Pink and Green - Stiles Imagine

[Song: Something Better by Audien. Don't know why, I was just listening to it while writing this!]

"Mommy? Will you tell me about when you got your pretty pink princess hair?"

You couldn't help but smile fondly at your five year old daughter as you were tucking her into bed for the night, and smile fondly at the memory your daughters question brought back.

"Well," You pulled the covers over her body, taking a seat by her on the bed. "It all started one sunny day..."

-

It was, in fact, a rather sunny day out when you woke up.

It had been raining for the past couple of days, and to finally see the sunlight shining through your bedroom window immediately lifted your mood.

You had a spring in your step as you got ready for school that morning, and you even walked into school with a smile on your face, something that didn't happen too often.

You just felt... happy. Like it was going to be a great day, like nothing and no one could wipe the smile from your face no matter how hard they tried.

You walked the halls, stopping by your locker to get your school books before you began to head toward the library where you knew you'd find Lydia. You were so caught up in your happy mood that you weren't paying much attention to where you were going until you ran into another body.

Both of you let out gasps, almost falling to the ground if it wasn't for the stranger gripping onto your upper arms to keep you upright.

"I'm sorry!" You gasped, regaining your posture to look at the stranger you had ran into. A boy, someone you had never seen before. "I should have been looking where I was going."

"Its okay," He let out a laugh. "I wasn't looking where I was going either. I'm new, and I was too busy trying to figure out how to read the map that I forgot I was, like, walking in a really busy hall."

You laughed, nodding, "Where do you have to go? I can point you in the right direction."

"Uh," He pulled out his timetable, letting you see it. "Math, I think."

You nodded, "Yeah, if you just keep going the way you were going, you'll see it on the left."

"Thank you!" He smiled, and he was off again. You smiled to yourself before you too were off, heading toward the library.

-

You walked into the library, spotting Lydia at a table.

You shuffled over to her, and before you even had the chance to sit down and say hello she startled you.

"(Y/n)." Lydia gasped, eyes going wide as she stared at your head.

Your hands flew to your hair, feeling around, "What? What's wrong?"

"You've got your colours!" She exclaimed, and you felt your heart drop while your stomach started doing flips. You pulled it out of the pony tail you had put it in that morning, tugging it so you could see it and just as Lydia had said, you had in fact gotten your soulmate colours.

"Oh my God." You gasped, wide eyes glued to your now bright pink hair. You ran your fingers through it, feeling the soft strands.

"Who's your soulmate, though?" Lydia suddenly asked, and then it clicked.

That boy you ran into just before.

You were so caught up in the moment that you didn't answer Lydia. Instead, you ran out of the library, looking back and forth down the halls, trying to remember which way that boy had gone. You opted for a left turn, trailing back down the halls, desperate to find him.

You desperately looked around, eyes flicking to every head of hair you passed until you spotted a head of bright green up ahead. You weaved through the other students, heart beginning to race as you got closer.

"Hey!" You called, and that managed to catch his attention.

When you locked eyes with him, you noticed his eyes were already as wide as yours probably were. You ran over to him, stopping in front of him while you tried to catch your breath. You wanted to say something, but you were too shocked to string together a sentence, so the boy spoke up instead.

"Hi, soulmate."

You glanced down at your daughter, noticing her sound asleep.

You smiled, bending down and pressing a soft kiss to her forehead before you exited her room, making your way to your and Stiles' shared bedroom.

"Asleep?" Stiles asked as you walked into the room, and you nodded while joining him on the bed, snuggling up to his side. "What was tonight's bedtime story?"

You smiled to yourself, letting your head rest in the crook of his neck, "It was about the day pink met green. Also known as the best day of my life."
