost."

Shimizu pays them no attention as she looks down at her covered wrist where her tattoo is. She had never imagined she would find her soulmate before graduating. She had always heard stories of people meeting their soulmates during college or even later on in the years.

"Shimizu? Talk to us. We're here for you. Did (y/n) say something to you."

At the mention of your name, she finally snaps out of her thoughts.

"N..no. I'm fine. Just go out there and get a win for us."

Rather than moving on to their side of the net, they stood by her. They refused to play until they were sure everything was fine.

"Come on. You can trust us. We've never seen you like this. What's going on? Are you feeling sick?"

Shimizu sighs. There was no way the team was going to back off until she gave them an answer.

"It's about my soulmate..." They all gasp at the mention of it. They knew how rare it was to find your soulmate while still in high school but it made sense considering that she was almost graduating. She waits until they all stop questioning her about it to continue. "It's (y/n). I saw her tattoo when we shook hands."

"Well did you say anything?"

"No! Of course not. Why would I say anything?"

"Because she's your soulmate! Do you have any idea how lucky you are to find her this early....." They're interrupted when the referee blows his whistle to call for them to get on their side. "If we get you that win, will you tell her?"

She narrows her eyes at them, scaring them just a little. Even though they were scared, they refused to back down. It was her soulmate after all and they knew she wouldn't say anything.

"You'll forfeit the game if you don't get on your side."

"Promise that you'll talk to her."

She crosses her arms over her chest and looks away from them.

"Fine. Just go out there already."

The game eventually ends with them losing by several points. It sucked that they had lost but they cared more about the fact that Shimizu wasn't going to reveal to you that she was your soulmate.

"Are you seriously not going to tell her?"

"No, you made me promise that I would tell her if you guys won but you lost."

"Damn. You don't have to rub salt to our wounds. It was only by a couple of points."

"It's okay. Maybe next time you'll get a win and I'll tell (y/n) about....."

"Tell me what?"

You ask when you hear your name. They all turn to face you, surprised to see you in their locker room.

"Uh, what are you doing here?"

One of the players asks you.

"I came to check up on Shimizu. Are you alright?"

Shimizu is surprised that you had actually bothered to check up on her. She hadn't expected for you to care.

"Ye..."

Knowing this was their chance, they tell you about what Shimizu had told them. Shimizu tried to quiet them down but you were able to understand what they were saying.

"Soulmates, huh? I should've realized it when you wouldn't stop staring at my hands. I need to go but we should set up a date. I'd love to get to know you." You write down your number on a piece of paper from your clipboard and hand it to her. "I'll be waiting for your call/text"

You bid your goodbye and head out the locker room.

Shimizu was quiet throughout the bus ride as she kept thinking about how she was going to approach you. She didn't want to seem desperate so she figured it would be a good idea to wait a couple of days to talk to you.

"I thought you would already be setting up the date. What happened?"

Hitoka asks her after taking a seat besides her.

"Don't you think it's to soon? I mean we just met. I think it's a good idea if I wait...."

"No, way. I'm not letting you think about this any longer. You're going on that date before the end of the week."

Hitoka reaches for the piece of paper you had given her and rushes to the back of the bus so she could message you.

"Hey! Give me that!"

Shimizu tried to reach Hitoka but Yu stops her.

"Sorry, I was given orders to stop you."

She tries to get out of his hold but fails. Hitoka soon approaches them with a frown on her face as she shows Shimizu your message.

"It seems she wants for you to make your own decision as to when to have the date. She did say that she didn't mind waiting for as long as you needed. I suggest you ask her out before I do."

Shimizu gets out of Yu's hold as she rips the paper from Hitoka's hand and heads back to her seat.

"She's my soulmate. Not yours."

Hitoka hides her smile as she watches Shimizu text someone. No doubt in her mind that it was you. Plan B had worked flawlessly.
