Tossing and turning, the blankets got wrapped around your legs and waist uncomfortably. You huffed, deciding to push the blankets off your body entirely. You looked at the electric clock sitting on your nightstand. It was three am. You should have been asleep, but alas, the cold hands of insomnia held you tight.

Was it too hot? Too cold? Was there something you were subconsciously stressing over? Were you missing something? As you wondered what could possibly be keeping you awake, you heard a strange sound. It was a brief clunking noise. You ignored it... until you heard it again. It sounded like it came from your bedroom window.

You sat up in your bed. Peering out into the night, it was hard to see what was causing the sound. You nearly jumped out of your skin when a rock hit the window. You swiftly opened it, poking your head outside.

"(Y/n)!" You heard a familiar voice exclaim. You looked down to the grass, the crickets chirping all the while. There he stood, your boyfriend.

"Shhh!" You hushed him. You hesitantly helped him into your bedroom, hoping to not create too much comotion in the process. Once he was safely in, you smacked him on the side of the head.

"Hey! What was that for?" Nishinoya whined, rubbing the spot you hit.

"What are you doing here?" You demanded. "It's three in the morning."

"I missed you!" Nishinoya sobbed. His pained expression and motives made you feel guilty for being so harsh. You sighed, giving Nishinoya a gentle hug. In the blink of an eye, he held you tight and rested his head on your shoulder. He breathed deeply. Nishinoya like the way you smelled.

"Can we cuddle?" Nishinoya asked quietly. "Pretty please?"

"Okay," You agreed, seeing the bright smile on his face. "But you can't stay for long! My parents would kill me if they knew you were here." Nishinoya practically leapt onto your messy bed. You wondered how he could possibly have so much energy at such a late--well, early time. You climbed onto your bed and laid next to Nishinoya. The small libero pulled you closer, a content smile on his lips.

"You look cute with your hair all messy!" Nishinoya stated, reaching out to twirl a strand of your locks.

"Shut up," You mumbled, resting your head against his chest. Nishinoya chuckled, starting to draw little patterns onto your back. One of his strong arms draped over your torso, the other supporting his head as he laid on his side to look at you. To him, you were just the most gorgeous thing in the world. He could stare at you for hours, sometimes he even forgot to blink.

"I love you, (Y/n)," Nishinoya whiserped, finally lowering his volume. "Sorry for bothering you, I didn't mean to wake you up. I was just thinking about you, and I really missed you, and I wanted to see you again." A small smile crept onto your face.

"We were together earlier today," You reminded him.

"I know, I know... " Nishinoya paused, "It's just that y-you're one of the best things to ever happen to me. Sometimes I get worried I'll wake up one morning and find out all of this was just a dream." Nishinoya's words made your heart bleed. You reached up and gently held his face in your hands.

"I promise that'll never happen," You told him, kissing him tenderly. "I love you." You lean back into his body, enjoying the feeling of being so close. Nishinoya tactfully pulled one of your blankets over your bodies. Nishinoya felt at peace. Your eyelids grew heavy, your mind beginning to fog over. Steadily, the warm embrace of sleep overcame you. Turns out, you were, in fact, missing something you needed to fall asleep; the boy you loved.
