Mouichidodake (Once Again)

My name is Okamaoto Keito and a few years ago I broke off a relationship that I was sure to be my last. Only, I was selfish and put my feelings before hers. This is what happened...

Flashback

"Keito, where have you been?" My girlfriend Ichinose Hina asked.

"I was at the studio late again." I replied.

"You've been late all month. I'm running out of patience."

"I'm sorry. Have you eaten?" I asked as I saw the food still on the table.

"No I haven't because I thought you would at least call." She said angrily. "If you don't want me in your way I can leave. Is that what you want?"

"N-no of course not!"

"Because that's what it seems like."

"I'm sorry."

"I need to tell you something." She began.

"What?"

"I've fallen in love with someone else." She said.

"How?" I asked.

"When you aren't home I cry my eyes out. When you don't call me I cry my eyes out. He's the only one who listens to me and comforts me. Unlike you." She said and began to grab all of her things.

"Where are you going?" I asked confused.

"Goodbye Keito. I hope that your dreams are more valuable that me." She said and closed the door.

That was 2 years ago and I haven't seen or heard from her since. I regretted everything that day and promised that my dreams would come true so that I can return to her. I hope that I could hold her mouichidoadake (once again).

*ring* *ring*

"Yes." I said as I opened the door. "What are you doing here? And why are you covered in bruises?"

"Keito!" She shouted and jumped into my arms.

"What happened?"

"He beat me. Over and over because I wouldn't make enough money to satisfy him."

"Why didn't you just come back to me sooner?"

"I didn't think you'd accept me again."

If I get a chance to hold again in my arms. Would I know what to say would I know what to do?

"I love you. I'm sorry I put myself before you."

"It's okay."

After that I let her stay at my house and before I knew we lived under the same roof again. I took her on dates once a week and bought her gifts twice a week. That was the deal. I was told to be home at least by 8:00 any later and I would get scolded but I was never scolded. I loved and missed her too much to stay away passed 8:00.

"I love you." She said as I began to fall asleep.

"Can I ask you a question?" I asked.

"Sure." She replied.

"Will you marry me?" I asked as I pulled out a ring.

"Yes. I will." She said beginning to cry.

"I love you too." I said.

The wedding was small and held in our small apartment with both our parents and my band. The total amount of people was about 15. We were both only children and so were our parents. All of our grandparents were dead and all we had were our parents. It didn't matter because I was with the one I love and will always love.

"Promise something?" She asked.

"Okay." I answered.

"Promise that I will always be with you."

"Of course. You have to promise me that too."

"Alright."

The next month was my birthday and she bought me an Apple Watch. I've always wanted one but something happened when I opened it that I didn't expect.

"Are you recording?" I asked.

"Yea open it." She said.

"Alright." I replied as I began to open everything. "Oh my gosh. Are you really?!" I shouted as I saw a positive pregnancy test in the box instead of a watch.

"Yep." She said.

"I'm so happy." I said crying.

"I'm happy you're happy." She said as she hugged me. "The watch is under your pillow by the way."

"I don't care about the watch."

"So can I have it?" She asked.

"Nope."

"Hidoi (you're mean)!" She shouted.

"I'll share it with you."

"Whatever."

"I love you." I said in English.

"That is one language I understand." She said jokingly.

"I know."

A few months later my daughter, Ai, was born. She perfectly healthy and looked like her mom. Her mom was also healthy and worked very heard through the 12 hours of labor she had to endure.

"I'm very proud of you." I said to my wife.

"I'm tired." She said and fell asleep.

"Good night." I said and kissed her on the forehead.
