BURN!

Hey

I am working for the next few days, so the next chapter will be Tuesday or Wednesday.

Proofreading was slightly rushed, so apologies if there are some mistakes.

Let's get back to it!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Farsight watched curiously as Mephisto received two overcharged shots from two rail guns directly to the face. The only sign it had any effect was the shriek of pain from the abomination as Mephisto backed up and brought his single available bloated hand to his face.

When Mephisto removed his hand, it seemed the railguns did damage him but certainly weren't going to kill him soon. His Hammerhead tanks underwent extensive testing before being signed off for combat use. A single shot from a railgun would quickly vaporize a person with no effort.

But Mephisto? This type of resilience was remarkable to witness. Mephisto withstood his fire and holy attacks and now overcharged railguns to the face. If he had enough Hammerheads, he had no doubt he could pepper Mephisto to oblivion, but he only had two. He could not afford to lose them.

So with a quick command, both Hammerheads started to reverse back to the end of the street where most of the Enclave soldiers and LGD were holding off curious civilians and noisy reporters that wanted to watch.

When Farsight knew he was finally 'Alone' with Mephisto, he stared blankly at the hulking abomination that had recovered and was slowly approaching him with an ear-splitting grin on its damaged face.

Farsight's eyes glowed bright, and he smiled knowingly to himself before falling to one knee and placing his free hand to his chest while his other gripped his beautiful sword tightly. His head lowered in prayer to Big Sis.

"Ahahahah! No matter how much you beg, I will not show you mercy!" Mephisto grins at the kneeling Saint in victory, believing that Farsight has lost hope to fight.

The Enclave soldiers holding the crowd back could only stare in disbelief that their leader would yield so quickly to such a horrific entity. Even the LGD and those that knew Farsight were confused by this turn of events. The voices around were proof of the bewilderment at Farsight's actions.

"What's he doing?" One LGD officer shouts in dismay.

"Get up! Get up!" An Enclave soldier barks quietly to himself as if watching a sports game.

"He can't give up! He just can't!" The Sarkaz female in Power armour shouted.

Mephisto's gurgling voice cut through all noise, silencing all the shocked and disheartened Enclave soldiers and watchers.

"Speak up, little fly!

Farsight ignored Mephisto and was murmuring to himself as he smiled, still kneeling, and wings that had retreated had once again opened up to make him have more of a presence on the battlefield.

Before everyone's eyes, a bright golden beam appeared from his sword that shot high into the sky. His sword could be seen burning brighter than even Talulah's flames. The shockwave of burning light that appeared had blasted the dust on the street in every direction, even reaching the crowd in the distance who witnessed the entire thing and had to shield their eyes in protection.

Mephisto continued to grin down at Fasight but figured the little fly surrendering was too good to be true. At this close distance, Mephisto could tell whatever he had done with the sword was burning hotter than anything those strange tanks could accomplish.

Mephisto rushed forward as swiftly as his huge mass would let him with his rusted bell raised high, intent on preventing Farsight from finishing whatever bullshit move he was planning to use against him.

The beam of burning light had vanished and was solely placed within the sword of the Saint. Farsight slowly stood up from his kneeling position, gripping his glowing sword tight.

Farsight raised the sword to his side and gripped it tightly with both hands as he charged at Mephisto on foot, wings flapping to give the Saint more momentum.

Mephisto was almost on top of him when Farsight rose from kneeling.

Regardless of the sheer size difference between the two, when the burning sword struck against Mephisto's bell, the entire street echoed and reverberated from the massive impact of two incredible weapons.

The Enclave cheered as Farsight had managed to match Mephisto's body weight with brute wing power as Farsight flapped his wings frantically to prevent himself from being thrown back.

Farsight pushed hard against Mephisto, who still grinned down at him, but that smile soon was replaced with an awful regurgitating noise, and Mephisto attempted to throw up his vile stomach contents on the Saint.

Not interested in being covered in the foul liquid, Farsight launched backwards out of the way as the acid-like substance spewed from Mephisto's mouth and stomach equally over the road. The toxic levels of the vomit were quickly eroding the road surface.

Farsight quickly took the air and started flying around Mephisto, slashing him from multiple directions and cutting his blubber-like fat open, which leaked foul yellow and green liquid.

Mephisto was getting annoyed by this pesky little fly and swung his massive rusted bell rapidly, hoping to hit the much faster opponent with little success.

In the distance, the Enclave soldiers had pushed every Civilian out of the area for safety. Reporters had found themselves on top of buildings recording the fight below them as it continued.

Being fed up with being cut constantly by Farsight, Mehisto smashes his bell hard into the road surface, sending pieces of debris flying in every direction, making Farsight have to dodge.

The sound of the bell hitting the solid ground sent shockwaves through the city, shattering what was left of any glass in the towering skyscraper's windows.

The shockwave threw Farsight through the air and into an abandoned truck, tipping it over in the process. Farsight's ears rang from the bell striking the ground, making him shake the dizzy feeling that had overcome him.

Farsight didn't see Mephisto stomp over to him. As Farsight turned around, he was struck directly by the rusty bell with such force that he flew into a building and out the other side.

"AHAHAHA, This is too easy!" Mephisto roared in happiness.

Everyone stared in horror as Farsight was swatted through a building, and out the other side Amiya was grabbed quickly by Nearl before she could bolt to where Farsight had possibly landed.

The Enclave and LGD quickly gulped when they saw Mephisto turn his giant head towards them and decided to make his way over to them.

People backed away as best they could from the approaching abomination, and some ready themselves for a fight.

"Fire! Fire!" One of the Hammerhead tank commanders, A Zalak female popping her head out of the hatch of her tank, was pointing at Mephisto and directing the Enclave around to shoot.

Enclave immediately opened fire at the behemoth with everything they had, which wasn't much: a few hundred pulse rifles, carbines and two Hammerhead tanks. In any other situation, that would still be a ridiculous amount of firepower that not even Laterano could dish out, but this was not normal.

The mass of blue projectiles from Enclave lit the street up like the first time they fired their weapons from the shadows, but this time, their opponent didn't seem overly bothered by the attacks.

The Zalak female tank commander stared at the creature and back to the slowly backing up Enclave. Nothing was working; only one option left.

"Retreat!" The Zalak called out in dismay. The Enclave tensed but soon started pulling back, dragging everyone else with them.

Ch'en and the LGD watched on in shock, not knowing something like this was underneath the city and decided they could do nothing to help. Ch'en growled to herself in annoyance. The last time she felt this useless was when Farsight had utterly dominated the fight he had started with her.

Soon it was just the two Hammerheads in the street with Mephisto, no crowd, no LGD, and no reporters. The 2nd Hammerhead soon spun around and started leaving.

"We leaving, commander?" The male voice of the driver of the 1st Hammerhead asked over the radio.

"You know the answer, Love" The female Zalak smiled as she replied to her Feline lover. She stared over the tank hatch as Mephisto approached their tank.

"*Sigh* Dammit* The male Feline driver knew his girlfriend would say that.

The Hammerhead wasn't firing. Instead, it hovered there as Mephisto approached, his foul grin ever present.

"Wait for it. Let him get closer when I tell you I need you to engage forward thrusters and lift the front of the tank until the Railgun is aimed at that thing's stomach. Can you manage that, sweetheart?" The Zalak whispers into her radio.

Mephisto once again raised his massive bell and was ready to smash the tank to pieces as he thundered ever closer.

"Love?!" The driver was shaking, and Mephisto was towering over their tank.

"Wait for Farsight! Wait!" The Zalak stared into Mephisto's eyes defiantly.

The Railgun was already charged to its total capacity, like when they shot Mephisto in the face. It only irritated him, so why would this time be different? The Feline driver didn't know his girlfriend's logic or what Farsight had to do with this suicide action, but he trusted her.

Mephisto was before them and about to bring the bell down on them. But, unfortunately for him, he did not see the light in the sky as he was too busy losing a staring contest with the Zalak tank commander.

"Now!" The Zalak shouted.

The Hammerhead's thrusters immediately roared to life as the tank jolted backwards. The front shot up until the Railgun was aimed directly at Mephisto's opened-mouthed stomach that was growling at them hungrily.

Mephisto was amused by their desperate action and continued to charge at the tank. So amused, he didn't question why they had yet to fire the Railgun.

His amusement was short-lived as Farsight appeared from the sky and landed directly on top of the tank with a loud clang, wings wide like an Avenging angel. He was sinking his burning sword straight into the power coupling of the Railgun and pouring as much of his power into it as possible.

The Zalak female stared in amazement as her Railgun display board showed it was charging to ridiculous levels.

100%

130%

190%

250%

400%

This entire action took only a few seconds, from Farsight landing on the tank to the massive charge-up of the Railgun with Farsight's power.

The Railgun was glowing White and blue as it unleashed golden sparks. It shook with untapped power as if desperately needing to vaporize the abomination that threatened to harm its operators.

"Fire"

The Zalak commander heard the gentle voice of Farsight over the sparking Railgun. Farsight was not bothering to look at the towering Mephisto as he lowered his giant bell on them that would surely kill all three of them.

With a single trigger pull from the Zalak, The Railgun unleashed its pent-up hatred on Mephisto.

*BOOM*

A blinding light engulfed the entire street as the overcharged shot entered Mephisto's growling, wide-open stomach mouth, melting all its rotting teeth and maggoty tongue, quickly blasting out the back of the lumbering Gaint.

Mephisto went wide-eyed as his body started disintegrating. The bell flew out of his hand and crashed next to the tank with a loud thud which the still-discharging Railgun drowned out.

The shot from the Railgun that went right through Mephisto kept going far into the distance and into the sky, seen by thousands of eyes across the land.

As quickly as the attack came, it ended.

Once the light of the overcharged Railgun had died down, the Zalak commander could see the entire Railgun had melted, leaving only a stub.

Farsight stared down at Mephisto, who was in front of their tank. His entire lower half had vanished, leaving only his massive chest cavity, shoulders and head.

Farsight fluttered his wings until he was hovering over the giant face of Mephisto, noticing the look of confusion and fear etched on his ugly face, before lowering himself down with force onto Mephisto and plunging his sword straight through his eye socket and out the other side.

"BURN!" Farsight roared in exhaustion.

What was left of the hulking abomination had caught fire the moment the burning sword had entered Mephisto's body until not even ash remained of him.

Farsight fell to the ground onto his knees where Mephisto once lay.

His head slumped forward as his bright halo started flickering on and off, and his wings lay motionless across the damaged street.

The Zalak commander, getting over the shock of everything that had just happened so quickly, jumped out of the tank and rushed over to her leader, catching him before he fell forward, face-first into the hard ground.

The size difference between the two was noticeable as she struggled to keep him from falling face-first into the ground and bending his wings awkwardly. The driver and boyfriend of the Zalak quickly joined her in keeping him from tipping further over, careful not to tread on his motionless fragile wings.

The Zalak held him close, not wanting anyone else to take advantage of the weakened Farsight.

"Thank you, Farsight... Thank you for saving us," The Zalak female whispered, hugging her leader's larger head to her body and kissing his crown in thanks and gratitude.

Neither knew if Farsight could hear her soft words that he only ever wanted Kal'tsit and Rhodes Island to say to him.

Done!

Another enjoyable chapter to write. The Hammerhead crew was supposed to die, but I didn't want that.

This Arc is over. How was it?

Next Arc is romance based. Kal'tsit, W, Lappland, Ch'en, Mostima, Texas.

Thanks for everything!
