A cold sweat draped over your body as it tossed and turned in your sleep. If your husband had not already been awake, chances are he wouldn't have noticed. Since he was, your behavior concerned him. He reached over and placed his hand on your shoulder, your back facing him. He heard you mumbled something under your breath. Kotaro was instantly worried.

"Hey," He whispered, gently shaking your shoulder. "Baby, are you okay?" He shook you a little harder, sitting up in bed. He leaned over and kissed your cheek a few times.

"(Y/n), honey, get up," He spoke. Finally, he managed to wake you up. Your eyes shot open, your breath coming in short gasps. A disorienting feeling washed over you as you tried to center yourself in reality. Kotaro's warm hands cupped your face as he saw the tears brimming in your beautiful eyes.

"Sweetie, what's wrong?" Kotaro asked in concern. You sat up with him, trying to calm down. You knew it was just a dream. You knew it wasn't real, but it felt so real. It felt so real and it terrified you. Kotaro wrapped his strong arms around you as a few tears rolled down your face.

"It's okay, it's okay," He told you in a low volume. He rubbed your back as you hugged him. He didn't understand why you were so distraught, it was probably due to a nightmare of some kind. Kotaro kissed the top of your head multiple times in a row.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Kotaro asked, keeping you very close to him. "It's okay if you feel like you can't." With your head against his chest, you took a couple of deep breaths. Your heart ached at the thought of the horrible scenario your mind concocted.

"I-It was just a nightmare," You muttered, sniffling. "I'm--I'm sorry if I woke you up."

"You didn't, sweetheart, don't worry," He told you soothingly. "What happened?" You tried to take another deep breath, finding Katoro's embrace to be your comforting anchor to reality.

"I-I just... I lost you," You whispered. The thought scared you so profoundly. You loved Kotaro more than anyone, and if you were to ever lose him you would lose a big part of yourself. He was kind, loving, thoughtful, and he brought so much joy into your life. Kotaro was the only one for you, hence why you married him. You couldn't picture a world without him. Well, you must have been capable of imagining such things, evidence by the nightmare you just suffered through.

"Lost me?" Kotaro chuckled softly. "Baby, it was just a dream." Kotaro kissed the sides of your face lovingly. "It was just a dream, honey." You let him hold you, his warm form was very comforting. Kotaro always was the best at giving hugs. He laid down, taking you in his arms. You laid, your head still against his broad chest. His arms still held you securely, his legs tangled with yours, and your arms rested on his chest. You could hear his heart beating, a rhythmic sound that brought you great ease.

"I'm right here, darling," Kotaro murmured with love. "I love you so much, it was just a dream, don't worry." Kotaro kissed your forehead as you closed your eyes. He gently played with your hair as you carefully drifted back to sleep within the arms of the love of your life.
