Don't Panic

Hey!

Bit of a short chapter, sorry! but it should be the build-up for a longer one next time!

The chapter might feel a bit rushed. Apologies, but I have work in the morning, and I've been told I need more rest. Typical...

A bit of an Info chapter as well as a short time skip!

Let's get back to it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Farsight was sitting on the roof of the Enclave slums headquarters as he thought about everything that was happening and that happened in the past short weeks.

Three weeks passed since Farsight scolded Agenta and for Mal to inform him of essential blueprints that could not fall into the wrong hands.

Agenta had been very quiet over the past weeks and had spent a fair amount of time on her own; she had a lot on her mind. Farsight had no intention of approaching Agenta while she was like this. It was best to let her sort out her own emotions and problems that had no outside influence.

Agenta would come to find him when the time was right; he was sure of it.

Mal was still far up north with Seneschal constructing their secret project, but due to the cold and Ursus snooping around, construction was currently prolonged. Still, it was moving ahead.

Mal's request for Farsight to retrieve the blueprints she created as a teenager from the Civil War-torn Laterano was a touchy subject for him. However, he mostly understood Mal's persistence.

She described what these weapon platforms could do; it was in the Enclave's best interest to retrieve them at all costs.

He wanted to go, but something was stopping him; call it a gut feeling, but something was telling him that if he went right now, he would only cause more problems and misery to the people living there. Even if Laterano is infighting, his presence will escalate the issues further.

So with great reluctance, he informed Mal that, while it was a priority, he could not go there right now, much to her dismay but with a smile, she told him that she was monitoring the situation and would warn him if the blueprints are even close to being discovered.

The Laterano government that had previously sent people to watch him and gather information had vanished completely. The problems in Laterano and the sudden violence and resentment there have most likely pulled them back to the city.

But if High Haven is correct, then the one known as Mostima is hanging around the Enclave; she has been sighted on multiple occasions near Farsight's location.

Siracusa was another problem; his new Krieg division was ready to march, and mounted scouts sent across Siracusa confirmed everything he and the Enclave knew.

The Siracusan mafia was in total control of the twenty-two city-states, plus all the surrounding towns and villages, All of it concealed by a puppet government at best.

The problem was that Siracusa wasn't a terrible place to live or visit. Everything the mafia was doing was very much on the low key. So the moment the Enclave charged in and started attacking, they would look like violent aggressors.

Farsight needed to expose the mafia for what they were, so he had spies, scouts and 'tourists' gaining anything and everything about the mafia and the shady, immoral decisions they were making to expose them to the world, perhaps even push them to attack the Enclave openly.

Food for thought.

Misha was leading the efforts of the Embassy building now being constructed in the heart of Lungmen. But, much to Farsight's delight, she was already drawing up her plans to deal with the Rat King and the criminal side of Lungmen that had remained surprisingly quiet this whole time.

Farsight awaited Misha's idea on how she would handle the infected people in Lungmen. He would happily go along with her ideas if they were well thought out and solid. He would, however, have to approve of all her idea's before they could be implemented.

Lappland was still with the Enclave but kept her distance after abducting Agenta and leaving her in a dark room for hours. Lappland was surprisingly quiet as she stalked the halls of the Enclave base. She spent most of her time stalking him at a distance. She mentioned that he smelt like Texas, but how much did she know?

W was acting strange, she still muttered and giggled to herself, but her eyes were sharp, and she watched everyone come and go; she was returning to her old self, smirking and flirting when Farsight was around but giving cold glances to anyone else, especially Agenta and any of her division.

They had attempted to locate a Sarkaz that worked alongside W called Ines... but there was no sign of the Sarkaz woman. She was not amongst the dead that Agenta slaughtered before.

Farsight hoped that if they found Ines, W would be more willing to open up to them and give them something of value or a clue to her plan.

No current luck...

Rhodes Island was far from quiet; they had attempted multiple times to negotiate deals, request meetings with Farsight and collaborate with the Enclave, which Farsight was interested in agreeing to in all truth.

The idea of being able to walk through Rhodes Island as Farsight and not the Doctor sent a guilty thrill down his spine, to see the look on their faces as he and his soldiers walked by them. It was a very appealing idea.

Penguine Logistics was another strange topic for Farsight; he struggled to come up with reasons to approach Texas without drawing attention to himself, and even then, what does he say to her? He didn't seek her out, but she didn't go to him either... So he would wait and see what Texas does.

He really needed to speak to Texas and figure out where they stood before she thought he was ghosting her and didn't care. He doesn't want Texas to believe he only wanted her for the night.

Farsight had much to think about.

~

*Knock, Knock!*

"Hey, Tex, come on, we gotta get to Rhodes Island early, or we'll miss our meeting with Miss Amiya!" Exusiai's muffled voice came through her door, although Texas barely registered it.

Texas was ready to go to Rhodes Island but was sitting on her bed and was destroying every pocky that passed her lips in concern, many things passing through her mind that prevented her from actively moving from her bed in anxiousness and genuine fear.

Why hadn't Farsight come back to her? Was he avoiding her? Did she do something wrong? Maybe she came on too strong and seemed clingy or desperate. Texas was confused by her feelings. She knew she liked him, but did he want her the same way? He must!

Why else would he have written that note in the morning before he left? he said they should talk, so why wasn't he here talking to her!?

Three weeks and nothing!

Why was she panicking?

Her emotions were getting the best of her, and she had an idea why. She was usually calm and relaxed, but right now? Her mind was working in overdrive, but the answer was simple.

Her period was late... It was never late...

It's been late for about a week, so she is panicking. Texas had a funny feeling a day after Farsight and herself had sex and the following days after that, but she shrugged it off, denied anything, and carried on with her deliveries.

But now? Texas was coming to the real possibility that she had denied for just over a week.

She might be Pregnant...

She hasn't done a pregnancy test yet, still trying to deny the possibility. Texas never thought she would have to walk into a Lungmen Pharmacy store and buy a pregnancy test.

It was that or wait until she got to Rhodes Island and asked to be checked by one of the doctors. Unfortunately, pregnancy tests aren't consistently accurate so the Doctor might be the best bet...

If her fears were genuine, what then? She couldn't fight without risk to the child and would gain weight. Would Farsight find that attractive? Would he even want a child!? Would he want anything to do with her after that? They hadn't spoken yet, so nothing was certain. She had faith in him, but the 'what-ifs' stabbed her mind repeatedly.

*Bang! Bang!*

"Come on, Texas!" Exusiai yelled.

"Stop yelling!" Texas took a deep breath and stood up, trying to stop her legs and hands from shaking.

She would get a Pregnancy test discreetly at Rhodes Island and then speak to a doctor for a second assurance...

She must know the truth before it turns her into a shivering mess.

As she opened the door to see an impatient Exusiai eating an apple pie flavour cereal in the hallway, only one thought entered her mind as they made for the exit.

A thought that sent a surprisingly pleasant chill down her spine and calmed her frayed nerves.

She could have her own family.

Done!

Sorry for the short chapter.

I wanted to move time along a bit! I spent way too much time debating two weeks or three. Honestly, I don't know how much change there would be better between the two.

I decided to spend a chapter catching up on what's going on with a few people and factions across Terra, not all of them. Just enough to know where we are at.

I have no idea if Races from Arknights have periods or go into heat, but Logically I would say periods. Heat cycles would surely cause chaos, which would be hard to control if we think of animals on Earth anyway. Civilisation would stop while they run around and act horny. So maybe they do have heat but a very, very mild version.

Everyone that says that Texas doesn't have periods, then apologies; she does now...

Is Texas pregnant, or am I messing with everyone? We'll see next time at Rhodes!

Sorry, no Art or Gifs today.

Thanks for the support and votes!
