9. DREW!

"Hey, you." I smile as I stand behind Riley. She turns around from her locker.

"Hi, Drew." She smiles back.

"Do you want to eat lunch with us?" I wonder and as always, I almost stand on my toes in.

"Of course." She smiles and then reach her hand out to take my arm. We walk together into the lunchroom and I watch her sit down before I do.

"Hi, guys." Hannah grin as she sits down in front of us. I take out my lunch from my bag. Today I made my sandwich and I made two. Hannah watches me with widened eyes as she sees what I have with me.

"No, it's not for you," I grin, reaching out my tongue to tease her .

"It's for Riley and me." I smile and the younger girl turns to me, seeming confused, I think.

"Oh, sorry, I made sandwiches for you and me." I say and I take her hand in mine to give it to her.

"Thank you." She says grateful.

"I am so jealous right now." Hannah mutters and I wink to her as I start eating.

"It's very good." Riley tells me, and Hannah is almost drooling.

"I'm glad you like it..."

"Oli, leave me alone!" Becca yells as she comes sitting next to me as always and Olivia with Hannah.

"Hi you guys." Olive tries to smile as she looks at us, as if nothing is wrong.

"What is it now?" Hannah asks as we all look at grumpy Becca.

"Nothing." Olivia mumbles and start eating her own food. They are just sitting in silence, both of them. Hannah and I look at each other and just shrug it off.

"How has your day been, Riley?" I ask as I turn to look at her. She just finished her food that I made for her.

"It's been okay. Just the teachers that can't seem to help me the right way." She shrugs and I can see that it sadness her.

"Maybe I can help you?" I offer, but she just shakes her head.

"Riley, if you struggle, then I can help you." I say, seriously.

"Fine." By the sound of her voice she does not want to talk about it right now, so I just let it go.     I wonder what is wrong.

"Can I drive you home today as well?" I ask hopefully. She smiles finally as she nods.

"Okay, good and tell your parents that you will come home a little late."

"Why?" She asks, confused, and I can't hide my smile.

"It's a secret." I tell her, she seems skeptical, but nods. Then look around out table, watching all of my friends stare at me, strangely. I feel my cheeks turn red, but concentrate on my food.

"I'll calm them now." She smiles and I watch her take out her cane and then step away. I look at her until she steps out the door, just to make sure she is okay.

"So, I guess you are not going to fail after all."

"Hmm?" I say as I turn to Hannah.

"Fail what?" I ask, but she just waves me off with a big grin across her face. I watch all of them confused for a moment, but then just shake it off.

I can't wait until Riley is finished with her last class for today, so I can take her to her surprise. I was up almost all night just thinking about it and got more excited with every second that passed.

"Are you ready?" I ask as I meet Riley in the hallway after her class.

"Yes" She smiles and nods happily.

"Good." I say and I take her hand and place it a little over my elbow. Then she follows me outside to the car.

"What are going to do?" She asks, laughing a little as she sits into the car.

"You have to wait." I grin so excited as I close the door and run over to my side and sit in.

"Drew." She whine and I chuckle as I start driving.

"No, you have to wait." I smile, feeling my heart beat very fast in my chest.

"Fine." She laughs, giving in to my stubbornness. Then I feel her hand on mine. I smile of her warmth and the fact that she wants to hold my hand.

We drive for about twenty minutes until we come there. The whole way I could feel how nervous she was, her hand was clammy, and I noticed her leg was shaking a little.

Then I stop the car on an old parking lot that is not in use anymore, because the football pitch it belongs to is gone now.

"Okay, just wait." I say as I step out of the car, then rush over to her side to open her door.

"Where are we going?" She asks, confused but still smile as I help her out of the car.

"We are not going anywhere," I tell her as I lead her over to the driver seat.

"You are going to drive." I smile, but then she stops in her tracks.
"Are you serious?" She asks almost shocked.

"Yeah, I wasn't kidding," I chuckle.

"But what I am going to do now is sit in and then you come into my lap. Is that okay?" I wonder, and she nods, but I can feel her hand is shaking.

"It will be fine." I promise her softly, before I sit in and then she comes onto my lap.

"Okay," I breathe and then take her hands to lay them on the steering wheel.

"This is what we use to turn the car," I move her hands along with mine to show her.

"You got it?" I ask and she nods.

"Good then we need to use your feet, move your left foot to the left do you feel that pedal? I ask

"Yeah?"

"That's the clutch, you can just push it all the way down," I watch her do so.

"Okay, great, and then move your right foot, wait," I say as I decide to just move her leg to lay it on the break so she do not touch the gas pedal.

"That is the break, okay?" She nods to my words.

"Good, then move that foot to the right that is the gas pedal. What you are going to do now is that you let go of the clutch lightly as you push the gas in." I explain her. She nods nervously.

"There is just you and me here, no one around, except birds, but I don't think you can hit them." I chuckle and listen to her laugh.

"Are you ready?" I ask.

"I think so." She answers.

"Okay, remember to be careful, just feel it through." Which she always have to do, so I guess she can do this just fine.

After three attempts she is finally driving, very slowly. I smile as I rest my cheek on her shoulder, and then move my hands of hers.

"No, no what are you doing!" She says worried.

"It's okay, you are doing fine." I smile proudly of her and hold her around the waist.

"Now you need to turn to the right." I tell her and watch her swing.

"A little more, there you go." I put my foot over hers on the gas and push.

"DREW!" She shouts in fear, while I am laughing.

"It's okay." I chuckle and take my foot of hers. I feel her breathe out. I bury my nose on her shoulder, breathing in her amazing, sweet smell.

"Do you want to go faster?" I wonder.

"I don't think I can do that." She says a little scared.

"It's okay, I can shift gear and steer with you, just push she gas more." She do as I say and I take her hand laying it over the gear and we move it together to the second gear.

"That's good." I say as I place her hand back on the wheel and lay my hands over hers. We just drive around and I am enjoying this at the fullest.

I mean, a gorgeous girl is sitting on my lap. I can breathe in her amazing scent and feel her hands under my own, so soft.

I watch the girl I have a weak heart for coming out of the car and I take her hand in mine. Then I follow her up to her house. It's very late and I hope her parents are not going to kill me. Riley really liked to drive. She didn't want it to end like at all. It's good that it's Friday.

"Mom!" She shout as we step in the door.

"Yes." I chuckle lightly as both of her moms answered at the same time. Then I see both of them coming into the living room in worry, each of them placing a hand on her arms, but Riley holds them both in a hug. I smile, of the nice view.

"Are you okay?" Devin wonders.

"Y-yeah," I narrow my eyes as it heard as if Riley was crying.

"I drove a car today." She says happily, and I take a deep breath of relief, but shrink as I see the confusions on her parent's faces.

"You what?" Andi asks stunned and both of them are watching me. I smile shyly, not sure what to do. Then Riley explains what we had been doing all day, but not long after she disappears into the bathroom.

Leaving me alone with her parents. Oh shit, but to my surprise both of them are smiling to me, which turns my cheeks warm.

"You let her drive?" Devin asks me, finally someone that is speaking.

"Yeah," I shrug.

"It was totally fine. She don't really have to see, when I can see for her." I smile lightly by the warm memories from today. I think this, is one of the best days I have ever had. I thought for sure they were both going to freak out, but Devin and Andi took it pretty nice after all.

It might have been how happy Riley sounded. She comes out of the bathroom and I just can't keep my eyes off her. She is just so beautiful, as if I was looking at the sunrise or the dawn. I wake up as Devin clear her throat, and I feel my cheeks on fire again. I am making a fool out of myself as always.

"I think I should go home." I smile to all of them.

"I talk to you later, Riley." I tell her and she says goodbye to me before I step out the door. I knew this was going to be a good day.

I remember the told me that she enjoyed car drives. Today she was the one driving the car herself. I am glad I could make her happy by such a little gesture.
