Beds - Liam Imagine

A/n: Hiii I'm finally back. Its been super good to take a break from updating this book for a little while, it gave me heaps of time to really sort this book out and write a ton of chapters but I must admit I've missed publishing chapters for you guys! Although it was good to take a break, it feels good to be back again with a 1700+ word Liam imagine for you all! :-)

* * *

Age 7.

"Five more minutes, you two!"

Liam and yourself frowned upon hearing his mothers voice drift into his bedroom. The two of you laid on his bedroom floor, stuffed animals in hand while you spoke in silly voices and pretended the toys were real beings.

It seemed that the two of you were having so much fun that time had slipped away from you, and it was already just about time for bed.

Liam and his mother had set up a blow-up mattress by Liam's bed before you had arrived, and at the time you had been as excited as you could get for a bed, but now it was making you a little uneasy thinking about sleeping on it.

There certainly wasn't anything wrong with it, you had even brought your own pillow from home to make it feel like you were in your own bed, but you just hadn't ever been good with staying at other people's houses and your mother knew this but Liam and yourself had begged her for hours until she finally agreed.

You just hoped you could make it through the night without having to ring your mother to come and pick you up.

"Its time for bed, you two." Liam's mother smiled down at the two of you, rolling her eyes at Liam's groans of protest.

"Five more minutes!" He pleaded, but his mother shook her head.

"I gave you five more minutes the last time you asked. Its bed time now."

After a final attempt to buy the two of you some more play time and failing, Liam finally gave up with a huff and shuffled over to his bed. He settle under his sheet while you settled into the bed beside him, cuddling into the blankets.

After saying goodnight, Liam's mother shut off the lights and walked out.

You couldn't stop your heart from racing once you were surrounded by the darkness. Tears pricked your eyes and you had to hold your hands to your eyes to keep yourself calm.

After minutes you could hear Liam's little breaths evening out and it seemed like he had already passed out, and you hated to wake him but damn it, you were scared and if you didn't wake him soon you were pretty sure you were going to start crying.

So, you pushed back the covers and clambered up onto your knees. You sat there for a moment, tired eyes watching Liam sleeping soundly tucked up in his own blue bed sheets. With a puff of air you carefully climbed onto his bed, hesitantly nudging his shoulder.

It took you a couple of goes before it finally brought Liam out of sleep, groans leaving his lips and then his eyes were opening and squinting up at you.

"(Y/n)?" He asked, rubbing at his eyes with the back of his hand while he sat up slightly. "Are you okay? Did you need to go to the bathroom? Or did you loose your stuffie?"

You shook your head, and for a second you forgot about the darkness that surrounded you. Seeing his bright eyes calmed you down and you'd forgotten why you woke him up in the first place until you suddenly remembered.

"The dark," You mumbled, sighing. "Just scares me a little. Can I... Can I sleep with you in your bed tonight?"

Liam's eyes lit up and he nodded vigorously, shuffling over to make room on his bed for you. You grabbed your stuffed animal from where it was still sat on your bed and brought it up with you to settle beside Liam.

You cuddled up to his sheets and sighed happily.

"Better?" Liam asked.

You nodded at him with a shy smile on your lips, "Yeah. Thanks, Liam."

When you did make it through the night, no one spoke about how Liam's mother found the pair of you cuddled up together in his bed with your stuffed animals resting between you.

Age 11.

Liam and yourself were sat on your bed Friday afternoon.

"Have you ever kissed anyone?" Liam had asked, and you screwed your nose up while shaking your head. He laughed gently, nodding. "Yeah, gross right? I saw Sarah from our class kissing Johnny behind the toilets during break today!"

You gasp, eyes going wide in disbelief, "Really?"

"Mhm!" He nodded. "Kissing girls would be so gross. I don't want their cooties!"

"We don't have cooties!" You pressed, huffing out as you crossed your arms over your chest.

"Do too!" Liam teased,  and you playfully tossed your pillow at his head, whining.

"You boys are the ones with the cooties." You huffed, but you couldn't help the grin on your face. Liam was pouting down at where the pillow had fallen into his lap, hair mussed up. Their was a brief silence and you failed to notice Liam taking a hold of the pillow and throwing it back at you until it was colliding with your face.

You gasped, staring wide eyed at Liam, "You're a meanie!"

"Nuh-uh!" He mumbled, eyebrows drawn together. "You started it!"

"And I'm gonna finish it." You mumbled quietly, swiftly picking up the pillow again and began to hit Liam with it. He caught on quickly, grabbing another pillow from your bed and beginning to return the attack.

The two of you continued to hit each other with the plush rectangular objects until you grew too tired to lift your arms up any more. You both had collapsed onto the bed, letting out breathy giggles.

You had suddenly began to realise how close you were to Liam; noses almost touching and you just managed to make out the tiny green speck amongst the blue in his eyes. Your breathing evened out, giggles subsiding when you realised that Liam was inching closer to you.

Your noses were bumping together, and suddenly it seems that Liam had forgotten about what the two of you were previously talking about, what he had previously said.

His lips were gently pressing against yours and before you could completely realise what he was doing, he was pulling away with a blush on his cheeks. You were blushing too, mouth agape in surprise. There was a moment of silence before Liam was speaking up gently,

"I guess kissing girls doesn't give you their cooties after all."

Age 16.

"What are you doing!?" You gasped, watching on from your bed with wide eyes as Liam carelessly climbed through window. Once he was safely inside your room, he looked up with a smile and a gentle shrug.

"You texted and said you had a bad day and its my duty as a best friend to come and make sure you're feeling better."

You send him a smile, eyes softening, "That didn't mean you had to climb through the window, you idiot. There's a perfectly fine and usable front door that you could have used."

A sense of realisation seemed to settle over his features but he was quick to wipe it away. "I-I knew that. I just wanted my entry to be cool, y'know?"

"Right." You giggled, rolling your eyes at your best friend. He moved across the room, hesitantly taking a seat on your bed. You sat up slightly, moving to one side to allow Liam to slide up against you.

"Did you want to talk about why you had a bad day?" Liam asked, and it was then when you remembered why you had texted him in the first place.

With a sigh, you shook your head, "Boy troubles, I guess. Turns out Alex didn't like me at all, he was just being an asshole to show up to his friends."

Liam let out a sigh, putting an arm around your shoulders to pull you into his side, "Don't let him get to you, alright? You deserve so much more than him. I'm sorry I let you get hurt by him, I should have been there to warn you."

"It isn't your fault," You mumbled, resting your head against his shoulder, "I was stupid to think a guy could actually like me back."

"Don't say that," He mumbled harshly, frowning down at you. In a much gentler tone, he added a simple, "It was here that I realised I was in love with you."

Although it seemed he wasn't phased by the words passing his lips, you couldn't help but let your mouth fall open in surprise, "W-What?"

You looked up, eyes locking with his as he gave you a gentle smile, "Ever since that day we kissed here when we were eleven, I haven't been able to forget it. I had means to tell you how I felt but I didn't know how to approach the situation."

"You love me?" You uttered in disbelief. "Like, love me?"

"Yeah," Liam let out a breathy laugh, "I love you, and I think I just found a way to approach the situation."

"How?" You asked, curiously.

Liam simply smiled, pulling away from you slightly, "Like this."

With a hand to your cheek, he inched his face closer and closer to yours until your noses were touching, breath fanning across each others lips until Liam closed the gap, gently pressing his lips against yours.

This time when you kissed, it wasn't rushed like it was when you were eleven. This time it didn't feel like you were doing something so terrible you had to keep it a secret from your parents. This time, nothing has ever felt so right to you, and you never wanted it to end.

Eventually it did, but Liam and yourself remained close, falling asleep in each others arms and when your mother found Liam and yourself wrapped up in each others limbs, she didn't have the heart to wake either of you.

So she left you, and you'll never be able to thank her enough for giving you those extra few moments with the boy who actually loved you.
