"You aren't coming." Liam hissed, standing his ground in front of you.

You'd been arguing with your boyfriend for the past five minutes, him declaring that you weren't able to go with the rest of the pack to help Lydia get out of Eichen house because it wasn't safe, but you were sick of getting left out all the time.

"Yes, I am!" You retaliated. "I get why you wont let me come. I know I don't have the powers you all have but damn it I'm a part of this pack too, Liam! I deserve to come with you."

Your boyfriend took a step closer to you, placing a hand on the side of your head, "Its not safe, Rosie. I'm worried that something will happen and you wont be able to protect yourself, that I wont be able to protect you."

"I know you're worried. I get it. I worry about you when you go off on these kinds of things, too. Just, please Liam, let me come with you."

He hesitated briefly, eventually rolling his eyes and sighing gently, "You're so stubborn, but fine. Just promise me you'll be careful. We don't know what were going up against."

"I will," You promised, pushing yourself up to press a soft kiss to his lips, "Thank you."

Later that night, the pack and yourself were getting ready to head out, and you could tell Liam was nervous. You had thoughts about just staying back to make him feel better, but you really wanted to go with them so instead you kept your mouth shut.

You held tightly onto his hand on the way there, hoping it would calm him down a little. After all, everything was going to be fine. The pack was going to get in there, get Lydia out and there wasn't going to be any complications.

If only it would have been that easy.

Stiles pulled up out the front of Eichen house, Scott following behind on his bike, and everyone piled out of the car and the plan was immediately a go.

Malia and Kira entered, explaining that they were there to see Lydia. They were planning to shut of the power while the rest of the pack, yourself included, entered the back way.

You followed closely behind Liam, gripping tightly onto his hand as you walked around the large building. You couldn't deny you were nervous now, and you had every right to be but you tried to not let it effect you; instead trailing along silently.

When you all got to the back door, there wasn't anything you could do but stand around silently, waiting for Kira and Malia to do their part of the plan. Scott had explained that the lights would go out once they shut down the power, and that was the queue to start going in, but until then there wasn't anything any of you could do until they did that.

The entire area was putting you on edge; it was deadly silent with the distant sound of patients screaming and an occasional car passing by. You could understand why people who were admitted here went mad, and you could understand why it was so important to get Lydia out.

Suddenly, you thought you heard something behind you. You turned to see if you could see anything, but against the harsh darkness your eyes failed to make out anything so you simply turned around again, eyes roaming around your group of friends.

"You okay?" Liam asked, giving your hand a gentle squeeze.

You glanced up at him, a small smile tugging on your lips as you nodded, "Yeah. Just thought I heard something, is all."

"Probably just an animal." Liam decided, and you were about to agree with him until another sound coming from behind you, this time like a stick was being snapped under the weigh of someone's step.

Everyone else had seemed to of heard it when Scott mumbled out a quiet, "What was that?" and you turned briefly to see everyone's eyes locked on the dense space behind Liam and yourself. You turned back, squinting into the darkness in an attempt to find out what had caused the noise.

Scott had instinctively stepped up, slowly making his way toward Liam and yourself but before he could get completely in front of you, the dim lights that had once surrounded the area and the back door suddenly shut off, dousing the area in complete darkness.

Everyone let out a collective gasp, you gripping tighter onto Liam's hand as he pulled you closer to his side. You rested heavily against him, swallowing hard as your eyes flicked desperately around the space that surrounded you.

There was a brief moment when things seemed to get even more silent, and it made goosebumps appear on your skin. Maybe you should have stayed at home after all. This whole ordeal was turning out to be a lot more daunting that you had first envisioned.

Your eye suddenly caught sight of something, a dark shadow dashing across just in front of Liam and yourself. You tried to see where it went, but it seemed it had disappeared into the darkness.

"Did you see that?" You whispered out to no one in particular.

"I did." You heard Stiles mumbled from behind you, and you couldn't help but feel relieved that someone had seen it too, that you weren't going mad.

"What was it?" Scott asked.

"Figure." Was all Stiles mumbled in return.

You continued to look around, trying to see if you could catch another glimpse of the figure, and maybe you should have just kept your eyes closed.

You seen the figure pass across your vision rather quickly, then again and again until suddenly you seen it running right for you.

It was fast. Faster than any human being. Completely black and terrifying and it had you in a kind of trance. You knew it was coming for you, but you couldn't get your feet to move. None of your friends could get to you quick enough, not even Liam who was standing right against you, to push you out of its way.

Instead, it collided with you and suddenly there was striking pain that coursed through your entire body. You fell to the ground, and it took everyone a spilt second to register what had happened.

Scott immediately went chasing after the figure while Liam fell to his knees beside you, shaky hands brining your trembling body to his chest.

Tears spilled from your eyes as you winced in pain, gasping and spluttering as blood trickled down your side. The pain was unbearable and you struggled to keep your eyes open as your brain grew hazy.

"We need to give her the bite," Liam rushed out, swallowing back tears that threatened to form in his eyes as he pressed a careful hand to your stomach in an attempt to stop the bleeding. "We need to giver her‒We need to do something!"

"I don't think giving her the bite it a good idea," Stiles tried to reason calmly, but looked just as worried as Liam was. "You can see it, she's too weak. What ever that thing was, it's really hurt her, Liam. Giving her the bite would probably just kill her faster."

Liam watched you desperately as you went in and out of consciousness, usual bright eyes opening and closing every few seconds while failing to focus on anything.

By the time Scott had come back, declaring that the figure had disappeared, you were almost gone and everyone could tell. You breath was limiting, and you struggled to keep your eyes open for longer than a couple of seconds before it got too hard.

Liam was watching you worsen as the seconds ticked by with tears in his eyes. His hands were shaking, vibrations felt on your skin while he still tried to stop the bleeding.

"Its okay," You managed to mumble out breathlessly.

"Its not." Liam hissed immediately, and all you could do was shake your head gently at him.

"It is," You assured, sending him the most genuine smile you could muster. "Its okay because it doesn't hurt any more."

Liam felt his heart physically shattering, a broken whimper slipping past his lips as he watched on as your breath begun to shorten until there didn't seem to be anything left in your body. Your eyes slipped closed, and your body fell limp against his hold.

Liam was speechless, unable to string any sort of words together. Instead, he brought your body up further, letting your head rest in the span of his shoulder and holding you there until his tears subsided into regret.

"No more hurting," He whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to the crown of your head. "I love you, and I'll see you later. Just wait for me. I'll be there before you know it."
