After much encouragement from your team, you had finally worked up the courage to ask out Tsunade. You had always been against it considering the big age difference and how she might not view you as a love interest but they persisted. The two of you were consenting adults and it was only a date. Neither of you were committing to anything.

You're just about to knock on the door when you hear her talking to someone somewhere in the garden. You were about to interrupt them but stopped when you heard your name. It was wrong of you to listen but you wanted to know if she felt the same about you. Hiding behind a corner, you leaned in to see what they were saying.

"So? What are you going to tell her when she asks you out? You know she's going to come over anytime soon."

"I'll just let her down gently and that's all. There's nothing else further discuss."

"Yeah? You think she'll accept your no. She looks like a persistent person."

Tsunade stops walking to turn around and face Shizune.

"The brat might be annoying but she knows when no is no. If I turn her down, she'll let it go and that'll be the end of that. Now can we stop talking about it."

Shizune's eyes briefly met yours before looking at Tsunade.

"Yes ma'am."

You trashed the flowers and locked yourself in your room. Your friends tried to get you to talk to them but you refused. You only spoke to your brother and he simply advised you to let things go. That it was foolish to pursue Tsunade.

It pained you to listen to his advice but you knew he was right. You needed to get over your silly crush for Tsunade. You did anything to avoid ever meeting her and it worked. Simply looking at her stopped hurting and you were able to return back to your usual duties of assisting her.

The change in you was surprised and she often questioned you about it but you simply shrugged her off. She already saw you as a brat, you refused to let her see you as something else.
