The Next Arc

Hey!

The Next Arc is now starting.

I only have today off, so the next chapter will be either Wednesday or Thursday. See if work wants to kill me or not. Considering how exhausted I am. I might take Wednesday as a purely rest day.

Back to it!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Chernobog is ours. The city has taken catastrophic damage, and we will begin to repair its ability to move so that relocation will be possible." - Message from Mal-Mal.

"Over 800 Reunion deserters have scattered in all directions from the fallen city, Will begin the hunt. Be advised that Reunion Leaders Frostnova and W have been making their way to Lungmen." - Message from Agenta.

Two messages popped up on Farsight's display, reading them multiple times before smiling to himself. "Looks like they did it."

Unsure what to think about Frostnova and W surviving, W had already made it clear she wants him dead for past actions he has yet to remember. However, once she enters the city, he will know and take action as required.

"Commander! I'm ready for tomorrow." Misha barges into his room with an excited step but a nervous expression.

Farsight and his Division have taken control of a run-down factory building in the Lungmen slums. Not the prettiest building, but with some TLC and technology, it is a far cry from the rest of the slums. Unfortunately, the outside has not changed. Anyone who sees it will only ever see it as a decaying building.

"Misha! Nock, damn it!" Farsight shouts in surprise

"Ah, sorry, Commander, hehe."

"*Sigh* it's okay, no harm done."

"What's wrong, Commander?" Misha asks with a questioning tilt of her head.

"If tomorrow doesn't go as planned, then Lungmen becomes an official enemy, and with Reunion infesting the city, many innocent people will get hurt," Farsight says as he looks at his display with concern.

*Snort*

Farsight's head shoots up to Misha; he looks at her with a confused glare awaiting what she thought was amusing by his statement.

"You're worried about Madam Ch'en after all you did to her, but last time I checked, Ch'en is not leading Lungmen. She can scream and hiss at you all she wants, but she won't have the final say in any negotiation. Only Chief Wei will decide, and while I dislike him, He has a cooler head than Madam Ch'en."

Farsight stares at Misha momentarily, amused by her forward-thinking, deciding to test his new Lungmen diplomat. "Could she not sway negotiations? Her voice in Wei's ear must mean something, no?"

"From what I have seen on the news and in the information packets the Enclave have given me regarding Madam Ch'en, I can safely assume that when she is angry, she is very emotionally driven and illogical. If she does 'sway' Chief Wei in some matters, then all we need is for you to make Ch'en lose her temper. Then, Ch'en will throw insults and jabs at you, which Chief Wei will openly see. He will not pass up an opportunity to negotiate with us just because Ch'en has issues with you."

Farsight is honestly impressed! Where was Misha when he was back on Rhodes? She may have given Kal'tsit a migraine. He smirks at the thought of an undignified Kal staring at Misha with a twitching eye.

"Excellent thinking, Misha!" He walks over and rubs her head, making her blush and giggle.

"*Giggle* Stop!..."

Tomorrow will be a great success or a massive failure.

~

It had been a few days since Amiya had punched Blaze. Kal'tsit was sat at her desk rubbing her temples. She was trying to dislodge a growing headache. Monst3r was behind her, silently staring at everything around it.

Blaze was okay and seemed to get the hint. Her attitude was not winning her any goodwill, but she appeared to vent her frustration in her training and not at Y/n's expense.

I guess receiving a punch from one of the kindest people on Rhodes Island has shaken the battle-loving operator. Blaze has been seen trying to converse with Amiya and cheer her up, and it looks like Blaze is trying to curb her dislike for Y/n for the sake of Amiya, which Kal'tsit is grateful for.

Amiya was being cold to everyone, even her. Kal'tsit was getting worried... She did not want to lose Amiya. She has already lost Theresa and now Y/n!

*Nock, Nock*

"*Sigh* come in!" Looking towards the door with tired annoyance.

A random Operator peaks around the now-open door and steps in cautiously. Looking in fear at the sight of Monst3r, Everyone in Rhodes knows that Kal'tsit hasn't exactly been in the best moods recently. Everything was going wrong for her, and it was starting to show.

"What is it, Operator?" Kal'tsit snaps.

"A-Ah!, Um... Update!...A-As requested... Miss Amiya has spent the night in Doctor Y/n's room again."

Kal'tsit stares at the operator quietly. Monst3r turns towards the trembling operator and eyes him.

"Anything else?" That was all Kal'tsit said.

"U-um... yes!... Dr Warfarin made an off-handed joke in the Atrium earlier that has many operators talking!"

"Whatever, Warfarin has joked about should not be taken to heart. She is not trying to offend. She is usually sheltered in her office and doesn't understand that her poor sense of humour could annoy someone." Kal'tsit has no interest in operators taking offence to Warfarin's humour.

"Uh... No... Dr Kal'tsit and Dr Warfarin did not offend anyone." The unnamed operator was confused.

"...well?" Kal'tsit is getting irritated.

"Dr Warfarin jested about what if Dr Y/n wasn't dead but part of that Farsight group. They knew the Doctor and appeared a few weeks after he left, which is an unlikely coincidence."

As the operator spoke, Kal'tsit's face went from confused to shock and then to disbelief as she stared at the now quiet and fidgeting operator. Could it be true? Was their hope for Y/n...

Kal'tsit stood abruptly from her chair and stared at the trembling operator.

"Gather everyone in the Atrium! If Y/n is alive and with the Enclave, we will find them and discover the truth." Kal'tsit gave no room for argument even if the operator looked at her stunned. Didn't Kal'tsit tell him not to take Warfarin's humour seriously a few moments before??

"NOW!" Kal'tsit commanded.

"Yes, Ma'am!" The operator runs as fast as he can.

Kal'tsit sits back down with a huff, not believing how foolish and naive she was being...

With a shaky hand, she opens one of her desk drawers and pulls out a picture shoved at the back, out of sight and out of mind. She keeps looking at it with unblinking wet eyes.

It wasn't long before teardrops fell.

Why did she keep doing this to herself? Why was he still stabbing her heart?

Please! be alive, Y/n... I'm coming to find you.

*Sigh* Why did she keep doing this to herself? She repeats.

Done.

Big fan of Kal'tsit drama, it seems. I like cliche drama.

Sorry, it is a shorter chapter, but it is like a small intro to the next Arc.

You now know what Kal'tsit's mentality is and what her goal in Lungmen will be, and we understand what Y/n and Misha are up to.

Soon Penguine Logistics and other factors like Lappland will come into play.

With one day off, I'm pretty washed out... I got up at 2 pm and only started this chapter around 5 pm.

Thanks for everything!

See you all soon.
