"I don't like this," You stated firmly, a frown settling on your face. "I don't like this at all." The sound of the lap bar locking you into your place on the ride made you tense. You weren't a scaredy-cat, per se, but this certain amusement park ride made you... nervous. You knew nothing inside the ride could actually hurt you, but that doesn't mean it isn't scary.

"I'm sure could ask the attendant to--" Asahi began, but his words were cut off when the machine made a loud hissing sound as the cart you were sat in began to move. "N-Nevermind." As the ride started, you gripped the bar in front of you tightly. Looking back, you had no idea what spirit possessed you to suggest that it would be fun to go on a scary tunnel ride.

Asahi couldn't really see you, it was too dark. However, your loving, kind, and thoughtful boyfriend could sense that you were uncomfortable. He moved his hand across the bar so it was sitting on top of yours softly. He gave your hand a gentle squeeze as if to tell you that no matter what happened, he would be right there beside you. He was always there for you when you needed him most.

Just as you were starting to revel in the sweet moment, an actor jumped out near the track and shouted. In response to the jump scare, you screamed back at them. Asahi instinctively wrapped his strong arms around you, pulling you closer to him and away from the actor.

"It's okay, d-don't worry," Asahi told you over the loud noise of the ride. "I'm right here." A great number of scares later, you finally saw the light of day when the ride ended. As soon as the bar was lifted, you bolted from the cart and onto solid ground. Asahi was very close behind you, not enjoying the ride any more than you did.

"(Y/n), sweetie, are you alright?" Asahi asked in a kind tone, placing his hand on your shoulder.

"I'm fine, it's just--I didn't like that," You admitted, stepping closer to your boyfriend. He smiled at you, rugging your upper arm comfortingly.

"Why don't we go get some ice cream or something?" He suggested, kissing the top of your head. You took his hand as you walked to the stands selling all sorts of unusual foods. Eventually, you found what you were looking for. Asahi bought you your favorite flavor and smiled as you enjoyed the frozen treat. You found a bench to sit on and Asahi timidly draped his arm around you.

"Other than that last ride, I'd say today was really fun," Asahi said with a smile. You nodded your head.

"Yeah, it's been great," You agreed, looking up at the young man you loved. "Thanks for taking me... and also for protecting him for all those scary actors." Asahi chuckled and you kissed his cheek. He hugged you a little tighter and you basked in the aura of his wonderful smile.

"You don't have to be afraid for a second, honey, I'll always be here to protect you."
