Chapter 22

Naturally, Magdalena had made Katrina and Deckard watch the baby until they could get it back to Dom, Owen already long gone after an enjoyable dinner with his eldest siblings and god only knew what he was up to now. But the upside was that he checked in every few days, with Katrina at least, only speaking to Deckard if he was around, but the brother's relationship was on the mend.

The few nights they'd had with the baby, Marcos, was the most domestic time the couple had ever had as they hid in one of their many safehouses.

They'd initially set up a crib for him in their room, but eventually just let him sleep on the bed with them, Deckard on one side and Katrina on the other, Marcos in the middle.

Deckard had never really realised how much he liked motherhood on Katrina until he saw it.

She never complained about the late nights or the crying or the dirty diapers, she embraced it all with a smile, and that, in turn, made him smile.

It was also the same the other way around.

It felt like a dream for Katrina to wake up and head into the kitchen to see Deckard making breakfast with the baby clutched to his chest, him talking to Marcos about nothing at all as he worked.

Yeah, they were definitely making some of those soon.

Now, they were heading to this little rooftop party that Dom and Letty were hosting in New York, to give him his son back now that things had calmed down.

Deckard held the carrier filled with all the things they'd gotten to take care of Marcos in the last few days, diapers, clothes, a few toys, baby food.

Katrina was holding the baby as Deckard opened the door for her and all eyes fell on them as they approached Dom.

"What made you think we'd do it?" Deckard asked Dom, taking his attention off the boy in Katrina's arms for a minute, Ramsey and Tej moving over to say hello, the boy gurgling in her arms as they all couldn't help but smile.

"Brotherhood. I saw that look you gave Cipher, knew you wanted revenge. Not just for Owen but for Katrina too. Glad I did it."

The boys shook hands, surprising everyone watching.

"I can't believe you went to see my mother," Deckard said to Dom, both of them laughing before Dom's eyes returned to his son.

"Hey, Kats," Deckard called her over and Ramsey and Tej moved out of the way as Katrina came over to Dom, meeting his eyes as she handed over his son.

"Thank you, Katrina," he said to her, a massive smile on his face as he was reunited with his son and Katrina gave him a smirk.

"See you around, Toretto."

As she took Deckard's hand and rested her head on his shoulder and as they walked, she asked, "So, now that we're no longer running from the government, where to now?"

Deckard pretended to think about it for a second as they neared his car, a Mercedes SUV that they'd gotten just so they could drive with the baby seeing as all their other cars were two-seater supercars.

"Wherever you want," Deckard said as he held her hips, her back leaning against the car as she looped her hands around his neck.

"How about we go home? Back to England? We've never really stayed for more than a few days since the hit order was put on you and Hattie owes me a shopping trip anyway."

"Sounds perfect. Let's go home."

And their lips met.
