Prison Cell(Wanda Maximoff x fem!reader)

Going to prison is bad. Being locked in a very high security prison is worse. Being locked in a high security prison with a panicking Wanda is the worst. You could feel her shaking next to you so you reached over and took her hand in yours. "It's okay, Wanda," you whispered to her. She looked at you and you could see the fear in her eyes. "Steve will get us out. You know he won't leave us here."

Even though they normally would, your words of comfort did nothing to calm the brunette. You assumed her mind was returning to her time with HYDRA where she was locked away. Sighing, you rested your forehead and against her temple and continued to try and soothe her. Your free hand traveled to her hair. You ran your fingers through her hair, hoping it would calm her down if only a little bit.

The two of you stayed that way until the jet you were in landed inside the floating prison. One of the guards grabbed your arm, hoisting you up and away from Wanda. They immediately strapped Wanda in a straightjacket and placed a collar around her neck, one you assumed would at least dampen her powers. Wanda began to struggle, but you gave her a look, telling her to stop. The two of you were close enough that Wanda could tell what you were thinking without reading your mind.

You and Wanda were placed in separate, but adjacent cells. "Y/N, what are we going to do?" Wanda's soft voice floated over to you. "We'll be okay, Wanda. We just have to be patient." You weren't sure who you were trying to reassure. Wanda or yourself. "I'm scared," she admitted and you wanted to hug her. "I am too, but I know we'll get out of here eventually." You heard Wanda sigh. "Can you talk to me? My mind is so quiet. I don't like it."

You spent the rest of the day and night talking to Wanda until you both fell asleep. As you drifted off, you faintly heard Sam whisper, "Finally." Clint chuckled softly. "Leave them alone, Wilson. They're scared and alone." Sam rolled his eyes. "And? That doesn't mean the rest of us have to go without sleep." Another laugh from Clint. "Then go to sleep now." Sam grumbled but laid down to go to sleep.

"Y/N?" You opened your eyes sometime later when you heard Wanda softly calling your name. You groaned as you sat up and stretched your stiff muscles. "Yeah?" The two of you struck up another conversation and that's what the others woke up to. "Are you ladies at it again?" Scott asked, rubbing his eyes. You rolled your eyes. "We are trying to keep ourselves from going crazy."

"Now you leave them be," Clint scolded, cutting off Scott's argument. "I swear, if the two of you don't get together when we get out of here, I'm gonna be the one that goes crazy," Sam muttered, but it echoed through the prison anyway. You felt your face heat up and cleared your throat. Not like you didn't have feelings for Wanda already, but Sam bringing it up was just embarrassing. "I think we should focus on getting out of here first," you said, turning away from the glass to hide your discomfort at the conversation.

You had no idea how long you were stuck in that prison, but held onto hope that Steve would come and get you. Steve didn't disappoint. One night, you were talking with Wanda again when the lights in the prison turned off. Your brows furrowed until you saw Steve appear from the darkness. You grinned and practically leapt out of the cell when the door was open.

Before Steve could say anything, you were in Wanda's cell, releasing her from her collar and jacket. Her shaky arms circled around you almost immediately. "Come on, lovebirds. We've only got a few minutes to get out of here!" Clint urged. You took Wanda's hand and pulled her behind you out to where your transportation was waiting. "Where are we going?" Wanda asked you quietly. You shrugged. "I'm not sure, but wherever it is, we'll be okay. We've got each other." You threw you arm around Wanda's shoulders and kissed her temple.
