It Wasn't A Suggestion (pt. 2)

a/n: I'm not sure why I love Joe Keery so much but he's just so attractive & such a cool dude. 😉 here's the next part of 'It Wasn't A Suggestion'. enjoy!!!

Falling was the last thing you remember as you woke up with a pounding headache and you were laying outside on one of the pool chairs, the rubber grabbing at your skin.

Your first sight was Steve looking down at you with concern completely flooding his eyes while Carol shivered with a towel wrapped tightly around her.

"___, love." Steve asked softly as your eyes fluttered over towards him while Tommy watched with Carol sort of growling softly.

"Mhmm." You mumbled out, not wanting to move but at the same time, wanting to be away from Carol and Tommy, and just be with Steve.

"I'm going to need you to stand up and come with me, okay? Can you do that?" He asked you, while you sat up slowly, taking everything slowly before you had enough oxygen to smack Tommy upside the head.

You reached out for Steve's hand, finding it easily, as you intertwined them together and he helped you up. You both walked inside his house, Carol staring daggers into your back.

...
"You scared me, you know that." He said once you were up in his room, changing out of your wet clothes that were now drying and sticking to your skin.

You glanced up from taking off your shorts and putting on some of Steve's sweatpants. He tossed you a t-shirt of his. You caught it smoothly before taking off the wet shirt, adding it to the pants, and placing the warm, dry t-shirt over your cold body.

You could hear Tommy and Carol howling again, which meant she wasn't focusing on Steve currently and you finally answered him back.

"Sorry." You mumbled, feeling weaker than before because not only of your lack of oxygen, but your inability to fight off Tommy.

"Hey, ___, don't apologize. I didn't mean that. I'm just saying that Tommy was being an ass when he shouldn't have been."

You smiled a little, pulling your now almost completely dry hair into a messy bun and laying back on his bed. You suddenly covered your eyes, feeling tears begin to flow out of them.

"I'm so weak." You cried out as Steve came over to where you were and sat next to you, pulling you up to look at him.

"Hey, it's okay. He was pressing really tightly, alright? All that matters to me is that you're alive."

You nodded, Steve wiping a tear away from your eye. You both sat there, staring into each other's eyes, stars filling yours as you stared at someone that was as attractive as he was.

How did you manage to get such a guy like him?

"Can I kiss you, ___? Or would that totally ruin the moment we have."

You just stared at him, moving your mouth but you couldn't hear any words come out. "I'd love you too, Steve Harrington."

He snickered as he undid your bun, sliding his finger through your softly waved hair that still had soaking wet sections. "It wasn't much of a suggestion though, was it?"

You shook your head as he looked at you with admiration in his eyes. You felt completely frozen, star struck, even. He was inching closer to your face but you didn't see it happen until it finally did.

His cigarette tasting lips met your chlorine chapped ones but you both didn't care as he kept on kissing you, while your heart beat rapidly in your chest.

He didn't stop kissing you until Carol shouted, "Steve Harrington! You should come down and see us!"

You looked up at him with the puppy dog look in your eye, begging him not to go see them. You were enjoying his company and safety. "Please don't." You said, not wanting him kissing you to end.

He looked down at you, a smile wide on his face as he leaned back down to your lips that were craving his so badly. He pressed them against yours again, making you gain excitement and a sense of security.

He began to lay you down, just softly, and parted his lips from yours to get above you. You were starry eyed and amazed by how this man was now kissing you in his own bed.

That's all it was, and that's all you wanted it to be. Simple and sweet, with a little spicy.

"Steve?" You asked in between one of the kisses he was giving to you. He stopped to look at you. "Yeah?" He asked.

"I'm sorry for being so protective." You found the hem of his shirt, playing with it as he just smiled. "You're marking your territory and that's what you need to do."

Before you could say something else about it, his lips were back on yours and your whole body was going numb from just this feeling. This is all you ever wanted.

"Steve Harrington!" Carol yelled, holding out the 'n'. You felt Steve get up and off of you, looking out the blinds angrily. Carol was standing waving a beer can at the window.

"Come on, Steve! You know you want it!"

He bit his lip in the moonlight from the window and you saw it, sitting up. He looked over at you. "Do you mind if we go back down?"

You shook your head. "No, but if she dares-"

Steve pressed a finger to your lips to quiet you as he slipped his hand into yours, calming you down just enough to walk out with him.

                                  ...

You both walked out together as Carol shrieked with excitement. "Steve! You're alive and now you can have this beer." She said, clearly drunk as every word she said was slurred together quite ferociously.

You examined her eyes and saw the same starry eyed look you knew you gave Steve every time you looked at him. It lit a flame inside of you because that was the look Steve was supposed to get exclusively from you.

He took the can in his hand, chugging it before throwing it off in another direction while Tommy and Carol cheered. You stood off to the side, your arms crossed as you stared protectively towards Carol.

She was looking intently at Steve now, and you desperately wanted to push her in again, now that you had more energy. Your mind considered it but Tommy grabbing you by the shoulders scared you suddenly.

He could've killed you earlier.

Steve was busy trying to light a cigarette to notice that Tommy was pushing you near Carol, who grabbed your arm.

She leaned close to your ear, growling, "Stay away from Steve Harrington. You got me?" You looked at her, your eyes glowing a bright, deep, dark, red, at least that's what it felt like.

Your instant protectiveness kicked in, sending you into somewhat of a silent rage where you backed up, straight into Steve and stood there, staring daggers at Carol.

She wasn't going to lay a finger on him.
