Caught And Shattered

Hey!

Longest chapter to date! 2389

Let us get back to it.

High Haven's info centre was in a state of chaos. Everyone in High Haven had received a picture of their Leader Farsight making out with a Lupo they knew as Texas of Penguin Logistics.

The kissing part didn't bother them, apart from a few of the women around who had a crush on their Leader, but what bothered them all was the fact that this would prove to be a weakness of Farsight, and now everyone with any semblance of power in Terra has received the picture.

Texas of Penguin Logistics has just been revealed to be a weak point and Achilles heel of Farsight, even if some people shrugged, believing there was no harm in the picture.

The short-sighted not realising the implications.

Unknown to High Haven, Texas had become Farsight's top priority because she revealed she was pregnant to him, which would only make the situation worse when a pregnant Texas was inevitably targeted.

And now High Haven was trying to stop this blatant attack on the Enclave with little success.

"Can we run damage control?" HHIO 1 asked in concern. (HHIO = High Haven Info Operator)

"No...The picture is out now; nothing we can do about it." HHIO 3 replied.

"How many of those messages went out?" HHIO 2 asked in concern.

HHIO 1 and 3 looked at each other before replying.

"..."

"..."

"...Thousands... All over Terra," HHIO 1 revealed.

"Damn it!" HHIO 2 cursed.

"It actually gets worse," HHIO 1 said.

"Eh? How?" HHIO 2 asked.

"Twenty minutes ago, a bounty was posted to every Merc, criminal and company with a less than stellar moral code." HHIO 3 replied in frustration.

"How much and for who?" HHIO 2.

"50 Million LMD for Texas, Dead or Alive," HHIO 1 responded.

"...They really wanna hurt Farsight, huh?" HHIO 2 said as all three went quiet for a while.

"We believe the Bounty is a collaboration between the Siracusan Mafia, Rhine Labs, Ursus and a few others." HHIO 1.

"We have caught electronic signatures from those specific groups in particular, but there are more, no doubt about it." HHIO 3 told 2.

"*Sigh* Nothing can be simple, can it? So who will be the one to tell all of this to Farsight?" HHIO 1 asked.

The other two Info operators went silent again before starting a Rock, Paper, Scissors game to determine the sacrifice.

Ch'en was sitting in a downtown eatery, aggressively cutting into a large steak and chewing on it in stress-induced anger. Madam Ch'en stewed in anger and embarrassment at her biggest enemy's latest attack on her person.

What in Terra was that man's problem? Why does he insist on screwing with her life? What was his latest insult to her?

Sending her a maid outfit!

Sending her a maid outfit while at work! That instigating little sh*t must of knew her officers would have opened the package to check for any threats. But, instead, he once again went out of his way to humiliate her...

And why did the maid outfit fit her perfectly!? How did he get her waist size and cup size...

She couldn't ask anyone about it because she would have to admit she put the outfit on as soon as she got home. Getting a taste of dressing up convinced Ch'en to order a feather duster to complete the outfit.

It sickened her how much she enjoyed dressing up.

What would Farsight say if he walked in on her wearing it, bent over, dusting some shelves... Would he approach her with a stern face and make demands... Would he...

"Hey there, sexy..." A large Sarkaz man approached Ch'en with a confident smirk on his face.

Ch'ens blushing face disappeared quickly at the voice of the arrogant man that approached her and was replaced with her previous angry snarl.

"Get lost!" Ch'en growled in warning as she chewed her steak aggressively.

"Heh, don't be like that... Eating here all alone. Did some guy ditch you?" The arrogant man sat opposite her, a smirk still plastered on his punchable face.

Ch'en was about to reply when her phone vibrated.

She was choosing her phone over replying to the man. She pulled the device out of her pocket and opened the messages.

...

...

The Sarkaz man didn't know what happened. The hot Lung woman ignored him over her phone, but when he attempted to reach for her hand, she glared at him with a look of total fury, hate, and betrayal?

In seconds, the Sarkaz man found himself lying on a shattered table with a broken nose, and one of his horns ripped off his head. His vision was blurry from the massive impact he had just received from the Lung woman.

All the Sarkaz saw at that moment was a dark silhouette of the Lung woman above him, her blurry, dark figure and piercing glowing red eyes staring down at him.

He watched in confusion and dread as the blurry figure raised her foot and brought it down onto his face for a knockout blow.

'What in Terra caused her to act so violently?' was the last thing that entered the Sarkaz's mind before his world went dark.

~

Mostima honestly felt good about herself. Finally, she had contacted the Living Saint and saw him struggle with a rat burger simultaneously, a win-win.

Until she received a message on her phone that ruined her day.

She purposefully contacted Farsight to warn him about what was coming for him in the form of the law of Laterano, and what does he do?

In the middle of the open, he starts kissing a woman!

And not just any woman, Texas of all people!?

Mostima found herself frowning, and it frustrated her, smile damn it, smile!

When did Farsight get so friendly with Texas? She never mentioned anything to her, and Exusiai said nothing either. Mostima hoped Exusiai was taking this well, knowing that the Apple pie-loving Sankta didn't like it when Mostima or Texas received the attention that wasn't from her.

Mostima was unaware that Exusiai was in a bath, enjoying herself at the thought of Farsight wearing only an apron.

Because of that stupid picture, the Law of Laterano will know how to strike at Farsight, and she can do nothing to stop it. So Farsight had dug his grave, and he had to crawl out of it before it was too late. And because he didn't take her warning to heart, he unintentionally endangered Texas.

Mostima walked through Lungmen, trying to smile but knowing that Texas would be targeted was stressing her out.

The one time Texas decided to do something that would put her in the spotlight...

Warfarin panted hard as she barged into Kal'tsit's office without knocking.

"Kal!?" Warfarin looked around, not seeing her Lynx friend anywhere.

Warfarin was about to leave to continue the search but noticed that paperwork was still on the desk and the lights were on.

The vampire approached the cluttered desk and picked up the half-drunk mug of coffee. The coffee in the cup was lukewarm; Kal'tsit would always finish her coffee.

Dread started to fill Warfarin.

Warfarin put down the mug and started walking back to the door but stopped when she felt something hard under her foot pressing against the sole of her footwear.

She moved her foot and saw a golden ring.

She could already see it was the ring from Kal'tsit's wedding photo, but now it looked like it had been damaged and couldn't be worn.

Almost as if someone had squeezed the ring so hard it crushed the poor thing. The amount of strength required for that was not easy to replicate.

Kal'tsit was gone, She had lost control, and there was only one person she was looking for.

Farsight... Or was it Texas? Either fills Warfarin with anxiety.

Warfarin ran out of the room, ready to bring every operator Rhodes Island had to bare.

They had to find Kal'tsit before she did something they would all regret.

"I won't kill him... I want to, but that won't solve any problems, will it?" Agenta said to herself as she walked back and forth in the Enclave headquarters control room.

The room was full of employees doing their daily tasks, but most kept giving Agenta worried looks. A picture of Farsight and Texas kissing was on one of the big screens.

Many of the employees had known Agenta since before Farsight joined. They watched Agenta, over time, go from Cold and strict to obsessive and jealous and back again. Her attitude and outlook changed depending on what Farsight did.

Her constant mood swings had thrown many of them into a continuous state of caution and wariness, and now here, Agenta was, pacing back and forth, talking to herself.

When they saw the picture of their Leader and that Lupo, they assumed Lady Agenta would freak out and go on the warpath but to their astonishment, she merely started talking to herself, which must be her coping mechanism.

There was a unified sigh of relief.

Agenta wanted to go on the warpath, which was true, but she knew how that would go. Farsight has chosen the Lupo Texas over her, and as much as she wanted to deny it, the reality was cold and unforgiving, just like always.

She wanted to act like a little girl again, kick and shout, then cry and pout, but she wasn't a little girl anymore. So she wouldn't act like one.

She wanted to cry but wouldn't. No one deserved her tears.

Not even Farsight.

The almost heartbroken woman stopped pacing, closed her eyes and sighed in frustration.

"My lady?" A nervous female Feline employee with long black hair approached the pacing woman.

The Division leader opened her eyes and stared at the Feline, wondering if her subordinate could see the hurt in her eyes. Agenta didn't reply; she held out her hand and accepted the datapad the Feline was presenting.

Without a word, Agenta skimmed through the datapad and smiled bitterly to herself. Finally, her new company was about to come to fruition. Again, a new section was being added to High Haven, but this time, they were building deep into the ground for safety and security reasons.

The new section of High Haven would be similar to a hive in nature, with state-of-the-art holding cell facilities catering to the world's most unknown and dangerous anomalies. But it would also serve as a high-security prison for those that the Enclave captures.

Agenta looked back at the Feline and smiled, surprising the young woman. "Keep up the good work."

"Y-Yes, my Lady!" She stuttered before running off.

She watches the woman scurry off and thinks her new company will help take her mind off Farsight, his lover and her mistakes.

Agenta felt something heavy fall into her sizeable lab coat pocket. Then, instinctually, her hand slipped into her pocket and came into contact with something icy and metallic.

Pulling out the object and staring at it, recognising it as a small silver bell.

"Huh? How did that get in my pocket..." Agenta asks quietly to no one as she raises it to get a good look.

*Little silver bell tolls*

The little bell rings gently in her hand and gets colder, almost forcing Agenta to drop it, but she cannot as it entrances her to its swinging motion.

Agenta tries to shout out to those around her for help, but a single dark Image flash in her mind repeatedly.

As if to warn her.

As quickly as the twisted Image of Kal'tsit appeared in her mind, it vanished. Agenta fell to her knee's as the bell in her hand disappeared without her even knowing.

Agenta had found herself surrounded by the employees trying to help her up.

"My Lady! Are you well? What's wrong?" Came the concerned voices around her.

Agenta shook her head vigorously and looked around for the bell.

"The bell, Where's the bell?" Agenta demanded.

Everyone looked unsure at her question. "The bell, my Lady?"

"The bell I was holding!" Agenta growled in annoyance.

"We... saw no bell, my Lady. You were stood there staring at your hand for a few minutes and then fell to your knees..." Another employee mentioned in worry.

Agenta decided not to argue. It would only make her look and sound crazier than she already did. However, the dark Image of a distorted and insane-looking Kal'tsit of Rhodes Island refused to leave her mind.

Why did any of that happen?

Then her eyes widened in realisation.

The picture... Kal'tsit must have seen the picture! Reports from Rhodes Island have clearly shown that Kal'tsit's mind has become increasingly unstable since Farsight left Rhodes Island.

"Get in contact with Farsight now!" Agenta stood on shaky legs and shouted.

"My lady!?" Everyone around her looked shocked and confused.

"He's in danger! Quickly! All units to combat readiness!" Agenta snarled at them and forced them to rush away to follow orders.

Agenta waited patiently for results but got very few results she wanted.

"My Lady, Commander Farsight isn't responding," One employee shouts, filling Agenta with dread as sweat dripped down her forehead.

He always answers his phone...

"My Lady, A scout report has just come in... Rhodes Island has just mobilised 95% of their operators and has entered Lungmen. LGD forces also massing at the centre of the city!" Another shout.

"Lady Agenta! Your Division and Commander Farsight's Division are battle-ready and awaiting orders" Another.

Agenta nodded and quickly made for the exit before turning to address the room. "Have both Divisions intercept LGD and Rhodes Island; they will not engage unless attacked first."

"What about you, my Lady?" Someone in the room calls out.

Agenta looks down and smiles forlornly.

"I'm going to confront a Lynx with a broken heart and mind... and try to stop her..."

Done!

Another fun chapter.

Poor Texas, not even knowing she has become the most wanted person on Terra, Can't get to Farsight, so hurt what he loves.

Of course, it would be Ch'en that got violent. Why would anyone expect differently?

It looks like Big Sis is watching and has decided to give the Enclave a heads-up. So the little bell made its way back into the story with the mention of Big Sis.

Kal'tsit has finally broken, or is there something more sinister at work?

Agenta is acting mature, sort of.

The next chapter will be about Kal'tsit and what has happened with her and Farsight.
