Protect - Liam Imagine

A/n: This is roughly based off that scene in the most recent episode of Teen Wolf (ep. 7), if you've seen it you'll understand what I'm talking about, if not, don't stress, you'll still understand whats going on! (And don't worry, there aren't any spoilers!)

I apologize this was up so late, I was writing and then a member from a band I love replied to my tweet and I had to take a ten minute break to calm down because I was so excited omg

* * *

"Liam where are we going?"

You glanced around at the car full of your friends, Scott and Stiles in the front while Lydia was sitting beside you, then to your boyfriend Liam who was sitting to the other side of you.

"To the school," He answered, taking a hold of your shaking hand. You were still yet to figure out if you were shaking due to fear, or the fact that you were simply cold, but when Liam held it just that little bit tighter, you knew that he must have smelt the fear on you. "I'm, we're, not going to let anything happen to you, I promise."

You nodded at him, believing every word that passed his lips. After Scott and Liam had told you that things called 'The Dread Doctors' were after you for a reason they were still trying to figure out, you hadn't exactly had any other choice but to trust what they were telling you, there was no way you were letting them use you as one of their little experiments.

By the time Stiles pulled up to the school it already was well past midnight, and you could feel your eyelids growing heavy, but you couldn't bring yourself to let yourself fully close them in the fear that one of the doctors might turn up and kill you.

When Stiles parked his Jeep, everyone began to pile out and began to make their way into the school, you sticking by Liam's side until you made it into the locker rooms where Liam urged you to rest against one of the lockers.

You were hesitant, but you eventually gave in and slumped down against a locker, pressing your back against the cool metal. You let out a disapproving whine when Liam moved to walk away from you, "Please, stay with me?"

You looked up at him with pleading eyes, and eventually he gave in and moved so he could sit beside you on the ground.

"Come here," He mumbled, wrapping an arm around your shoulders before pulling you into his side, letting you rest your head against his shoulder. Finally you felt as though you were safe enough to fully close your eyes, feeling warm and protected in the arms of Liam.

Eventually you had slipped into deep sleep, Liam happily supporting your weight against him even if his arm was kind of going numb from being stuck between the lockers and your back.

There was a sudden clash sounding through the halls, the sound ringing through the locker room. Liam immediately stiffened in fear, suddenly beginning to second guess himself. What if he couldn't protect you from the doctors?

He pushed the thought from his mind with the shake of his head, then looked up at Scott and Stiles, "Let me go check it out. Stiles, you stay with (Y/n)."

"Are you sure?" Scott raised his eyebrows at Liam. "You don't want to stay with her?"

"I'd rather try to stop whatever is out there from getting in here, rather than sit here helpless. Just someone come here and sit with her."

Stiles made his way over to your sleeping body while Liam carefully removed himself from you, Stiles immediately replacing his spot without disturbing your sleeping state.

"I'm coming with you." Scott spoke up, and Liam nodded at him, realizing that Scott probably wouldn't take no for an answer right now. Lydia stood by the door, watching the two boys disappear down the hall, eventually going out of sight.

Minutes later you began to stir against Stiles' side, your eyes cracking open while you let out a groan. You glanced up at Stiles, furrowing your eyebrows when you realized you were no longer resting against your boyfriend, "Where's Liam?"

Just as the words passed your lips, Lydia let out a gasp while Scott and Liam stumbled back into the room, blood covering parts of their faces.

"They're coming." One of them gasped out, and both Stiles and yourself scrambled to your feet. Liam rushed over to you, pushing you behind him while to stood in front of you, shoulders heaving with each breath he took.

Eventually all four of your friends were crowded around you, determined to not let anything happen to you. It was comforting, knowing that you had people in your life who were willing to protect you from Dread Doctors, but what was even more comforting was the grasp Liam had on your hand.

Suddenly, three Doctors stamped their way into the locker room, one in front while two others trailed closely behind. They continued like this, right up until they were all standing in front of the group of you.

"Her condition is improving." One of them suddenly spoke, computerized and all around bone chilling.

"What are you talking about?" Liam immediately growled, "She isn't a supernatural creature!"

"Not yet." Another spoke, and that was what sent your blood running cold.

It wasn't like you had a problem with the supernatural, you were dating a werewolf for God sake, it was just that you were perfectly fine being a human being. You were perfectly fine living a life without all the pointed teeth and claws and super strength and heightened smell and incredibly fast healing ability. You were perfectly fine being you; not be transformed into some creature by a group of terrifying masked... men? Things? You honestly had no clue what rested behind the metal masks, and you didn't exactly want to know.

The Doctor that lead the group suddenly launched itself toward Scott, and that's when a fight broke out.

You had cowered down into a corner of the room, tears slipping from your eyes as you sat in fear of what would happen if one of them got their hands on you. You had buried your head into your knees, only looking up again when you heard Liam speak up.

"Stiles, you need to get her out of here!"

You began to shake your head to no one in particular, not wishing to leave without Liam. When you felt a pair of hands on your shoulders, you let out a shriek, pulling away from the touch until you looked up to see Stiles standing over you.

"I don't want to leave him." You gasped out, glancing to Liam who was being pushed up against the wall by one of the Doctors.

"Please, (Y/n), we need to get you out of here. Liam's gonna be fine, I promise. Just please, we need to leave, like now."

You looked up into Stiles' eyes through a blurry vision, nodding sadly at the boy before allowing him to help you to your feet. You hesitated, glancing at your boyfriend briefly to see him swipe the Doctor across the head before Stiles was tugging you out of the room.

-

You sat in Stiles' room, pressed against the headboard of his bed with your knees pulled up to your chest, arms wrapped around your legs while your head rested against your knees.

Stiles was sat at his desk, rocking absentmindedly on the chair while you both waited for some sign of the other three.

It had already been half an hour, and as each minute ticked by you were beginning to grow more and more anxious. The fear of Liam being dead, of any of them being dead, was enough to make you want to start crying again; but you had cried so much earlier you didn't think it was possible to cry anymore.

The sound of the front door opening suddenly rang through the house, and the noise made it feel as though your heart had dropped into your stomach. You leaped off of the bed, sprinting down stairs. Liam, as well as Lydia and Scott, stood in the lounge room, the sight making you let out a cry of relief.

Liam's face was covered in blood and bruises, his clothes were ripped but you didn't care because he was alive, and that was more than you could ever ask for. You began to cry again as you ran to him, colliding with chest as you sobbed into his neck, "Oh my God Liam, I though you were dead. You scared me half to death. Don't ever do that again."

He let out a light laugh, wrapping his arm tightly around your body, "I told you I'd protect you, didn't I?" He pulled away from the embrace, cupping your face with his bruised hands before leaning in and pressing a soft kiss to your lips, "I'd risk my life to protect you, (Y/n)."
