* * *

First day of senior year.

It was officially the last first day of school ever. Before you know it, you'll be thrown out into the world expected to act like an adult and pay for your own bills and find a job and do your own grocery shopping...

You shook your head at the thought, trying to suppress adulthood for as long as you possibly could.

You continued to trek through the halls, eyes skimming over the new freshmen desperately trying to find their way around the school with maps in hand. It only felt as though it was yesterday that you were in their position, turning up to every class late because you got lost.

Suddenly, you went crashing into another body, sending both their and your books clattering to the floor. Your head snapped up, eyes wide as they locked with the person‒a boy‒you ran into.

"I'm sorry!" You both exclaimed at the same time, laughing nervously when you realized you both had said the same thing. He was the first one to bend down and being to pick up his things again, so you followed suit.

Once the two of you collected your things again and returned to your full posture, he sent you a small smile, "I'm sorry, again. I'm new here, and I couldn't work out how to read the stupid map..."

"Its alright," You smiled. "Are you a freshman? I can take you to your first class if you'd like, I have a  spare first up so I don't have to be anywhere anytime soon."

"Oh, no, I'm a senior! I'm just new to the school is all. I actually have a spare up first too, I was just trying to find my way to the library."

"Looks like we're heading the same way," You say. "Though you were going in the completely wrong direction. Library is this way."

You began to lead him down the hall, him quietly thanking you again as you went.

"I'm Theo, by the way."

You smiled to yourself, already liking this boy. "(Y/n)." You replied.

-

The bell suddenly rang, signalling the end of your last first day ever. You pilled your books into your bag, slinging it over your shoulders and heading out toward the exit of the school. After your spare with Theo, you hadn't been able to get the boy off of your mind the moment you said goodbye to him after dropping him off at his second class, so when you saw him by the front gate, you couldn't stop your heart from picking up its beat. When the brunet spotted you, he send you a toothy grin as you made your way over to him.

"Hi (Y/n)!" He grinned, eyes gleaming as the sunlight hit them.

"Hi." You replied, sending him back a just as enthusiastic smile.

"Look, as a thank you for all you've done for me today, I'd like to take you out for dinner. What do you say? Would you like to go on a date with me?"

"I'd love to."

"Great!" He looked nervously to the ground for a brief moment before returning his gaze to your eyes. "I'll pick you up at 6?"

"Sounds like a plan." You answered, and he send you one last smile before exiting the school and disappearing into the crowd of students right after looking back at you one last time.

At six o'clock on the dot there was a knock at the front door. There was a kind of spring in your step as you hurried to answer it, more excited for the date than you cared to admit. Theo was waiting on the other side with that same smile on his face.

"You look nice," He said immediately, causing you to blush.

"Thank you." You smiled in answer.

Theo held his hand out for you suddenly, "Shall we get going?"

"We shall." You giggled, taking his hand and following him out of the house.

After the two of you had dinner at a restaurant of your choice, he lead you back out onto the streets. You both walked in silence with no real destination or purpose, small chatter that was shared between you now died down and swept away with the sound of passing traffic one street over.

Theo suddenly took your hand in his, sending you a look that seemed to ask 'is this okay?' when you looked up at him quizzically. You sent him a nod, because although the two of you had just met, holding his hand just felt so damn... right.

With his hand clasped tightly around your own, the two of you walked down the deserted road in a complete silence that wasn't anything but comfortable.

Neither of you really knew where you were going at this point, or where you were for that matter, but neither of you did mind really. Because between the silence and the sound, the moment the two of you were sharing was soon to become a story for just the two of you to know and remember for the rest of your life.

And you were more than okay with that.
