Derek Imagine (For @Eddie_Riguez)

Request: They break into a junk yard to get car parts, get arrested and bailed out by angry parents.

*

It was approximately a quarter past something ridiculous in the morning, and you were currently trailing behind Derek as the two of you made your way toward an old junk yard to retrieve car parts.

You can't remember why you agreed to such a thing, but when Derek turned up on your door step with hopeful eyes and a cheerful voice, well, you couldn't exactly deny his request for you to go with him.

The two of you stopped outside the metal gate, and upon looking up you realized the barbed wire looped around the top, stopping from anyone jumping the fence. This didn't seem to phase Derek, though, as he simply pulled a thick blanket out of the backpack he had on his back and threw it up and over the wire. He extended his arm out, ushering you to climb up and over.

You hooked your fingers into the chain link fencing, hauling yourself up to the blanket where you took a quick break. You glanced back at Derek, him sending you a devilish smile before you climbed over the blanket and jumped down from the fence with an oof.

Derek copied your actions, his body soon falling beside yours. He let out a huff, re-positioning his backpack on his shoulders before grabbing your hand, intertwining your fingers before tugging you further into the junk yard.

You followed your boyfriend around, helping him carry parts and laughing along with things he said. It carried on like this for a fair while, that is until sirens were suddenly heard in the distance. Your eyes grew wide, and Derek quickly snatched the things from your arms to stuff them into his backpack.

He slung it over his shoulder and then took your hand in his, muttering a 'Stay low' before he was pulling you further into the yard.

Eventually you could see the flashing lights of the police cars, your heart beat starting to increase as Derek tightened his grip on your hand. He paused behind a large pile of stacked boxes, breathing heavily.

The two of you waited, hoping that the police would eventually give up and leave, but the flash lights they held shone in your direction, and before you knew it there was three deputies crowed around the two of you.

"Sorry it had to end like this." Derek sighed as he looked down at the bench the two of you were sitting on inside a jail cell.

You simply shrugged, smiling lightly at the boy, "Its okay, I don't mind. As long as I'm with you I don't mind where I am."

He sent a smile in your direction in return, and just as he opened his mouth, a deputy walked in sight. He unlocked the cell, pulling the door open, "Your parents are here."

Derek and yourself stood, following the deputy back into the main part of the police station. Your mother and father stood there, angry looks on their faces as you approached them. No one said anything.

Instead, Derek and yourself followed your parents outside and over to their car. Everyone piled in, and that's when you finally speak up, "Derek needs to pick up his car."

Your mother sighed, glancing back at the two of you briefly before nodding, "If you two get into any more trouble, I'm going to make sure you aren't just held in a cell for a few hours."

You nodded, and your father pulled out of the parking spot and heading back toward the junk yard.

"Its already 5AM." Derek sighed, arms that were around your waist tightening slightly.

The two of you were lying in the back of his broken car, Derek's back resting against the door while you lied in between his legs, back pressed against his chest.

You hummed at him, acknowledging his words. It didn't feel like you had been awake all night. You felt peaceful, not like you were running off one hour's sleep.

You had lied to your parents when you said Derek needed to pick up his car. You knew it was broken, but you didn't want to have to say goodbye to him just yet. You were having too much fun to only go home to a cold bed again.

Being here in his arms was better than anything in the entire world, you thought.

The sun was beginning to slowly rise from behind the hills, sending a warm glow into the back of the car. You snuggled closer to his body, letting out a sigh of content.

"I love you." He suddenly blurted out, and the words made you smile to yourself.

"I love you more." You answered, moving your body so you could lean up and leave a kiss on his lips.
