EL PRIMER DÍA DE CLASES DE GEORGE, CHARLOTTE Y LOUIS

El Príncipe William y Kate Middleton acompañaron a tres de sus cuatro hijos a Lambrook School, el nuevo colegio en el que estudiarán después de mudarse a Windsor.

Un nuevo hogar, y un nuevo colegio. Los hijos de los Duques de Cambridge acudieron ayer por primera vez a la escuela Lambrook School, donde continuarán sus estudios tras haber abandonado su residencia del Palacio de Kensington en Londres. El príncipe William les condujo hasta allí en coche desde Adelaide Cottage, la casa de campo cercana al Castillo de Windsor en que la familia vive ahora permanentemente. 

Según recoge el diario The Times, un reducido grupo de prensa compuesto por un redactor, un fotógrafo y un cámara aguardaba la llegada de la familia al colegio, donde los tres niños acudieron a una clase de presentación previa al comienzo propiamente dicho del curso, que tendrá lugar mañana. La Princesa Charlotte (7), llegó a su nueva escuela de la mano de su padre, mientras que los Príncipes George (9) y Louis (4), iban de la mano de su madre, Kate Middleton.

"¿Estáis emocionados?", les preguntó a sus tres nuevos alumnos el director de Lambrook al darles la bienvenida al colegio. "¡Sí!", contestaron los tres hermanos al unísono.

El Príncipe George y su hermano Louis vestían un uniforme compuesto por camisas blancas de manga corta y pantalones cortos azul marino, mientras que la Princesa Charlotte llevaba el vestido de cuadros blancos y azules del uniforme femenino de verano.

Será la primera vez que los tres hijos de los Duques de Cambridge estudien en el mismo colegio. Hasta el curso pasado, el Príncipe George y la Princesa Charlotte estaban matriculados en Thomas's Battersea, una escuela privada de Londres. Por su parte, el Príncipe Louis era alumno de la escuela infantil Willcocks Nursery School, situada también en Londres.

Según han publicado medios como The Telegraph, el Príncipe William y Kate deseaban que sus hijos pudieran criarse con mayor libertad que en la capital británica y por eso decidieron trasladar su residencia a Windsor, lo que les obligó a buscar un nuevo colegio.

Situado a solo unos minutos en coche de Adelaide Cottage, Lambrook cuenta con un alumnado mixto de 615 niños y niñas y la matrícula cuesta 25.000 euros para los nuevos alumnos. Ni el Príncipe William ni ningún miembro de la actual casa real británica pasaron por sus aulas, pero el colegio tiene un vínculo histórico con esta institución.

Dos de los nietos de la Reina Victoria fueron alumnos de la escuela, en la que ahora uno de los edificios lleva el nombre de la antigua monarca.

Prince William and Kate Middleton accompanied three of their four children to Lambrook School, the new school where they will study after moving to Windsor.

A new home, and a new school. The children of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended Lambrook School for the first time yesterday, where they will continue their studies after leaving their Kensington Palace residence in London. Prince William drove them there by car from Adelaide Cottage, the country house near Windsor Castle where the family now lives permanently. 

According to The Times, a small group of press consisting of an editor, a photographer and a cameraman awaited the arrival of the family at the school, where the three children attended an introductory class prior to the start of the course itself, which will take place tomorrow. Princess Charlotte (7), arrived at her new school hand in hand with her father, while Princes George (9) and Louis (4), went hand in hand with their mother, Kate Middleton.

"Are you excited?" the Lambrook headmaster asked his three new pupils as he welcomed them to the school. "Yes!" the three siblings replied in unison.

Prince George and his brother Louis wore a uniform consisting of white short-sleeved shirts and navy blue shorts, while Princess Charlotte wore the blue-and-white checkered dress of the girls' summer uniform.

It will be the first time that the three children of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge study at the same school. Until last year, Prince George and Princess Charlotte were enrolled at Thomas's Battersea, a private school in London. For his part, Prince Louis was a pupil at Willcocks Nursery School, also located in London.

According to media such as The Telegraph, Prince William and Kate wanted their children to be able to grow up with more freedom than in the British capital and therefore decided to move their residence to Windsor, which forced them to look for a new school.

Located just a few minutes' drive from Adelaide Cottage, Lambrook has a mixed student body of 615 boys and girls and tuition costs €25,000 for new pupils. Neither Prince William nor any member of the current British royal household passed through its classrooms, but the school has a historical link with this institution.

Two of Queen Victoria's grandchildren were pupils at the school, where one of the buildings now bears the name of the former monarch.
