Dustin's Little Sister (pt. 2)

a/n: second part!!!! Hopefully you all enjoy & sorry for no update on Thanksgiving but I love my family & want to spend time with them!!! enjoy :)

You sat with a bowl of popcorn in between your legs with Dustin sitting close to you while Will, Lucas, Max, and Mike sat around talking and watching a movie in Lucas' house.

"Why are you so protective of me, Dusty?" You suddenly asked while eating some of the salty snack between your legs. He didn't answer right away but instead kept his stare focused towards Mike.

"No reason."

You snickered. "I'm pretty sure there's a reason, Dusty. Or else you wouldn't be sitting with me while the other guys, and Max, stay over there." You nudged his shoulder lightly and urged him to continue. "Tell me."

"I was sworn to secrecy and as much as I want to protect you, I want you to also be hidden from the truth." He said, rethinking over his words with a somewhat confused expression on his face.

You raised an eyebrow, questioning what he just said, while he just proceeded to stand up and walk over to the snack table. You smiled as he turned back around and said, "Don't move while I'm getting us food."

"Us?" You questioned as he just rolled his eyes, turning back around to pile a plate high with different assortments of junk food that ranged from nougat to sour gummy worms.

You sat observing the party from a different angle, seeing the different expressions on people's faces and noticing the tiniest of things each of your friends did.

You looked back down at the bowl of popcorn, clapping your hands suddenly. You wanted to know this secret Dustin was keeping and you knew the only way to do that was to play truth or dare, with all of his friends knowing the real reason of his overprotectiveness of his little sister, well, you.

Everyone turned to look at you, watching you while you placed the bright orange bowl of yellow, buttery popcorn off to the side and gestured a circle with your hand.

"Come on!" You said eagerly, watching as Dustin took a dash for the spot next to you, Will sitting on your left side. Mike sat next to Lucas, and Lucas took his rightful spot in between Will and Max.

"Okay, there's a reason I want to do this but I'll be fair and let someone else go first." You began to explain, taking out two die from your pocket. You always had them with you because they were from the first game of Dungeons and Dragons that you played with your friends and cherished it like a gem.

"Each person will roll the die and whoever gets the highest number goes first and asks a truth or a dare." You finished, looking around to see ready looking faces as you took your turn first.

You threw the die in the middle of the circle and got the number 6. Will took them next, rolling a small number of 4. Dustin took the place above you with a number of 9. Max rolled before Lucas could even pick up the die and got a 7. Lucas snatched the die away as Max rolled her eyes but smiled, giving him a solid number of 10. Mike went last and rolled the smallest number, 2. You pointed towards Lucas who gave you back the die from Mike, and began looking for someone to ask.

"Hm." He taunted. You awaited the question eagerly. "Will, truth or dare?" You turned to your left, seeing Will go pale being the first victim of the entire game to go. "Truth." He said, knowing he'd be safer with answering a question rather than doing something he might not enjoy.

"What do you hate most about the upside down?" Lucas asked, seeing Will's facial expression change multiple times before he finally opened his mouth to give an answer.

"Everything. Not sure why that wasn't such a simple question to answer yourself." He said, laughing while the rest of you and the guys, including Max, joined along.

"Okay, um, Max. Truth or dare?" You turned towards her to see the color of her face turn to the color of her hair. "Dare." She said.

Will took a moment to actually answer her back but did something simple that she could probably do tomorrow. "Do a cool trick on the skateboard in front of all of us sometime." He said, earning only a smile, nod, and a 'you're on' from Max.

Max turned to look around the circle at her next victim and you were praying that it would be you because all you wanted was to ask Dustin the question. "___, truth or dare?" She asked, almost reading your mind in a way.

"Truth." She took a moment to think upon my response but looked me dead in the eye and asked, "Do you think of me as the 'Zoomer' of the group?" She asked, smiling a little at the end.

"Uh, who wouldn't?" You responded with a bright, animated smile painted on your lips. She laughed with the rest of the group as you now eagerly turned towards Dustin.

"Dustin, truth or dare?" You asked and began to privately pray that he would pick truth because you needed to know the answer to this question. He didn't answer you for a minute, making you sit in silence with the group before he finally answered slowly.

"Truth."

You almost let out a sigh of relief, yet still holding in a breath of suspense as well because you wanted to know the answer to this question so badly. "Why are you so overprotective of me?"

He didn't say much but Max did snicker a little while Lucas whispered under his breath, 'Damn, she got you'. He finally took a breath and responded, "Because someone here likes you."

You nearly choked on literal air that you were breathing. Someone, one of your brother's friends (I mean, yours too, of course, but they were Dustin's friends before yours), liked you? As a crush? No way.

"W-What?" You managed out, looking at Max who was now looking around the room at each of the guys, wanting an answer out of them. "Dustin, tell me who."

He shook his head, his curls brushing his forehead. "I can't. Sworn to secrecy. That's all that I can tell you. Not a who or why. Just a what."

You groaned, your eyes meeting everyone's gaze to see who was the one not meeting yours back. You stared at Will but he didn't make much of a movement away from your glance. Lucas kept his stare right on with you so you looked away sooner than he expected.

Mike, however, looked away almost immediately as your eyes landed on his, his face becoming a deep shade of red, almost the same color as Max's hair.

"Bingo."
