Christmas Movie Marathon

a/n: some light fluff with Mike. enjoy :)

The day started off with the glowing of the sun hitting each falling flake of snow. It was cold outside, which meant going somewhere wasn't much of an option for you. Especially with your sickness.

You had recently earned a cold from hanging out with Dustin too much in the snow the previous night, so you were forced to stay inside the whole next day.

Lazily, you pulled yourself out of your warm bed, a blanket dragging on the floor behind you as your socked feet patted down the stairs slowly.

The smell of toast and coffee wafted throughout the house, waking you up the slightest bit, and you couldn't help but smile at the smell.

You walked into the kitchen to see your mom pouring a mug of coffee to enjoy before she went to work.

"Morning, ___." She greeted.

You merely mumbled a 'morning' before giving a smile and heading towards the pantry to pour some cereal and milk.

After fixing the bowl, you headed into the den where you found some cartoon to watch as the snow fell softly outside the window that illuminated the room.

"___, I don't want you going outside today, remember? You can't get more sick than you already are." Your mother reminded you.

"Okay." Was the only response you gave back, taking a spoonful of cereal to your mouth as your mom walked into the current room you were sitting in.

"I'm leaving for work now. I'll be back home around 5:00. See you then, honey."

You watched her leave, quickly finishing your bowl of cereal, rinsing the bowl out, and going to the phone to call up your boyfriend, better known as Mike Wheeler.

"Hey, Mrs. Wheeler. It's ___. Can I speak to Mike for a few minutes?" You asked, trying to be as polite as possible and Mrs. Wheeler was a very nice woman, anyways.

"Sure, let me call him for you."

You heard the muffled yell of 'Mike' and bounding footsteps down the stairs. A 'what' came from your boyfriend's mouth as you smiled silently towards the receiver.

You heard Mrs. Wheeler softly saying 'it's ___ and she wants to talk to you about something' before the sound of his voice came into the microphone.

"___?" He asked.

"Hey, So," You began, tracing your finger along the patterns on the table. You weren't sure why you were nervous, since you had been dating him for quite some time now and his parents adored you. Especially Nancy, since she could hang out with you.

"I was wondering if you wanted to-"

"Yes."

You laughed, a small cough following right after. "I didn't finish my sentence, Wheeler."

You could see him shrugging back in response. "I just want to see you. I'll be over in five."

The buzzing sound came from the receiver as you put the phone back, a smile painting your cherry pink lips.

You headed back towards the welcoming couch where you and your boyfriend would soon be cuddled up together on.

The television was still playing the cartoon on it but you decided to watch some Christmas movies instead. So, you grabbed the multiple VHS tapes you had, and began to look through the Christmas movies.

In the middle of your search, a few knocks came on the door. You stood up, smiling, as you quickly rushed to open it.

You were immediately embraced into a hug.

"Hello to you too."

You could feel Mike's smile on the bare skin of your neck as you held him back. "Well, I have some coffee brewing in the pot and a few Christmas classics on VHS lined up for this afternoon. Sound okay?"

A smile was the only approval you needed from him to know you were doing the right thing.

You took his hand, a small cough escaping between your lightly chapped lips, and pulled him with you onto the couch to begin the first movie.

'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer'.

You immediately went to his warmth, humming out of satisfaction when you got into the perfect spot. A smile adorned your lips as Mike begin to play softly, and gently, with your hair.

A beep from the coffee maker sounded but you didn't want to move now, and Mike wasn't about to move and face your wrath. So, it beeped a few times before stopping.

It would soon be cold.

Five Christmas movies later, you were sound asleep on top of Mike Wheeler, your head laying on his chest with his hand still running through your hair, and a blanket covering the two of you.

Your mom walked in through the front door and turned off the coffee pot and setting down her groceries she had picked up on the way home.

"Mike Wheeler, what a surprise." Your mom said, but you were fast asleep on his chest as he continued to play with your hair while you slept.

'Frosty the Snowman' was now playing in the background.

"Hi, Mrs. ___. I'll be leaving soon if-"

She waved her hand, smiling at him and looking down at you. "No, it's fine. You can stay for dinner if you want. As long as my daughter is happy."

He looked down at sleeping you smiling, before responding back to your mother.

"It was the best Christmas movie marathon yet."
