Hinata's face showed he was in deep thought, a rare sight to be sure. His eyes scrunched up as his hand held his chin carefully. He took his sweet time and the anticipation was killing you. Your heart began to thump against your ribcage. Just spit it out, already! Hinata suddenly clapped his hands, eyes popping open. An evil smile appeared on his face.

"I've got the perfect dare!" Hinata proclaimed. The group let out a collective silent sigh of relief. If he had taken any longer, someone would have suggested skipping his turn. Hinata knew he had to take his time, however, to meticulously conjure the worst possible punishment for poor little you. After all, isn't that the point of truth-or-dare? To make your friends do or admit stupid things?

"Alright, let's hear it," You folded your arms over your chest, preparing yourself for the worst. You knew the risk of choosing dare and you were ready to roll the dice.Β

"I dare you to kiss Kageyama!" Oh.

Instantly your brave facade utterly crumbled as the group burst into laughter. You felt your face grow warm as you let out a sigh. You did not look at Kageyama, for fear of what you might find.

"No," You stated once the laughter died down. "Pick something else."

"Nu-uh!" Hinata protested enthusiastically. "You said dare, you have to!" You stood up, your arms falling to your sides. For just a moment, the little shrimp had gotten excited. Were you really going to do it? No one would ever choose to kiss Kageyama, Hinata knew that much. So really, the boy was doing his friend a favor!

"I will not succumb to peer pressure," You declared with a wave of your hand as you turned to leave. "I bid you all a goodnight!" Your goodbye was met with boos and sounds of disappointment. Mostly from Hinata.

You did not mind, you would have probably decided to head home soon anyways. You slipped out of the Karasuno gym and into the night. Heading in the direction of your not-so-distant home, you enjoyed the sounds of the street.

You had gotten roped into the game of truth-or-dare after practice. The hope was to build more team comradery between the first years and their upperclassmen. After all, third-years like Nishinoya and Tanaka had recently graduated. A new wave of young boys had joined the club. It helps if teammates get along and trust each other, hence, the game that was made for middle-schoolers.

"(Y/n)!" You heard a familiar voice shout. With furrowed brows, you turned around to see a tall setter running towards you.

"Oh, hi, Kageyama," You said a bit awkwardly. "Uh, what's up?" His sharp blue eyes peered at you, a curious determination behind them. He only needed a moment to catch his breath.

"Do you not think I'd be good at it?" Kageyama nearly demanded. "Is that why you don't want to kiss me?" His tone was accusatory as if he was defending himself against an allegation that was not made.

"What? No," You shook your head, shifting your gaze to anything besides the young man in front of you. The setter was not a boy, not anymore and anyone could tell. He had grown taller, stronger, and his voice had gotten ever so slightly deeper.

"I just... " You paused, a bashful sigh escaping your lips. "I just don't want my first kiss to be from a stupid game. I want it to mean something. It's got nothing to do with you, really!" You watched Kageyama relax, realizing your refusal was not personal. "I'm sorry if it embarrassed you, I didn't think about that."

"It didn't," Kageyama explained stiffly. "I just want you to know that--that I'm not bad at it!" There is was again, that defensiveness. Why did he care so much about how you viewed him?

"I'm sure you are!" You shrugged your shoulders. "I just want you to kiss him because you want to not because of a game!" Kageyama's face lit up in surprise as you failed to understand what you had just implied.

"You want me to kiss you?" He mumbled, barely loud enough for you to hear.

"Well... Maybe," You admitted, somehow maintaining intense eye contact with the young man standing directly in front of you. "Only if you want to, like on purpose." With a quick inhale, Kageyama places his long hands on the sides of your face and he pulled you in.

Your eyes were wide open as he pressed his lips against yours. As if he had just rubbed his sock-clad feet against the carpet, a bolt of electricity jolted through your body in an instant. The feeling was difficult to describe. His lips were warm and a little dry, but the sensation of them against a patch of your skin that was so sensitive made your heart pound.

His movements were slow, tense, and clumsy but well-intentioned. Just as yours were. How can something be so foreign be so wholeheartedly welcomed without hesitation? Your eyes fell shut and you began to relax. It felt good. You didn't want him to pull away, but it was getting hard to breathe.

"Was that your first kiss?" You wondered with a small pant. Kageyama looked away with a face painted cherry-red as he dropped his hands to his sides swiftly. You began to chuckle.

"Don't laugh at me!" He shouted with newfound anger.Β

"I'm sorry!" You told him, only laughing harder. "I liked it! I really did!" Kageyama stepped past you, burying his hands in his pockets.

"I'm walking you home," He muttered under his breath. You followed his footsteps and arrived at his side. An irresistible grin broke out across your face as your fingers gently touched your lips. You could hardly believe it. You had shared your first kiss was none other than Tobio Kageyama:Β  the prodigy setter, the future Olympic athlete, and the idiot who stole your heart.

"Ya know, Kageyama," You piped up, "they say it takes ten-thousand hours to be good at something." You watched as a surprisingly confident smirk grew on his face.

"Then we better get started."
