Doubts - Scott Imagine

You paced around the room, your sock-clad feet brushing against the floor as you walked. It was getting late, and Scott should have been home hours ago. He had explained that the pack had something important to do, though that had seemed to become the excuse for each time he left for extended periods of times.

You tried desperately to believe him, to actually think that yeah, maybe he actually was doing something important to keep the unwanted supernatural creatures out of beacon hills, but you were just sick of falling asleep each night alone. Sick of being woken up some time later to him crawling into bed with you and holding you against his chest like nothing was wrong. You were sick of trying to convince yourself that he wasn't cheating on you.

Tonight you were determined to get to the bottom of it, so instead of giving up and going to bed like you usually would, you stayed up. You sat in the lounge room, eyes trained on the blank wall as you listened to the ticking of the clock on the wall.

Just as it ticked over to 11PM, the front door swung open and your boyfriend strutted in while kicking off his shoes and leaving them to rest by the door. You quickly stood, turning to face him just as he walked into the room.

He let out a surprised gasp, slapping a hand onto his chest, "Babe? What are you doing up?"

"Waiting for you." You deadpanned, hands coming up to cross themselves over your chest.

He raised an eyebrow at you, but didn't speak. Instead, he shuffled further into the lounge room until he was standing in front of you, "Why're you waiting up for me? I've told you not to do that. That I wouldn't be home till late."

"That's the thing, Scott," You sighed. "I can't remember the last time I fell asleep in your arms. I can't remember the last time I've had a good night's sleep because I only sleep well when I'm in your arms. It's like were not even dating, Scott! You don't... talk to me anymore!"

He was quick to take your hands in his, giving you one of the most sincere and meaningful looks you had seen in a long time. He opened his mouth to talk, but shut it again when nothing came out. He did this a further two more times before he finally spoke, "Do you... Do you think I'm cheating on you, (Y/n)?"

You shrugged half-heartedly, "I-I don't know, I guess I've been thinking about it but..."

His features immediately softened, hands moving to cup your face gently while he looked into your eyes, "Please believe me when I say that I would never cheat on you. (Y/n) I love you so much, and doing such a thing would be stupid of me. When I say I'm going out with the pack I really mean it, because..."

His voice trailed off, hands dropping back down to his sides.

"Because...?" You urged, and he let out a sigh.

"Because," He dropped down onto one knee in front of you, pulling out a small black velvet box and slipping it open. "Because all this week we've been out planning this. I've been planning to propose to you in this beautiful way that will make you never forget it, with the help of everyone else. But it looks like that plan has been scrapped. (Y/n), I love you so much, and I knew from the moment that I laid eyes on you that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. We've been together for what seems like forever, and... (Y/n), will you marry me?"

Your mouth ran dry as you stood there, heart racing when you began to nod at Scott who was waiting for an answer.

"Yes!" You gasped, pulling him up onto his feet so you could wrap yourself up into his arms. "Of course I'll marry you Scott."

He wrapped his arms around you tightly, and when the ring slipped onto your finger all your doubts were washed away and you knew that Scott was defiantly someone you wanted to spend the rest of your life with too.
