Date to the Upside Down

The first date with someone was always supposed to be something that people remembered, especially since the first dates were usually cringe worthy or awkward.

However, your first date with Jonathon Byers exceeded much past the ordinary and especially past the unusual. You knew something was going on in Hawkins, especially since you learned a lot of the information from Lucas, who was one of the kids that you first talked to about this.

You had also learned of the upside down and the demogorgan that thrives there, coming in and out to eat, fight, and maybe make a few special appearances to Eleven.

Today, Jonathon had decided that he wanted to end all of this and get his brother back. He wanted to fight for Will, and you found it charming. But, it was also you two's first date and so, that was a downside.

You showed up to the Byers house, knocking on the door as Joyce looked out to see you. She warmly opened the door, smiling at you but you could see that the house was a wreck.

You had come over only twice this week and a lot of had changed. Lights were strung across the entire den, leading into the hallway and kitchen where you had first talked to Will.

"Hey, ___." Joyce said smiling. You could heard Hopper's voice yelling from the hallway that there was something going on. You peeked around. "Is Jonathon here?" You asked, bouncing on the balls of your feet.

Joyce shook her head. "No, he said he was going into town for some stuff." You nodded, thanking her before bounding off in the direction of town in your small cruiser.

Jonathon was walking out of an alley way, bruised littered his face and he had blood coming from his forehead. "Jesus, Byers. What the hell happened?"

"Steve and his goons." He jabbed a thumb back at the three who Nancy Wheeler was now talking to. You never really liked Nancy that much, but expected her to hang out with Barb rather than Steve Harrington.

You pushed him into your car, sitting him down and beginning to talk to him. "Our first date, Jon." You said, pulling out a few tissues and dabbing away the blood. "A fight on our first date."

Jonathon weakly smiled, suddenly remembering what he had originally wanted to do. "The Upside Down. ___, I need your help and you can only be the one to help me."

Your eyebrows furrowed in question. "What is it?" Jonathon began talking quietly, as if he was scared that someone would hear him. "We need to go to the woods where I found something."

You leaned your head back. "Look, if I'm going anywhere with that son of a bitch, I'll need some type of weapon."

Jonathon sighed. "Alright, but quickly."

You burst through the door of the Byers, Hopper and Joyce now gone. Jonathon followed you in, very quickly, as you searched around for something. A bat caught your eye that had nails in it.

Your fingers gripped it, a sense of protection lingering at your feelings. You nodded towards Jonathon just as the room started to flash, colored Christmas lights casting colorful rays all around the room.

You stood your ground, Jonathon grabbing a gun, and tried to quickly load it. You watched him, waiting for something to happen. The Christmas lights didn't stop flashing, but it got suddenly silent before you saw snow, grimy slime on all the furniture, and muck at your feet.

"Jonathon?" You called out, not hearing anything, just the sound of a low growl. You gripped the bat, holding it high to swing when you needed to.

"This first date went the opposite direction." You mumbled under your breath. A growl came from behind you once more but this time it was louder.

"Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit." You mumbled, turning around slowly to see a creature feasting over a dead deer. This didn't make any sense. You were just in the Byers house, now you were in the woods with some bastard with a flowering face feasting off of a deer.

You whistled, catching it's attention before swinging the bat at its face, the nails grazing its face, causing a loud screech to erupt. You took another swing, this time injuring its legs.

Another hit. Another growl. Teeth were shown on all the petals of the face, you taking a few steps back as it began to leap towards you.

Your heart beat sped up, your palms sweaty (mom's spaghetti), as you took a swing, hitting it nearly on the top of its leg. One of its nails grazed your arm, causing blood to start slowly sleeping from the wound.

"Jesus!" You yelled out, hitting it harder this time to be a home run but it merely flew back. It began charging you again but the bat hit it before it could hit you.

It growled before hunkering down and running off in another direction. You sat down, leaning up against a tree stuck with slime. Now, all you had to do was find the exit.

Your colored orbs searched the scene before finding a small hole in the paper wall where you pushed through, seeing Jonathon scared on the other side.

You pushed through until you broke from the slimy prison. "Jonathon!" You yelled out, catching his attention as he dropped the gun.

You dropped the bat on the ground, slime and muck now dripping off of it. You felt his arms wrap around you and you just melted into them. The cut on your arm hasn't stopped bleeding and blood was getting all over both of your clothes.

"What the hell happened?" Jonathon asked, still holding you. You sighed before smiling up at him.

"Our first date to the Upside Down."
