WILLIAM, KATE, ELEANOR, HARRY Y MEGHAN; JUNTOS POR PRIMERA VEZ DESPUÉS DE DOS AÑOS Y MEDIO

Los Príncipes de Wales y los Duques de Sussex han protagonizado la imagen más inesperada de la jornada, en un gesto de una posible reconciliación. William, el heredero al trono británico, acudía en la mañana de este sábado al acto de proclamación de su padre, Charles III, como Rey. Por la tarde, fuera de toda agenda y programación, un gran coche negro paraba a las puertas del Castillo Windsor. De el bajaba William, que lo conducía, su esposa, Kate, y la hija mayor de ambos, Eleanor. La sorpresa llegaba cuando de la parte trasera del vehículo descendían Harry y Meghan Markle.

Los cinco han caminado juntos hasta las verjas del castillo para pasear entre los cientos de ramos de flores, notas y recuerdos que los ciudadanos habían dejado a las puertas de la residencia de la Reina.

En un paseo de 40 minutos, Kate se ha agachado para hablar con una niña, la joven Banita Ranow, de 28 años, ha revelado al diario británico Daily Mail que la ha escuchado explicar a los niños las palabras del Príncipe Louis, el hijo más pequeño de los cuatro que tiene, al conocer la muerte de su bisabuela.
"Mi pequeño Louis es tan dulce. Dijo: 'Mamá, no te preocupes, porque ahora está con el bisabuelo'", contaba a la multitud la ya Princesa de Wales, también Duquesa de Cambridge y de Cornwall.

También ha revelado que sus hijos siguen asistiendo al colegio a pesar de la muerte de la Reina "Queremos que sigan teniendo unos días normales, darles un poco de estabilidad, hemos tenido muchos cambios en las últimas semanas, colegio nuevo y casa nueva", todo esto lo decía mientras acaricia la espalda de su hija mayor, Eleanor, quien se le ha visto muy afectada por el suceso. Elizabeth White, de 56 años, reveló que la joven de 13 años tenía unas lágrimas en su rostro, "Se notaba que estaba muy afectada, normalmente se la ve sonriendo pero esta vez tenía la cabeza agachada mientras trataba de contener de que cayeran lágrimas y a la vez seguía a su madre. Kate estuvo muy atenta a ella, la acariciaba el brazo, la espalda y la cabeza; trataba de consolarla. Le dije (a Eleanor) que su bisabuela estará siempre con ella y le pregunté si podría abrazarla a lo que ella asintió".

Más de un asistente ha tratado de hacer que la ahora segunda heredera sonriera un poco y algunos lo han logrado. Matilda Bailey, de 36 años, dijo "Hemos notado como la Princesa Eleanor desde que llegó mantenía un semblante triste. Nos ha roto el corazón verla así, así que cómo lo haríamos con nuestros hijos en estos casos, hemos tratado de sacarle un pequeña sonrisa y lo hemos logrado"

El reencuentro de los cinco en un acto público ha sido toda una sorpresa, tanto para los allí presentes como para la prensa británica

Según declara The Guardian, ha sido el nuevo Príncipe de Gales quien ha invitado a su hermano y a su cuñada a unirse a él, a Kate y su hija para agradecer los gestos de cariño.

La última vez que coincidieron en el mismo espacio y de forma pública fue en junio, en la misa por el Jubileo de Platino de Elizabeth II, pero entraron y salieron de la catedral en momentos distintos, y una vez dentro se sentaron en alas opuestas. No se les pudo fotografiar juntos. La última instantánea de los cinco, donde ya hubo gestos tensos y donde Harry y Meghan caminaron y se sentaron detrás de los entonces Duques de Cambridge, fue en un servicio religioso por el día de la Commonwealth el 9 de marzo de 2020, que también fue su último acto público en el Reino Unido.

El gesto de William hacia Harry, invitándole a este paseo, dejándose ver juntos en un primer acto informal, parece un pequeño acercamiento para poder cerrar la herida abierta entre los hermanos. El abandono de la Familia Real por parte del pequeño de los hijos de Charles III y la difunta Princesa Diana impactó profundamente en el primogénito. El distanciamiento de los hermanos también se debe a las múltiples entrevistas concedidas por los Duques de Sussex, donde han desvelado intimidades de la Familia Real.

The Prince and Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have starred in the most unexpected image of the day, in a gesture of a possible reconciliation. William, the heir to the British throne, attended on Saturday morning the ceremony of proclamation of his father, Charles III, as King. In the afternoon, out of all agenda and programming, a large black car stopped at the gates of Windsor Castle. William, who drove it, his wife, Kate, and their eldest daughter, Eleanor, got out of the car. The surprise came when Harry and Meghan Markle descended from the back of the vehicle.

The five walked together to the castle gates to stroll among the hundreds of bouquets of flowers, notes and souvenirs that citizens had left at the gates of the Queen's residence.

In a 40-minute walk, Kate has bent down to talk to a little girl, the young Banita Ranow, 28, has revealed to the British newspaper Daily Mail that she has heard her explain to the children the words of Prince Louis, the youngest son of the four she has, on learning of the death of his great-grandmother.
"My little Louis is so sweet. He said, 'Mummy, don't worry, because he's with great-grandpa now,'" the now Princess of Wales, also Duchess of Cambridge and Duchess of Cornwall, told the crowd.

She also revealed that her children are still attending school despite the Queen's death "We want to keep them having normal days, give them a bit of stability, we've had a lot of changes in the last few weeks, new school and new house", all this she said while stroking the back of her eldest daughter, Eleanor, who has been very affected by the event. Elizabeth White, 56, revealed that the 13-year-old had some tears on her face, "You could tell she was very upset, normally you see her smiling but this time she had her head down as she tried to hold back tears and at the same time followed her mother. Kate was very attentive to her, stroking her arm, her back and her head; she was trying to comfort her. I told her (Eleanor) that her great-grandmother will always be with her and asked if she could hug her to which she nodded."

More than one attendee has tried to get the now second heiress to smile a little and some have succeeded. Matilda Bailey, 36, said "We have noticed how Princess Eleanor since she arrived kept a sad countenance. It has broken our hearts to see her like that, so as we would do with our children in these cases, we have tried to get a little smile out of her and we have succeeded."

The reunion of the five in a public event has been a surprise, both for those present and for the British press.

According to The Guardian, it was the new Prince of Wales who invited his brother and sister-in-law to join him, Kate and his daughter to thank them for the gestures of affection.

The last time they coincided in the same space and in a public way was in June, at the Mass for the Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II, but they entered and left the cathedral at different times, and once inside they sat in opposite wings. They could not be photographed together. The last snapshot of the five, where there were already tense gestures and where Harry and Meghan walked and sat behind the then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, was at a church service for Commonwealth Day on March 9, 2020, which was also their last public event in the UK.

William's gesture towards Harry, inviting him to this walk, letting themselves be seen together in a first informal act, seems a small rapprochement in order to close the open wound between the brothers. The abandonment of the Royal Family by the youngest son of Charles III and the late Princess Diana had a deep impact on the firstborn.
