Yor knew this was going to eventually happen. She thought she was more than ready to go through with it but now that the time has come, she was finding it hard to go through with it. The two of you had been dating since high school. You helped take care of her little brother when you didn't need to. You've been the best girlfriend Yor could ever ask for and she needed to ruin it.

Her brother had tried to talk her out of it but she wasn't going to back down. She was doing this job because of him and nothing was going to stop her from completing it. He was her little brother and it was up to her to keep him safe even if he was all grown up.

"Are you seriously thinking through this sister? Why are you breaking up with her? Did she do something? Did she hurt you?!"

Yor smiled at him before shaking her head.

"I think that we need to take a break from each other. We've been together for years and it's good to explore options."

Yuri stared at her as if she had grown a second head. The words coming out of Yor's mouth did not make any sense. He knew how much Yor loved you so it didn't make any sense for her to think about breaking up with you out of the blue.

"Is this because I've been telling you to break up with her for years? Because if it is, I was joking. As annoying as she is, I like her."

"You're not a very good liar, Yuri. We've known that you secretly liked her for years. I've already explained my reasons for breaking up with her and I'd like for you to respect them."

"Alright. I tried to stop you from making the biggest mistake of your life. Don't come crying to me when you realize what you've done."

Yor knew he was lying. Yuri would always welcome her with open arms but she understood what he meant.

"I won't."

You're in the middle of cooking dinner when Yor interrupts you.

"Can we talk?"

"Yeah! Just a second. The food is going to burn up if I don't finish it."

You continue pouring the spices and vegetables on the pan, oblivious of what was going to happen. Your back was facing Yor so you couldn't see the lack of emotion on her face.

"The food can wait. This is important."

"Babe, just give me a second. I'm almost done."

Yor couldn't wait any longer. It was nor or never.

"Please! Just forget about the damn food."

You stop moving and turn around to face Yor. Her eyes lacked the warmth they usually had. Her face was void of any emotion and you couldn't tell what she was thinking. For once in your life, you didn't know what Yor was feeling.

"Y..yeah. Just give me a second." You turned off the stuff and wiped your hands clean to sit beside Yor. "What did you want to talk...."

"I think we should break up."

She interrupts you.

"Haha, Yor. You really got me there." You look around the room, expecting to find Yuri somewhere but he's nowhere in sight. When you turn to look back at Yor, she's not smiling. "You're not joking?"

"No. I'm not. We should break up."

You felt your blood run cold as she repeats herself. After years of being together, you never expected this. You actually expected to get married sometime soon.

"I don't understand. Did I do something wrong? Is there something I can do to fix us?"

You tried to take her hand but she pulled it away. Your heart was aching over what was going on. You couldn't believe that this was happening.

"There's nothing you can do. There's no us for you to fix. I want to break up. You can keep the apartment. It's the least I can do for what I'm doing. I'll have Yuri pick up my things."

She stood up and began to walk out of your apartment.

"Why? Why are you breaking up with me? What did I do?!"

Yor didn't flinch at your screams. She had expected the anger from you. You've always been the most expressive of the two. It was killing her to go through with this and she needed to get out before she started to cry.

"I think it's better if we just went our separate ways."

"Fuck you, Yor! I hate you!"

When she finally leaves, you let your tears fall.

You didn't see Yor until a few months after your break up. It was hell getting through the break up. You cried randomly over the smallest things and everything seemed to remind you of Yor. Eventually the pain lessened and saying her name stopped hurting. You were slowly going back to your former self little by little.

The little progress you had made was ruined when you spotted Yor with her family. Yuri had told you all about it after much beginning from your part. He told you all about how she was suddenly married with a kid. No one had seen it coming and he was even surprised about it.

You wait until the man and the kid disappear into the convenience store to confront Yor.

"It's nice to see how quickly you were able to forget about it. It almost makes it seem like you had been cheating on me the whole time. Is that it? Is that why you broke up with me?"

She tries to calm you down to stop you from making a scene and drawing people's attention but it was too late. They were all staring at the two of you.

"(y/n), please. We broke up months ago."

"We were fucking happy together Yor!"

Hearing the commotion, the man ran out with the child in his arms. He handed the girl to Yor and stood protectively over the two of them.

"I suggest you turn around and leave us alone."

You looked over at the girl hiding her face in Yor's neck and then back to the man. There was apparently no more room for you in her life. She had a family now.

"Sorry for causing any trouble."

With every step you took, you heart broke. You arrived to your cold and empty apartment in tears. You thought you had gotten over her but seeing her again opened up old wounds.

"Mama? Who was that?"

Yor smiled at Anya through the mirror and patted the spot for her to sit besides her. As Anya took a seat, Yor began to brush her hair.

"An old friend."

Yor hated how Yuri had been right but it was too late. She was too deep in this mission to back out.
