Merry Christmas, Harrington

a/n: I know I said Christmas updates would start later but I have the time to write one right now, and it's nearing the end of this week & we'll only have two weeks left for Christmas updates so why not start early! thank you loves for reading. enjoy :)

This Christmas meant something special to you, especially because it was the first Christmas with your boyfriend, Steve Harrington.

Everyone knew how much you loved Christmas, especially if they could see the arrangements of Christmas sweaters lined up neatly inside your closet.

You knocked on your boyfriend's house, wearing a reindeer sweater that your mom had bought for you a few days ago. He opened the door, a smile on his face, as he quickly pulled you inside from the cold.

His lips met yours almost immediately before he let go, a small smile on both of your lips. "Hello to you to, Harrington." You said, walking further into his house where his mom was.

"___, how are you!" His mom squealed, his dad sitting watching some sports show on the television as you walked past him to get to the kitchen.

"Hi, Mrs. Harrington." You said smiling brightly, the smell of cookies baking in the oven and the smell of bark wood candles burning throughout the large home.

Steve came up to his mom and you, standing nearby where he could hear the conversation that was happening.

"You excited for Christmas, ___?" His mom asked, eyeing the bright red reindeer sweater you were currently wearing. You nodded, excited. "Very much so! I'm actually here because Steve agreed to get a tree for your house with me."

Mrs. Harrington smiled over at her son, rolling out some more cookie dough to cut into mini Christmas trees. "How thoughtful of you, honey. Be back home soon, though, because you don't want to miss these cookies!"

You nodded at Mrs. Harrington, Steve smiling at her before grabbing your hand, and pulling you along to the outdoors where the cold begin to quickly nip at any showing skin.

You tightened the sweater around you with your free hand, quickly climbing into the car with the other, before Steve joined you on the other side.

"You ready?" He asked, an excited twinkle in his eye as he turned the car on, slowly backing out of the driveway that was covered with a light dusting of snow.

The car ride began silent, before a Christmas song came on, and you began to hum to the beat softly. Steve glanced over at you stared out at passing houses and snow that falling down in small showers.

"Are you excited?" He asked, breaking the silence between the two of you. You looked over at him. "Yeah, I'm really excited for everything really. Not just a tree."

Steve nodded, refocusing on the snowy road ahead so that an accident wouldn't come about.

The sight of trees with a small dusting of snow covering their limbs, like powdered sugar, came into view as you got jittery with excitement.

Steve chuckled at your childlike antics, parking into a spot rather close to the exit so you two could quickly leave when you found the perfect tree.

You both got out of the car, your brown boots hitting the thin, soft layer of snow below as Steve came around to grab your hand.

"You ready?"

You nodded. "Let's do this, Harrington."

Two cups of apple cider, one tree, and long conversations about Rudolph were involved before you two were headed back to the Harrington household.

"I'm so excited for all the Christmas movies to begin playing!" You exclaimed with excitement. Steve laughed. "What about a new Christmas movie?"

You gasped, jokingly. "You mean, miss out on all the classics? No way." He glanced over at you, taking a sip of the hot cider sitting in the cup holder, before answering back. "I'm just saying, give the news ones a chance."

"I'll give them a chance but doesn't mean I'll like them." You fired back, shooting a smile to let him know this was all fun and games.

He rolled his eyes. "Yeah, okay."

You both walked in the door of the warm house, the smell of cookies instantly setting off a smile. A tree was also drug in by Steve who made you get the tree stand.

You quickly assembled it together, Steve placing the tree in the corner of the den where it could be seen from all angles, except from behind of course.

His dad came back with boxes of lights and ornaments, and you two went straight to work. You strung little strands of red ribbon in between limbs, while Steve finished putting on all the Christmas lights.

Next, ornaments were placed delicately onto each firm limb of the tree. Red, orange, yellow, and even bright blue ornaments displayed themselves all over the dark green shade of the tree.

Finally, the lights were turned on as you got a ladder to place the star on top. A smile on your cherry pink lips and bright lights illuminating your face, and Steve couldn't help but stare.

"You're so beautiful, ___. And I wouldn't want to spend my days, or Christmas' without you." He admitted.

You turned to him. "What a romantic, Harrington. But I love you too." You said back, sighing as you looked at the tree with admiration. You loved every limb of it, every small detail from the ribbon and lights to the ornaments and tree topper.

"Cookies?" Steve's mom asked, holding out a plate tauntingly towards the two of you. You grabbed a small Christmas tree, Steve following your actions, and bit into it.

It was soft, but firm enough not to crumble into pieces. The small, colorful sprinkles crunched between your teeth, and a smile was lit like the tree on your face.

"Merry Christmas, babe." Steve said, putting his arms on top of your shoulders.

You hummed back.

"Merry Christmas, Harrington."
