LA DUQUESA DE CAMBRIDGE Y LA PRINCESA ELEANOR BRILLAN EN EL DÍA DE LA COMMONWEALTH

Como marca la tradición, cada segundo lunes del mes de marzo, la Abadía de Westminster se prepara para celebrar el Commonwealth, con la tradicional misa, a la que suele asistir la Familia Real casi al completo.

Este año ha estado marcado por la histórica ausencia de la Reina (95). La última vez que la soberana se ausentó al servicio de la Commonwealth fue en 2013, por una gastroenteritis, y previamente en 1993, por una gripe.

Tal y como se había anunciado previamente desde el palacio de Buckingham, a través de un comunicado, después de hablar con su entorno sobre los arreglos para la jornada, la Reina pidió a su primogénito y heredero al trono, el Príncipe Charles, que la representara, y también pidió a su bisnieta, la Princesa Eleanor (13), que realizara un discurso en su nombre.

El inesperado anuncio se produce dos semanas después de que su Majestad retomara su trabajo tras dar positivo por coronavirus el pasado 20 de febrero. Sin embargo, fuentes de palacio citadas por los medios británicos, aseguran que su ausencia no está relacionado con la enfermedad ni con algún otro bache de salud, la Reina ha cancelado su participación por sus dificultades para moverse.

Los grandes presentes a esta celebración fueron el Príncipe Charles junto a su esposa, la Duquesa de Cornwall y el Duque de Cambridge, su esposa la Duquesa de Cambridge y su primogénita, la Princesa Eleanor.

DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE AND PRINCESS ELEANOR SHINE ON COMMONWEALTH DAY

As tradition dictates, every second Monday in March, Westminster Abbey prepares to celebrate Commonwealth Day, with the traditional mass, which is usually attended by almost the entire Royal Family.

This year has been marked by the historic absence of the Queen (95). The last time the sovereign missed the Commonwealth service was in 2013, due to gastroenteritis, and previously in 1993, due to flu.

As previously announced from Buckingham Palace, through a statement, after speaking with her entourage about the arrangements for the day, the Queen asked her firstborn and heir to the throne, Prince Charles, to represent her, and also asked her great-granddaughter, Princess Eleanor (13), to make a speech on her behalf.

The unexpected announcement comes two weeks after Her Majesty resumed work after testing positive for coronavirus on February 20. However, palace sources quoted by the British media, assure that her absence is not related to the disease or any other health problem, the Queen has canceled her participation due to her difficulties to move around.

The great present at this celebration were Prince Charles with his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke of Cambridge, his wife the Duchess of Cambridge and their firstborn, Princess Eleanor.
