UPDATE ON MARCH 8, 2018: PLEASE CHECK OUT MY SECOND STRANGER THINGS IMAGINES BOOK IF YOU WANT MORE!!!

Rain pounded the concrete as you kept up your pace towards Hawkins High school. Cars and students with umbrellas ran past you to get into the warm, dry building that was now becoming crowded.

Thunder rumbled quietly above you as you pushed the door open with your shoulder, walking quickly past Tommy and Carol who seemed to have their eyes fixated on you.

Your soaking wet hair and muddy shoes made you a sight for sore eyes as you began to open your locker, the lights briefly flickering as thunder cracked above the building, girls squealing out of fear while guys attracted the girls to their sides for "protection".

The small, rusty metal door of your locker opened as you began to put away your books, now sopping wet jacket, and extra folders for classes near the end of the day.

"Hey, you."

A familiar voice came from behind as you continued putting stuff away neatly in your locker. Upon finishing, you shut your locker and turned towards your boyfriend, Steve Harrington.

"Where were you this morning?" You asked, picking at a loose thread on your worn out sweater. Steve looked down towards the ground, somewhat realizing his mistake.

"Yeah, uh," He scratched the back of his neck nervously as his eyes scanned yours for any other emotion. "I got busy."

You snickered. "Yeah, busy. Busy with what? Another girl?" The thought hit you hard every time you had to ask the same question but he was, after all, your boyfriend.

"No, no. God, I swear to you that it's never a girl that has me busy."

You could feel the stares from other people around you, Tommy and Carol watching diagonally across from the both of you. You crossed your arms, backpack shoved up on top of your shoulder.

"Then what is it?"

There was a pause before the bell rang, signaling it was time for you to get to first period. You knew he would answer you eventually, he had no choice but to. After all the times he told you that he was 'busy' and 'it's never about another girl'. You always deserved an honest answer.

You walked past him towards your first period, Tommy and Carol staring daggers into your back.

                                   ...
You tapped your pencil against the ring of your binder for chemistry, the teacher's words boring you every second that the class continued. You hummed a song quietly to yourself as Steve sat on the other side of you, staring at you the entire time.

You were trying your best to listen, even though the subject was confusing and hard, occasionally boring, you needed to keep up the 97 you had in the class.

"___, please let me talk to you after lunch."

You sighed, writing something down quickly onto a sheet of paper and passing it over to him without your eyes ever moving off the formula on the board.

You could see the small smile tug at the corner of his lips as he read your quickly sketched out answer on the small sheet of paper.

'Sure'

                                  ...
Steve pulled you over to the side of the school, underneath the small roof that offered just enough protection against the rain that was now pouring down in sheets.

"The reason I was late this morning is because I was helping out Dustin."

You laughed, holding your stomach as the tears of laughter fell from your eyes. Steve just watched you with a small smile, but you could see it was the truth.

"Wait? Are you serious?"

He nodded, grabbing your hand, and holding it tightly in his grasp. You were confused. Steve Harrington never just hung out with younger kids. Unless he was picking on them, he never just hung out with them.

"Were you paid or something?" You asked, your head tilting slightly to the side as a loose strand of hair briefly fluttered across your face.

He shook his head. "No, I was just getting him to school is all." You smiled. Smiled? About him helping out one of your best friend's, younger brother's friend.

"I thought you couldn't stand those kids?" You asked once more. He dropped your hand to run a hand through his hair, your eyes watching his every movement.

"I thought I couldn't stand them but something changed my mind."

You took his hand back in yours and smiled a large tug of one in his direction.

"I think I'm a pretty good babysitter."

You snickered as his and your steps stayed in time as you began to walk back inside the building towards your fifth period.

"You're such a mom, Steve Harrington."
