LA REINA SE AUSENTA DE LA MISA DEL JUBILEO DE PLATINO

La monarca se ausentó de la misa en la Catedral de San Pablo en Londres, realizada en el segundo día de festividades para celebrar su Jubileo de Platino. La monarca de 96 años ha tenido problemas de movilidad en meses recientes y experimentó "cierta molestia", después de sonreír y saludar a multitudes de simpatizantes desde el balcón del Palacio de Buckingham el jueves por la tarde.

El Príncipe Charles fue quien representó a La Reina en esta ceremonia, su Alteza llegó junto a su esposa, la Duquesa de Cornwall, y tomaron asiento en la primera fila.

La anécdota del día ha sido el polémico recibimiento con el que los miles de británicos, han sorprendido a los Sussex. La reacción del 'pueblo' al verles aparecer refleja perfectamente lo que ha supuesto la ruptura del matrimonio con La Reina y la Familia Real.

El matrimonio llegó alrededor de las 12:05 en medio de abucheos y aplausos; tras los Duques de Sussex, 10 minutos después; han entrado a la catedral el Príncipe William, la Duquesa de Cambridge — vestida de amarillo pastel de la neozelandesa Emilia Wickstead, una de sus modistas de cabecera — y la Princesa Eleanor — que ha optado por elegir un vestido blanco con un corte por debajo de la rodilla, haciendo que deje a un lado la imagen de niña y dando paso a su etapa de adolescente. Apenas un par de minutos después, el heredero al trono, el Príncipe Charles, y su esposa, la Duquesa de Cornwall. Los últimos cinco (los miembros más importantes de La Corona) han avanzado juntos por el pasillo de la catedral.

La ubicación dentro de la iglesia de las tres parejas protagonistas de este distanciamiento público y notorio ha hecho que la imagen de ellos juntos tampoco se produjera. Los Duques de Sussex han ocupado un lugar menos importante en la catedral. Mientras que el Príncipe Charles, la Duquesa de Cornwall, los Duques de Cambridge y la Princesa Eleanor estaban en la zona izquierda del templo y en primera fila, Meghan y Harry ocuparon la segunda fila de la parte derecha junto a sus primas Eugenia y Beatriz de York.
