For being a first year, you fought like a third year. You easily held your own when the Huge escape and managed to catch the eye of most second and third years. They all talked about wanting to make the Schutzengel pledge with you.

Quiet a few of them asked you but you rejected them all. You only had one person in mind who you wanted to make the Schutzengel pledge with. The only problem was that she wasn't making the pledge with anyone.

Wanting to know the reason behind it, you asked around. They all gave you bits and pieces that you managed to put together to figure out why she refused to do a pledge. When you were finally able to piece together everything, you figured it was best to leave Yuyu alone. Yuyu might be the best in the academy but she had problems that could potentially impact your progress.

With Yuyu no longer being an option for you, you began to investigate about the others who had asked you to be their shield.

You're in the middle of talking to your top choice when Yuyu decides to interrupt you.

"We need to talk."

You look up to face her, your face clearly showing that you were annoyed about the sudden interruption.

"About? I'm in the middle of something important."

Yuyu looked to the other girl and then back to you. It looked like she was going to turn around and leave but she didn't.

"About the Schutzengel pledge. I want you to be my shield."

You finally realize that the dining hall had gotten quiet and everyone seemed to be listening in. Not one for people to be in your business, you figured it was better to talk to her somewhere else. You apologize to the girl for suddenly leaving and promise her to reschedule. She thankfully understands and lets you leave with Yuyu.

"You're incredibly rude, you know."

"I tried to talk to you alone but you're always talking to someone. With the deadline approaching, this was my last result."

You simply nod and continue leading her to your room.

Thankfully, your roommate isn't in the room. You take a seat on your bed and motion for Yuyu to take a seat on your roomate's.

"You wanted to talk so talk."

She stays quiet for a few seconds, more than likely gathering her thoughts. You don't rush, simply patiently wait for her to speak.

"I want for us to make the Schutzengel pledge together. I want you to be my shield and I'll be your guardian angel."

Anyone would've jumped at the thought of Yuyu being their guardian angel but not you. You had seen how terrible her teamwork was and she was only going to hold you back. Despite her rudeness earlier, you didn't want to be rude and outright tell her no.

"Why?"

She seems to be taken aback by the question. Yuyu must've probably assumed you would've said yes.

"I've seen your talent and I figured the two of us could work well together."

"Based on our ranking, it would seem like we could work well together but I've seen you in the field Miss Yuyu. I'm not interested in making a pledge with someone who doesn't know how to work with a partner. I believe you'll hinder my progress so I'm going to have to decline."

Despite you turning her down, she didn't move from her seat. She seemed lost in thought until you called for her attention.

"I can show you things that none of the other girls know. I've trained for months to develop my abilities further than anyone else in the academy. If you become my shield, I'll teach you everything I've learned."

Yuyu's teamwork might suck but you had to admit her skills were beyond anything you've ever seen in the other girls. It was tempting to accept her proposal.

"Your teamwork. It needs work. If I agree to be your shield, do you agree to work on it?"

"I will work on it."

"Then I accept your proposal Miss Yuyu. I'll be your shield."
