Chapter 14

Frank had just finished briefing Toretto's team and explaining that he'd acquired two sets of extra hands, their cue as he pressed the button that allowed the glass door to open, Deckard holding it open for Katrina who walked in first.

It had been some of the best hours of their life as they dined on fine cuisine in a hot bubble bath with red wine, before using the remaining time to heat up the bedroom. And after another quick shower, Deckard had dressed in his normal suit and Katrina had gone for a more casual outfit. Her hair was in a half updo, lips painted red as her knee-high heeled boots clicked on the floors, jeans tucked into them and one of Deckard's long-sleeved grey tops that fit her enough to show off her figure but was still oversized on her body.

But the second they entered the room Hobbs stood up, eyes flitting between both of them but mostly resting on Deckard.

"Ah, my day just got a whole hell of a lot better," Hobbs commented. "Mr Nobody, you wanna tell me why you just put me in a room with this tea-and-crumpets eating, criminal sumbitch, and his psychotic wife?" he asked to Frank who was also standing, his protégé next to him, slightly scared at the room full of dangerous people, but his eyes stayed on Deckard.

"Frank and I have similar interests. And he, Decks and I are of mutual use to one another because of that," Katrina explained, mostly to the rest of Toretto's team seeing as Hobbs was still staring at Deckard, ignoring her.

"What a big mouth on a small head, coming from prisoner 6753," Deckard spat at Hobbs.

"Don't think we've forgotten everything that you've done," Letty said to Deckard.

"Don't think we've forgotten everything that you've done," Katrina fired back at the brunette, Deckard's hand on her shoulder.

"We are not teaming up with them!" Tej said as he stood next to Letty.

"This bitch shot me! Twice!" Roman complained and Katrina glared at him with a sarcastic smile on her lips.

"Call me bitch one more time and I won't need a gun to make you bleed," she threatened, and Roman's eyes flickered with fear.

"Let's get one thing clear. We ain't on your team. I don't care about you, your crew or your little family. We're here for Cipher," Deckard explained.

"What are you gonna do, apply for a job? Head asshole?" Hobbs asked, going back to staring at Deckard.

"You fit that title all too well, Hercules," Katrina smiled sarcastically at him as Deckard moved in front of her, closer to the table that separated him from Hobbs.

"You know, I think that tight t-shirt is cutting off the circulation to your brain. You should get a bigger size. Cipher came to me first. Wanted me to steal Nightshade for her. When I said no, she tried going after my wife, only to go after my brother when she failed," Deckard explained as he walked around the table to meet Hobbs.

But Katrina got in the middle, sick of this male pissing contest.

"Alright boys, you're both pretty. Now calm down before I knock you both down a couple pegs, starting with you Hercules," she said to Hobbs who started at her and she bounced her eyebrows at him in challenge.

"Ah, yes, brother Owen. Who could forget him, huh?" Frank said as he joined Katrina in between the boys, pressing a button on a remote that brought up Owen's picture on a screen at the other end of the table.

"Former hell-raiser and former guest at a nasty little black site prison that can easily be reversed," he added, with a pointed look at Shaw, who was quiet as his wife spoke.

"Cipher corrupted him and left him for dead. So, if we get a shot to take her down, believe us, Frankie, we're taking it."

Frank's protege had a hand on his sidearm as Hobbs and Shaw got in each other's faces again.

"You really think that little thing is going to make a difference against those two, considering I could probably disarm you with my eyes closed?" she said, and he dropped his hand and tightened his tie, Roman mocking the movement that made Katrina smirked as she turned to where Frank was trying to stop the boys from fighting.

"The fastest way to find Cipher is through Toretto. Now asides from myself there are only two men in the world that have ever managed to actually track him down with any success. And guess what, they're both standing right in front of me. So, like it or not, you two are going to work together."

"I take offence to that Frank," Katrina said as she sat on the table, one foot resting on an empty chair as Roman and Frank's protege couldn't take their eyes off her. "I've found him before. And had you told me that's what you wanted, I could have had his location within a few seconds."

Before anyone could probe her to explain further, Roman interrupted.

"Am I the only one seeing this?" he asked, everybody except Katrina standing now.

"This ought to be good," protege said, Roman gesturing him to shut up.

"Use God's Eye. We put our lives on the line, running around the world trying to figure this thing out. It can find anybody, right?"

"Almost anybody," Shaw interrupted as he placed his hand back on Katrina's shoulder, the woman smiling wickedly as he rubbed his hand on her arm.

"Roman, that is a great idea," Frank said sarcastically as he clapped his hands together.

"Did you hear that? 'Great idea.' No, no, no, don't tune it out," he bragged to Ramsey, trying to impress the girl.

"Mr Nobody, let's fire it up huh?" Hobbs said.

Katrina, Deckard and Frank sat in the conference room, with a smirk as the rest of them fired up God's Eye, only to find a match for Dom in every major city on the globe.

Tej and Ramsey were then able to reverse trace the signal of where Toretto was when they finally landed on one building, Frank laughing.

"That's funny," he said.

"Why?" Katrina asked for everyone, and you could practically smell the anxiety in the room.

"Because that's here."

As if on cue, the steel double doors exploded.
