37. I missed you

I left college earlier, well just say I skipped, but it doesn't matter. I just really need to see my girl.

She doesn't even know that I am coming to pick her up. I sent Andi a message, asking if it was okay that, I do and she said it was all green light. All I need to do now is to park the car. There are so many freaking cars. Don't people have legs to use today?

I find a narrow place and sneak in. Still, I have time to look for her classroom. Andi said she had English, so I just need to find the right room. It's not that long since I was here. Can't forget it that fast.

I step into the familiar door and stumble down the hallway as I look around. Five doors down and I see the right door. I sit down with my back against the wall, waiting for her to come out. It's not long, just a couple of minutes.

I hope we can visit our friends this weekend. I miss them as well. Didn't just move away from my girlfriend, my friends and my family. It really is hard to be away from all of them. Is it weird that I miss Becca and Olive's fighting? Maybe not, I don't know.

The door opens and hurry up on my legs, brushing the dirt off my pants. I watch student after student step out the door. I know Riley goes out last, so she won't trip or step on anyone.

Finally, I see her and as always so beautiful. Just like the first day, I saw her. I was about to step forward, but then a girl push to the side and hit Riley, so she drops her books on the floor. She said she was sorry, but she smiled and laughed with her friends.

I swallow hard as I watch Riley searching for her books on the floor. I find my way over to her and bend down next to her. She doesn't say anything. Riley knows clearly that I am here. She knows me too well. I take her books out of her hands and stand up next to her. I might not see her eyes, but I know she is not okay. I just wonder how long this has been going on.

"Are you okay?" I ask and she nods. She wraps her hand around my arm and I guide the way out to my car. I help her inside and then I get into the front seat.

The silence in the car is awful. I didn't expect my arrival to be so complicated, but I guess quietness is what Riley needs right now. I smile as I feel her warm hand over mine. Her hand is so warm and nice. I take it up and plant a long kiss on her hand.

I stop the car in the driveway of Riley's house.

"Do you want to talk about it?" I ask, but she shakes her head.

"Are you okay?" I wonder and she nods, but it's not like I believe that she is, because obviously she is not.

"How many times has it happened?" I question and now she doesn't answer. I take that as a sign. I rub my face with my palms with a big sigh.

"Are you going to talk to me?" I ask, but only silence.

"Okay, let's just get inside." I say and get out of the car. I was about to offer Riley help, but she ignores me. Before I know it, she steps in the door and move up the stairs, leaving me, and the books downstairs.

This is what I didn't expect. I left college earlier so I could see that big grin across her face, to get a big hug and a lovely kiss, but no.

"Oh, hi Drew." Andi smiles as she sees me.

"Did you pick up Riley?" She asks and I nod.

"Yeah, she just went upstairs. Um, I gonna go up." I tell her awkwardly and find my way up to my girl's room. She is laying in the bed with the duvet over her head. I sit down next to her on the soft bed and lay the books on the floor.

"Riley, come on." I say dragging the cover of her to see her beautiful face.

"Why won't you talk to me?" I ask her and like usual she keeps her mouth shut.

"Okay." I breathe and just lay down next to her. I invite her to rest on my shoulder and she accepts. Then I put my lips on her forehead to give her a light kiss.

"I missed you." I whisper.

"I missed you too." She mumbles half asleep.
