39. Don't apologize to me!

We find our way up to the house and it is so loud. The music and the people shouting. I have been to my share of parties, but this is just overrated. It's just too much as if they are trying too hard.

"How are we even supposed to get in the door." Hannah almost had to yell over the sound. It's so crowded. Julia must be a very popular girl and I am going to show her how fun it is to be popular.

"Move!" Becca shouts and push through everyone, while the three of us are watching her with our mouths wide open.

"Can't believe that is my girlfriend." Olive says out of the blue.

"Are you coming or what?" Becca yells and without thinking, we all follow right away. Olivia grabs Becca's hand in hers, kinda proud of her girlfriend.

"Let's split up and look around." Becca says and we all nod. Hannah goes with me and we search around the first floor, while Becca and Olivia look upstairs. The house is so freaking big that I might even get lost in here.

She is not in the living room where hundreds of people it looks like are dancing. It's so narrow in here that you literally have to push them to get through. I don't have all day to look for Julia. I need to get back to Riley soon.

I didn't come back home to see my girl being bullied by Becca's nightmare of a neighbor. So being here is not what I imagined. And a girlfriend who doesn't want to talk to me, which is all Julia's fault.

We look in the kitchen, but she is not there either. Just some idiots taking shots, trying to impress stupid girls, who only thinks about what is happening right now. Can't believe this was me not long ago. Just having fun with no sense of direction.

"Maybe out in the back?" Hannah suggest and I nod. We look for the back door and stumble outside. There is a huge pool with lots of other teens, hitting some beach ball to each other. Then there she is standing there next to this bar in this fancy dress with her new curly hair. She looks like a queen, acts like a queen, because she knows she is. There doesn't exist anyone more annoying than people like that.

"That is her." I point at the brown haired girl, so Hannah knows which girl Hannah is.

"Okay, I send Becca a text." She says and pick out her phone.

"I go over there." I tell her, she seems a bit skeptical, but I just step over to the bar. I reach out for the whisky bottle and fill a glass that stands on the counter. It's been a while since I tasted whisky, but this one is expansive. I take a sip and enjoy it fully.

"Good, isn't it?" I turn to the voice and stare right into the queen's eyes and I just nod. I needed that drink.

"I haven't seen you before." She tells me and I lean back uncomfortable as she just moved closer to take a look at me.

"I'm Julia," She reach out her hand and I just look at. I am not shaking her hand. She moves her hand back, seeming very uncomfortable.

"Who are you?" She asks me.

"Drew." I just answer and she nods, awkwardly.

"Do you go to school here?" She wonder and I shake my head.

"College." I tell her and her eyes widen.

"What does a college girl here?" She questions and I really hope she is going to love what my answer is.

"I am here, because some kind of a rich kid pushed my girl to the floor." I say, tapping my finger on the bar, very impatient. Julia doesn't seem to follow me.

"What girl?" She asks now, crossing her arms, seeming offended.

"Riley." I tell her, but she shakes her head and now I can't control my fury anymore.

"You pushed my girlfriend to the floor!" I shout right in her face, making her take a step back, but I am not done.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" I yell and I see my friends in the corner of my eye, coming towards me.

"I don't even know what you are talking about." She explains, but I shake my head. She is stupid, but not that stupid.

"Riley, my girlfriend." I say and push her by the shoulders enough to make her take another step back.

"You made her fall to the ground today!" I repeat myself.

"The blind girl?" She questions and I can't help myself when I push her once more.

"Her name is Riley." I tell her gritting my teeth in fury.

"Okay." She raises her hands as if she surrenders.

"I'm sorry." Julia says, but I shake my head.

"Don't apologize to me! When you go to school on Monday, you apologize to Riley and you stay away from her." I warn her and she nods. I can see all the shame on her face.

"And if I see or hear anything about you touching her. Then I will make you regret it." I tell her and push her one last time. My eyes widen with shock that I just made her fall into the pool. My friends come in next to me with no words.

"I didn't mean to do that." I tell them all, watching Julia struggle to get back on land again.

"She deserved it." Becca says and we all turn out heads in her direction.

"Babe, come on." Olive has always been the one with pity.

"She did." Becca shrugs and it makes Olivia rolls her eyes.

"I don't know about you guys, but I am not staying." I tell them, snapping up the whisky bottle on the bar. Hannah looks at me strangely.

"I need it to calm myself down." I tell her and hand her my keys to drive.

Happy New year!
Another year for good choices and good mistakes : p But most of all books to write and books to read.
