Honestly, when you first met Bucky, it was love at first sight. The two of you instantly clicked much to Steve's delight. It took weeks for Bucky to talk to you and months for him to touch you outside of training. He had been afraid of his own mind, but you slowly broke down his walls and the two of you started dating. No one really thought it would last as long as it did.

Bucky ran his hands through his long hair. He was pacing in your shared room, waiting for you to come back. You'd been together for a couple years now and Bucky knew it was time. After everything the two of you had been through, Bucky knew that he couldn't wait any longer. Since joining the Avengers, both of you had numerous near-death experiences, been kidnapped and even fought with one another trying to keep each other safe. Now, Bucky new he didn't want to be without you ever again.

You came back in the room, struggling to maneuver on crutches you were being forced to use. Bucky was immediately at you side. You tried to brush him off at first. You were still angry with him. "Come on, Doll. Please let me help," he practically begged and you couldn't resist the puppy dog pout. You knew Bucky felt bad for yelling at you when you got hurt. You couldn't blame him. It was your carelessness that had be the cause.

"I know you're angry with me, Y/N and you probably don't want to talk to me, but there's something I need to ask you," Bucky started, but you held up a hand. "Bucky, after everything we've been through, who do I always come back to? Who's always there for me, to hold me and tell me everything will be alright? You are. If I left after every fight, I would have missed the last couple of years." Bucky's eyes welled with tears as you spoke and he couldn't hold back anymore.

"Marry me, Y/N." You blinked rapidly, just staring for a moment. That wasn't exactly what you were expecting when you came back into the room. "What?" Bucky took a deep breath and reiterated what you had just said to him about always being there and then added, "I want to kiss you good night every night for the rest of our lives. I want to be the one you come to when things get bad and I want to be the one you have a future with." You nodded, unable to form words and did your best to wrap your arms around him, dropping your crutches in the process. Bucky was right there to hold you up, just the way he always did.

Sixth months later, you walked down the aisle to stand next to Bucky. The two of you said your vows to always love one another, to always dream of one another and to always kiss each other goodnight, no matter what happened. Even after all that time, Bucky was still certain that you were the one.
