32. Happy birthday!

"Happy birthday!" I yell, waking up my girl in a rush, which cause me to laugh. It's February 20 and my girl is turning sixteen today. I am so happy for her.

"Not now." She grumbles as she drags the duvet over her head.

"But it's your birthday, baby." I grin and lay over her in the bed. Dragging down the duvet and plant a kiss on the back of her head.

"Riley, get your butt out of the bed." I chuckle, shaking her so she won't fall asleep.

"Leave me alone." She groans as she turns around, which causes me to lay underneath her and she with her back on me. I wrap my arms around her stomach and lean forward to kiss her cheek.

"I love you, grumpy." I laugh softly and to get a light slap on the cheek.

"Now you know how I feel when you wake up first." I tell her and start tickling her.

"Stop!" She shouts, rolling away from me and I grab her before she can fall down on the floor.

"Careful." I smile, holding onto her and kiss her cheek again.

"Your parents are waiting for you to come down." I whisper in her ear, but she shakes her head.

"They can wait a little longer." She yawns taking my arm so she can hold my hand in hers.

"Babe, come on." I whine, but she just ignores me. I roll my eyes as I get out of the bed, watching her just lying there with her eyes closed and trying to sleep again. I pull the duvet of her and take her into my arms.

"Drew!" She shouts and I start walking with her downstairs.

"This is what happens when you do not move your butt." I laugh as I reach the last step of the stairs and find my way into the living room. Where Riley's parents are waiting for us.

"Here she is." I grin as I watch Andi and Devin's amused faces.

"No, she is not." Riley argues as she tries to fight her way out of my arms. I almost dropped her, but I lay my girl down on the couch. She sits up with an angry sigh as she crosses her arms over her chest and pout. There can't be anyone as adorable as she can when she is furious.

"Don't be in such a bad mood, honey." Andi says, trying to hide her laugh. I sit down next to my girl and right away, she lays her head on my lap.

"You can't sleep." I chuckle as I stroke her in her hair.

"I am so tired, Drew." She yawns.

"Fine, I let you sleep for a little while." I say, giving into my Riley's cuteness.

"Best birthday present ever." She snorts and turns around, burying her face in my sweater. I love this girl more than anything and now there are only months until I have to move away from her.

I don't want to at all, but I have to go to college. My wish has always been to work with dad and his company, since I was little. Now it just hurts to know that I am going to see my girl less.

That I am going to sleep without her, not hearing her soft voice and most of all, looking into her beautiful eyes. Oh, and then there are the dimples. Her lovely dimples.

The only thing I hope for is that this is not going to break. I don't want to lose her just because of some distance. It would be a cliche thing to end our relationship because of that and I don't want this to be one of them.

Riley means so much to me and I would not let something so important slip between my fingers. It would be the most stupid mistake I would ever do.
