Can We Survive What's Comming

Hey!

Another sort of reaction chapter.

Slightly rushed to get out before bedtime, which is 4 am, apparently.

Let us get back to it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Kal'tsit?" Came a sad voice.

"*Sigh* Yes, Amiya?" The Lynx sighed and asked, knowing what was coming.

"Dokutah is still alive," Amiya said for the 17th time.

It had been a few days since the encounter at L.G.D headquarters with the one known as Farsight claiming that Doctor Y/n was dead. A revelation that upset many Operators, Amiya and herself included. She would admit to losing her cool once she found out Y/n was dead. But, of course, seeing Monst3r defeated so quickly in front of so many people didn't help.

"Amiya, we have been over this. Please let it go," Kal'tsit says in pity and frustration.

"No! He's not dead. He would have had a plan." Amiya raised her voice.

Kal'tsit stopped writing on her computer and glared at Amiya, causing the Cautus to glare back as best she could. Amiya had become a lot more snappy after hearing about Y/n death.

"Amiya! We have more important things to do than mourn." Kal'tsit attempted to be diplomatic.

"You wouldn't mourn at all! You would probably have joined Blaze in the Cafeteria, cheering and laughing at Dokutah's death!" Amiya runs away crying, slamming the office door behind her making Kal'tsit flinch.

Kal'tsit sat back and sighed for what had to be the 20th time today. After the encounter with Farsight, she felt unsure about what to do. Operators were at each other throats over simple things, Y/n was usually good at making people talk to each other, but her intimidating presence could only do so much.

Right now, she was desperately trying to keep her alliance with Lungmen going even tho her mind kept drifting to Amiya and Y/n. Her hand instinctively returned to her pocket and played with a wedding band. As she always did when she thought of Y/n. She sighed again.

-

Amiya was walking down the corridor after leaving Kal'tsits office and found herself in the large open Atrium of Rhodes Island. That's when she saw Blaze. Her eyes darkened, remembering after returning from their encounter with Farsight; Blaze was toasting the death of Dokutah.

"Miss Amiya/Amiya?" Came the voice of Blue Poison and Nearl.

Amiya shook her head and looked at the two Operators with a forced smile, eyes still red from crying a few minutes ago. Blue Poison stepped over and pulled the Cautus girl into a hug.

"Hmm, oh, thank you, Blue Poison!" Amiya smiled kindly at the Operator as Blue Poison backed off.

"Ahahaha," The laugh of Blaze sounded across the Atrium. Amiya's eyes darkened again, and her fists clenched as if she was trying to control herself. Nearl noticed this and looked concerned. Nearl was a veteran in combat. She knew that Amiya was not one to be taken lightly. The dark look in her eyes was giving Nearl warning signals.

Without warning, Amiya turned and started walking towards Blaze. Nearl's eyes widened as she gestured for Blue Poison to follow.

"Amiya?" Nearl called out. The Cautus didn't seem to hear her.

"Miss Amiya?" Blue poison called out, concerned.

Amiya traversed the Atrium until she was a few meters from Blaze, who was still laughing and grinning with some of the other Operators. Nearl and Blue Poison are not far behind.

Before Nearl could react, she saw Amiya dash for Blaze with Arts covering her hand, which was starting to crack her rings. If she could see her eyes, she would have seen they were completely black and devoid of her usual optimism or kindness.

"Amiya!" Nearl charges ahead to stop her.

Blaze hearing Amiya's name shouted close by, turned only to see Amiya a few feet from her with a charged fist coming for her face. Blaze had no time to react before she was struck square in the nose and sent flying through a wall, everything going black for her.

Amiya stood there glaring darkly at where Blaze had been punched too, only for Nearl to jump on her along with other Operators, sending her to the floor in a heap.

"Blue Poison! get Dr Kal'tsit now!" Nearl shouted at the pink-haired Operator, who ran off to find her.

Amiya just lay there, not responding. Her eyes were still dark and emotionless.

-

"So let me get you straight; Farsight is not just a machine but a man in a machine that came into your hospital room, gave you information for free, and then proceeded to tie you to your bed and harass you sexually?" Wei Yenwu asked Ch'en with a surprised but amused smile as he smoked his pipe.

Hoshiguma and Swire stood off to the side, watching their work colleague and friend rant about Farsight to the chief of Lungmen. Both couldn't help hiding their laughs; Hoshiguma hid her smile, but Swire laughed at the raging Lung openly.

"yes! and stop laughing, you bitchy tiger!" Ch'en raged.

"Gao! who are you calling bitchy? I will tell your boy toy Farsight you're not being ladylike!" Swire snaps back while trying not to laugh.

Ch'en was about to draw her sword as she gritted her teeth.

"Enough!" Wei Yenwu shouts, forcing them all to stand down.

He continues, "We will discuss what he did to you later, Ch'en, but for now, what information did he give you that forced you to ignore my order to rest and run all the way here?"

"This!" Ch'en passes the folder that Farsight gave her the day before to Wei.

Wei Yenwu's eyes scan the contents before nodding in understanding, "If this is true, then we are in dire trouble."

"What's going on, Chief?" Hoshiguma asks politely.

"Two thousand refugees are making their way here, but this information suggests that every single one of them are Reunion sent to reinforce those already in the city." Wei Yenwu replied casually, not paying much attention to the widened eyes of both Hoshiguma and Swire.

"What?!" Swire shouts.

"Calm down, Superintendent. There is no cause for concern." Wei Yenwu states, taking another puff of his pipe with little care to the shocking information given.

"Huh?" All three ladies ask the chief simultaneously.

"There is no longer any threat regarding this 'army'. Therefore, concentrate on the enemies within Lungmen now." Wei Yenwu commands, confusing the three further.

"If this army gets to Lungmen, we will not have the numbers to stop them!" Ch'en demands.

"They're dead" Wei Yenwu drops the bomb. He was enjoying the reactions he was causing.

All three ladies stare at him for a moment. "What?" Swire asks, confused.

"Scout drones returned a few hours ago; look" He points to the screen on the other side of his office before turning it on with a remote.

What Ch'en, Swire and Hoshiguma saw shocked them to the core.

A massive army of Reunion was being engaged and slaughtered by a superior military in strange green armour with more firepower than Laterano could ever dream of. What shocked them even further was the mention of Farsight Enclave?! These were part of the same faction as Farsight! They look nothing like what they had seen in Lungmen. A sub-faction of the main one?

Swire's eyes were wide, and her mouth was moving up and down, trying to think of something to say. Hoshiguma just stared in shock, and Ch'en was having a meltdown.

"What if they come here?! We can't take on that!" Ch'en paced as she demanded of Wei Yenwu.

"They are moving North towards Chernobog, not towards us. They are clearly after Reunion. Besides, This Farsight seems to have taken a liking to you, Ch'en. I doubt he would destroy Lungmen. Perhaps we can open negotiations with him and his faction? Maybe we can have you seduce him?." Wei Yenwu smiles at the spluttering and blushing Ch'en.

"Gao! Ahahaha!" Swire laughs harder at Ch'ens reaction.

-

"Care to repeat that?" A cold voice grits out.

"A-An unknown group intercepted the reinforcements sent to Lungmen; they are all gone; we are all that's left." A ragged and exhausted Reunion soldier stands before Talulah. The others that survived the battle were there and were shaking in fear.

Talulah was sitting there gripping her sword tight, knuckles turning white. W looked surprised by this turn of events, she was initially meant to go with that army, but Talulah changed her mind last minute. Would she have survived that encounter? Probably but still worth thinking about.

Patriot was standing there quietly. Two thousand dead, just like that? not even the emperor's blades would be that efficient. He placed a hand on Frostnova's shoulder, who was staring at the survivors in shock. She had to send a dozen of her Yeti Squadron with the army to contribute to a united force, but now? a part of her family was dead!

"How" Talulah spat in anger.

"The Farsight Enclave ambushed us," The soldier replied in defeat.

"Farsight Enclave... The tech freaks hiding in Lungmen? Do they have an army now?" Talulah asked in cold fury.

"One of the scouts had recorded a part of the battle, My lady," Another soldier calls out from the group.

"Show me!" Talulah shouts.

The soldier races forward to a nearby computer and uploads the footage. Talulah, W, Frostnova and Patriot come closer to look.

Talulah's eyes widen in shock and fury. How was this possible?! This unknown factor was derailing all her planning. The amount of firepower they were using was ridiculous! How can she match that? She would burn them! Yes, get amidst their numbers and burn them all.

W stared in wonder and excitement with a hint of fear. Could she have survived all that? Now she wasn't sure. She could have taken a sniper shot to the face if she wasn't careful. She would have to play safer from now on, Messing with Rhodes Island was easy, but this was a more significant threat. She needs to step lightly. Maybe she could find this Farsight and convince him to join them or her for a night. Oh yes, she would undoubtedly play with danger.

Frostnova stared in horror at the slaughter, She couldn't see any of her Yeti squadron in the mass of white, but she knew they were there and being slaughtered. This wasn't a battle! How could they hope to defeat something like that?! She could freeze plenty, sure but then what? Could she even get close to them with the long-range firepower raining against them? Frostnova was honestly terrified. Her yeti squadron had to avoid this faction at all costs, regardless of Talulah's orders.

Patriot had seen suffering on a large scale, but never before had he seen something like that. Not even the Sarkaz civil war saw as many bodies falling in such a short time. He and those following him relied on heavy armour and shields but against all that? No, he knew that he would be a sitting duck. He would have to find a new method of an engagement or perhaps not engage at all.

The footage had finished, but no one had said a word. Talulah's eyes were getting colder and colder as her teeth clenched tight.

"W-We also believe they may be coming here," A soldier replied in the back.

Talulah and the rest turned to the survivors.

"Explain!" Talulah orders.

"We saw them turning north in this direction, not southwest to continue to Lungmen."

"Heh, Well, Shit," W chuckles.

"W! Frostnova! Patriot! Prepare Chernobog for an attack, every street, every building, every entrance I want to be barricaded, trapped, blocked and defended." Talulah orders in a fury.

The three look at each other before nodding reluctantly. Frostnova was desperately trying to find a way to survive with her squadron. W will fight with her mercenaries but needs a plan B for them to escape when they get overwhelmed. Only a fool thinks they will come out on top. Patriot will fight to the end if he must, as long as Frostnova is safe.

How were they going to survive this battle? Only time will tell.

Done!

I wasn't going to write this chapter today because of writing the other story, but I felt I needed to. Sorry if it feels rushed. I just wanted to get it out before I went to bed.

These are just some reactions from those that were involved in some way

Thanks for everything and the votes!
