Purge Them!

Across the streets of Lungmen in all directions, maintenance hole covers of the sewers were being pulled open by Enclave forces, and the reluctant soldiers crawled into the dank darkness below.

The soldiers of the Enclave were surprised by the order given to them. First, they were happy to rip Lungmen apart to find the last of Reunion, but soon their frantic leaders had utterly abandoned their objectives and ordered most of them into the sewers.

Dozens of squads, equal to hundreds of soldiers, are seen by everyone in Lungmen cramming into the holes in the ground. Many civilians looked on in curiosity and confusion as the Enclave soldiers vanished below the streets, all while squad leaders and platoon officers shouted the same orders across the city.

"Do not remove your helmets!"

"Re-programme the drones to light the tunnels!"

"Watch your surroundings. Trust nothing by your fellow Enclave!"

"Don't drink the water!" Ew

"Bring in the purge flamers!"

The soldiers were nervous but ready for a fight. It was not long before 20 power-armoured soldiers were no longer alone in the sewers. It seemed that hundreds of Farsight's soldiers would soon be joining them. The only downside was that no heavy equipment like tanks or battlesuits could get through the early stage of tunnels, which annoyed Farsight.

Farsight had no real options. Seneschal and Mal-Mal were too far away, Agenta was closer but would take time to get here, and the other secret untested divisions Farsight created had yet to be tested in the field and were not ready nor close to battle-ready environments.

He only had one option, and that was his Fire-Caste soldiers. He knew they would be capable, but without heavy support, it was a gamble, and whatever lurked in the darkness below them would test their resolve. He would ensure Mal-Mal had High Haven ready and equipped to deal with many PTSD patients.

Now Farsight had another problem. His battlesuit couldn't fit in the Sewers; it could work in the larger chambers, but getting there was the issue.

"I'm sorry, Commander, your battlesuit could, in theory, enter the sewers, but you would have no chance of manoeuvring, and if you needed to escape, you couldn't. You would also block all other soldiers from advancing or retreating." One of his Lupo squad leaders, who had yet to enter the tunnels below, stated bluntly.

"*Sigh* Thank you, soldier. Carry on" Farsight waved the soldier away and looked around with a frown.

How had Farsight not noticed the dozens of cameras pointing at him? It looked like hundreds of people were watching him. The only thing stopping the crowd from getting closer was the select few soldiers ordered to stay topside.

From the crowd, he could see many familiar faces. First, a panting Ch'en must have raced here when she was informed of his presence, and naturally, she was glaring at him. Next, the taller Oni Hoshiguma was behind her and placed her hand on her shoulder, stopping her from rushing towards him and then Swire, who seemed to be making it worse for the growling Ch'en by making fun of her. Didn't these ladies have jobs to do or something??

What caught Farsight's attention was the Cautus girl waving at him, trying to get his attention from behind some Enclave soldiers holding her and a group of operators back.

'Amiya, you silly girl' Farsight smiled at her, not that she could see the smile. He missed his little Donkey, and maybe he could convince her to join the Enclave. Hmmm.

In other parts of the crowd, more familiar and suspicious groups could be seen. A group of Halo's in the corner, near an alley, recording him and the Enclave soldiers around the area. Laterano was trying to get information, it seemed. He silently told his soldiers to be wary of their Sankta observers over the radio. Knowing full well that the Sankta of Laterano didn't take kindly to other factions with more and better firepower, it won't be long before they try something stupid.

There was one more person in the crowd that caught his attention. He had seen her face multiple times in the High Haven database. However, Farsight was wary of her as High Haven had surprisingly very little info on her. Laterano was very secretive about this individual.

A Beautiful blue-haired Sankta with Sarkaz horns and a tail made many people around her give her strange looks. The Sankta hybrid in question did not seem bothered by the faces in the slightest and smiled away without a care. Farsight's censors could easily see that her eyes followed his every move.

'Mostima', He thought.

Mal-Mal once mentioned that she attempted to approach Mostima for recruitment but ended up with Mostima attacking her. Unfortunately, mal-Mal had lost soundly to the Hybrid and had to retreat. When Farsight questioned why Mostima attacked her, she told him she would tell him another day.

What is it with powerful, mysterious and beautiful women? Why am I attracting them so quickly!? Farsight Bemoaned internally before shuddering as he once again looked at Mostima. Her smile had gotten wider, and her eyelids had lowered slightly, almost as if she was reading his thoughts and was amused by what she had heard!

Maybe she knew something! Has she perhaps sensed something from him?

Farsight shook away such thoughts before his battlesuit lowed close to the floor. He put on a standard white Enclave helmet to cover his face and opened the chest compartment, allowing him to jump out. Enclave soldiers circled Farsight in case anyone from the crowd attempted anything.

All eyes followed Farsight's every move. Many were shocked at him exiting the battlesuit. Plenty of them believed that he was a machine, not a man. Yet, Farsight stood tall before his battlesuit, wearing his black skintight synthetic layer covered in small armoured plates.

Without warning, the battlesuit rose tall and fled the scene without Farsight. He certainly wasn't going to leave his battlesuit out in the open unsupervised, so Farsight activated an Autopilot feature that would send the impressive mech suit back to base, leaving the tall well, built Enclave leader surrounded by his soldiers.

Everyone around continued to stare at him in shock or awe. Ch'en looked shocked at first but soon glared again. Hoshiguma and Swire looked surprised. Amiya was waving and jumping frantically, still trying to get his attention, and Mostima was looking through his goddamn soul with a smile still etched on her face; if she was shocked, she didn't show it.

Farsight ignored the crowd, walked over to the maintenance hole, and jumped into it. The light of the street quickly faded to the dark and musky air of the sewers. Seconds after jumping into the hole, his feet felt cold and wet as he touches the bottom. Horrible squelching noises could be heard with every step. The sewage water must have been knee-deep.

Many of the Enclave soldiers turned quickly to look at him with weapons raised but promptly relaxed. Speaking of weapons, of course, Farsight didn't think this through; he had no weapons, not even his smaller sword.

He wasn't defenceless by any means. On the contrary, he knew he could punch harder than most and summon a special sword when the time was right due to being a Living Saint, but until then, one of his soldiers handed him a pulse pistol. A more significant weapon than standard Sankta-type sidearms and could pack more punch.

Farsight quickly moved to the head of the soldiers that entered this part of the sewers. About thirty soldiers in total; most took comfort that hundreds of their brothers and sisters were somewhere in this darkness.

"Follow quietly. Watch our backs," Farsight commanded.

"Yes, sir! You heard him." The squad leader whisper-shouted.

The large group of soldiers trudged cautiously but hurriedly through the foul claustrophobic sewer pipes, a drone placed between every 5th soldier to lighten the pipeline.

One soldier notices a large spider on the pipe wall and shudders.

"That's one big ass spider!" The soldier whispers to the soldiers next to him.

"Shhhh!" The Squad leader shushes him quickly.

"...Hey... Is it me, or is the Commander glowing?" A Lupo male whispers further back, seeing the golden glow surrounding their Leader. Almost every soldier heard the comment and looked at Farsight in surprise, and he was undoubtedly glowing.

Although none could see, the few Sankta present stared at Farsight in reverence at the holy glow he seemed to be creating. Even the squad leader forgot to chastise the soldiers for speaking again as his curiosity peaked at the strange light.

Farsight heard the comment but ignored it; he was utterly oblivious to the looks his soldiers behind were giving him. He was too busy reading all the information on his own HUD. So far, none of his infantry inside the Lungmen sewers had encountered the Disposal squad or any enemies.

They continued further down into the sewers with little trouble, coming across the occasional spider or rat but no Reunion. Farsight only seemed to glow brighter the further into the darkness they went.

Suddenly, Farsight raised his fist into a stop motion, instantly stopping the group. The only sound that could be heard briefly was the filthy knee-deep water rushing past them.

"Commander?" The squad leader whispers close to Farsight.

"Can you hear that?" Farsight asks without looking back.

The squad leader tried to listen for a few moments but heard nothing. "Sorry, sir. I hear nothing."

"No matter, keep moving!" Farsight motioned forward again.

It wasn't long before the faint sounds of gunshots could be heard deeper into the tunnel.

"I hear something now, sir!"

"Let's go!" Farsights moves swiftly through the watery pipe, his soldiers behind trying to keep up as best they can, but the knee-deep water makes it more challenging.

Without warning, a tired, strained voice cuts through the silent earpieces of the infantry helmets and deep into their ears. "I say again! is anyone there!"

"This is the Farsight. Identify yourself," Farsight quickly responds.

"Fire-Caste-Squad-42!" The voice shouts of pulse rifle fire in the background.

"What the situation 42," Farsight asks hurriedly.

"Multiple squads have found a massive inner chamber. Reunion forces currently engage us!."

"Send out your coordinates across all Enclave channels!" Farsight orders quickly.

"We've been trying, sir! But something is preventing us!" The distressed soldier shouts over the radio.

"Dammit!" The squad leader behind Farsight swears.

With plenty of gunfire, shouts and groaning could be heard louder in the distressed soldier's background.

"There's something else! Something is wrong with Reunion!" The soldier yells over the noise.

"Wrong? Explain 42" Farsight commands.

"They're a sickly green colour, bloated and can take multiple shots before dying. When some die, they explode, throwing puss everywhere!" The distressed soldier keeps yelling, stopping now and then to shoot at his attackers.

Farsight hoped this wouldn't have been the case. Big Sis showed him what deluded fools that follow a dead god could become, and every single Reunion soldier in these sewers needed to be incinerated. Once they were done, he would have to send countless soldiers down here with flamethrowers to purge everything!

"Hold on, soldier. We're coming!" Farsight announced before moving quicker.

He opened a channel to every soldier under his command that had entered the sewers. "All Enclave soldiers currently in the sewers, This is Commander Farsight! Look for a massive inner chamber and engage everything that isn't us!"

Farsight wasn't sure if the message got through, but that was pointless to worry about now. They could hear the gunfire getting louder and louder.

After a few minutes of trying to run through sewage water, they came to the exit to the sewer pipe that led into what Farsight could easily say was a massive inner chamber.

The pipe they were in was higher than others, and they looked down across what could only be described as a battlefield. The chamber itself was massive, which was an understatement. If the blueprints of Lungmen that High Haven provided were correct, then this must have been the previous freshwater tank for the city before it was polluted due to poor design. Who would build sewerage pipes above a freshwater tank?

Farsight wished he could say that the battle lines between his forces and these Reunion abominations were noticeable, but they weren't. Reunion and Enclave soldiers were practically pushing against each other. His infantry was desperately trying to hold a battle line against the enemy.

Much to Farsight's relief, he could see the Disposal squad further into the sickly Reunion masses, cutting and gunning them down with relative ease. But, unfortunately, he could only see about eleven of them, not the original twenty. The Power armoured Kuranta was swinging his thunder hammers rapidly through the mass of stumbling bodies and launching them high up and onto the heads of their fellow infected; most were not getting back up.

It is evident to Farsight and the infantry behind him how Reunion had closed the gap so quickly. Reunion wasn't dying fast enough. He could see many Reunion soldiers with extra limbs and nasty-looking green mouldy axes and swords taking multiple rounds to the torso and head before going down, only to be replaced by a few more.

The noises of the shouts, gunfire and gross explosions were echoing in such a chamber, giving everyone nightmares. The sounds of his frightened soldiers yelping and yelling across the battlefield were heart-wrenching. He never expected them to face such horrific, disgusting entities!

With his massive stomach cut open and his intestines dragging behind him, a bloated-looking Logger ran towards some of his frightened soldiers with a wicked-looking, jagged axe. His soldiers quickly concentrated fire on the bloated Logger's head, which put him down quickly. Still, before his soldiers could find new targets, the Logger exploded in a disgusted Yellow pussy mess, throwing a dozen of his soldiers over the heads of more soldiers and into the filthy water.

"Commander! we haven't been spotted. We could surprise them from the flank!" The squad leader next to Farsight forces his eyes away from the moral-destroying battle before them and onto his Leader.

Farsight is about to reply but stops when he sees someone surrounded by heavily armoured Reunion defenders behind the mass of Infected Reunion swarms.

"Mephisto," Farsight whispers in fury and hatred.

His vision soon starts turning gold.

Done!

I do like Mostima! She's in my top 5 waifu list for Arknights. Maybe I should add her to the Harem. I know I said it was final, but writing about her got me interested in her. Thoughts?

Why would Farsight's vision turn gold? Wouldn't it usually turn red?

We are getting close to the removal of the Reunion.

I own no Art or Gifs.

Thanks for everything!
