AN: I couldn't write for Esdeath to go good. I apologize.

Esdeath wanted to be loved. She was willing to do almost anything to find someone that she could fall in love with and have them return her feelings. After years of doing the emperor's bidding, she was beginning to feel lonely. It was discouraging to come back home and have no one wait for her.

When her eyes landed on Tatsumi, she felt he was a potential candidate of being her lover. He ticked off all the checkboxes. There was just two things standing in her way. Tatsumi was part of Night Raid and he refused to accept her love. It was discouraging to constantly fight him and hear him insult her. She hoped that her strength and determination would make him see what a great partner she could be but nothing seemed to change his mind. The only thing left that could help her was to convince him to fall in love with her.

"General Esdeath, all preparations are ready for his arrival."

"Thank you, Wave. Let the others know that we'll be heading out."

The mission hadn't been authorized but Esdeath couldn't care less. Being one of the nation's top generals had its perks. Her quest for love was more important than anything.

"You all know what to do. Make sure to bring him in unharmed."

'Yes Ma'am!'

They all yell in unison and rush to surprise Night Raid.

It was complete chaos when the two sides clashed. Neither side was backing down and it was getting darker. Knowing how much difficult the mission would be if it lasted longer, Wave decided to end everything at once. He grabbed his sword's hilt with both hands and slammed the blade on the ground. The force created a shockwave, knocking everyone down.

"Grab him!"

Wave yells to his team as the dust creates a shield for them to hide. Unable to see anything, Bols makes his was to the last location of where he had seen Tatsumi and makes a run for it.

The Jaegers all stopped before reuniting with the general. In their hurry to evade Night Raid, no one had noticed Bols had grabbed the wrong person until Seryu spotted you.

"Shit! What the hell are we going to do? She's going to kill us. Bols! Why didn't you check!?"

Wave was panicking. They had been given a simple task and they had failed. Esdeath wasn't going to be happy. They were all dead men walking.

"Just shut up, Wave. Just let us think."

Bored and hungry, Kurome pulled her bag of cookies out and began to eat while they all argued with each other about what to do.

"That's it! We'll cover her face. And Wave will give her his coat."

They all stared at Bols like if he was an idiot. He looked around at everyone, waiting for them to get to work but no one moved.

"Yeah. We're so dead."

Seryu rolled her eyes and grabbed the now empty bag of cookies to toss over your head. It was a relief that you had gotten knocked out to make the entire thing easier.

"Give me your coat."

She holds out her hand, waiting for him to give it to her. He stares at her, unsure of what to do.

"Are you sure..."

"Just shut up and give it to me. I want to go home already."

Wave reluctantly takes off his coat and hands it to her. With the help of Bols, Seryu was able to put it on you.

"Lets pray Esdeath has mercy on us."

You weren't sure what had happened. Once second, you were fighting the Jaegers and the next, you were waking up with a bag over your head while tied to a chair. You struggled to get out since you had woken up but was unsuccessful. You finally stop when you hear the door open followed by a serious of footsteps. They eventually stop before you and then the bag is removed. You wince at the bright light and then finally look up when your eyes adjust. You're shocked to be face to face with Esdeath.

"You're not my Tatsumi."

She steps back and pulls out her sword to hold at your neck. You gulp loudly when you see her narrow eyes at you. For the first time in your life, you were genuinely afraid. You gathered that the Jaegers had been told to ambush Night Raid to kidnap Tatsumi to bring him back to Esdeath.

"Please don't kill me!"

She raises her brow when she hears you plead. It was unusual to hear someone from Night Raid beg.

"You're of no use to me. Why should I keep you?"

"Because they'll try to rescue me! Tatsumi is my best friend! He'll do anything to bring me back."

At the mention of his name, she lowers her sword. When she hears the following words, she puts her sword back.

"You'll live for now. You better hope that he comes."

Tatsumi doesn't come. Neither does the rest of Night Raid. The hope dims in your eyes and Esdeath actually feels bad. She wasn't sure why she would feel pity for you but she felt the need to do something.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm sure you'd like to stretch you legs after being stuck to the chair almost all day."

You rub your wrists to help sooth your reddening skin. Esdeath notices and takes ahold of your wrists to gently cool them. You let out a sigh of relief at the cold feeling.

"Thank you."

She nods and steps back to give you space.

"Lets take a walk around the garden. Some air would do you some good."

You found yourself enjoying your time with Esdeath. She was surprisingly funny and kind. A complete 180 to the cruel woman you've seen in the battlefield. You had gotten plenty of times to escape but you never felt the need to do so. You didn't want to be apart from Esdeath and from what you've seen, neither could she.

"You're not taking me back to my room?"

"That was a prison. I think you'll prefer to stay in here."

She opens the door to reveal a bedroom much like hers. You hesitate to follow her in.

"Is this mine?"

"If you wish to stay here, it's yours."

You walk around the room while thinking about what you said. It almost sounded like she was giving you the option to leave.

"You're letting me go?"

Esdeath makes her way to the table in your room to pour herself some wine. She takes a sip while looking out the window to her left.

"I've come to care for you and realized that it wouldn't be right to hold you hostage. You can go back to Night Raid or you can stay here without needing to join the Jaegers."

"I'll stay."

You answer without hesitation. Esdeath started to choke on the drink from the shock of your answer. She hadn't expected for you to actually stay.

"Really?"

You make your way over to stand before her. You take her hands in your and look up to face her.

"I've come to care a lot about you Esdeath. I don't want to leave you."

The two of you get lost in each others eyes without realizing that the two of you were slowly leaning in. Esdeath is the one who leans in to kiss you. When the two of you pull apart, you wrapped your arms around her waist and let your head rest on her chest. Esdeath automatically wrapped her arms around you to hold you close.

"I love you, Esdeath."

"And I love you too, darling."

Night Raid had thought you were dead. When they saw you by Esdeath's side, they were shocked. You simply laughed when the questioned what you were doing.

"What does it look like I'm doing? I'm helping my wife take down Night Raid."
