Chapter 43

"SOMEONE CALL FOR BACK UP!?" Katrina yelled as she pulled up alongside Deckard, Jonah in front of his car as they latched onto the axel and began pulling the helicopter, preventing it from flying away.

"Well, you're a sight for sore eyes," Deckard called to his wife with a smile.

"Reel them in, I'll take care of your tail," she called, and she broke as she waited for Deckard to drive past her and spun her car around to drive her spear into each of those cars one at a time. But the few that got past her were destroyed in No man's land as the barrels exploded out of the earth and the cars crashed.

But they weren't the only things that crashed.

After Katrina had manoeuvred her way through the debris of No man's land, she watched as the helicopter began to crash, Hattie still inside as it fell past the cliff, and then pulled down Deckard's car along with it.

"DECKS!" Katrina screamed as she left her car running and door open and rushed to the edge to observe the crash.

It was quite the ways down and then she had to peer through the rain to see, Brixton alive and well, and he was yelling at two people.

Hobbs and Shaw.

Katrina ran to her car as she readied her repelling line, and one step at a time, she made her way down the cliff.

It seemed to take forever as she made her way down, taking her time in the pouring rain and every so often when she looked down to see if her husband was still alive, she was surprised to watch as he and Hobbs worked together to whale on Brixton.

Katrina landed in the little cove just in time for the timer to hit zero on the extraction machine and for Hattie to spark a small explosion that knocked her already dizzy executioner off his feet before Katrina put two rounds in his skull, having snuck in a single gun and a single clip to Samoa.

"What the bloody hell are you doing? How did you get down here?" Hattie asked as Katrina offered her a hand up from where she lay on the ground, having taken cover from the explosion she'd set off after ripping her arm from the gauntlet, free of the virus.

"Thank you, Katrina, for saving my life. Oh, it wasn't a problem Hattie. I just repelled down an incredibly steep and rocky cliff in the pouring rain while I'm pregnant for fun," Katrina said sarcastically and her sister rolled her eyes before pulling her into a hug.

"I'm glad you're both ok."

"I'm glad you're ok," Katrina said before Hattie went to pick up the vial of Snowflake and they made their way over to the boys who were slightly shocked the see Katrina and worried as they looked at Hattie who only grinned as she held up the vial.

"I got it," she said triumphantly.

"You did it, Hat," Deckard said proudly.

"Never had a doubt," Hobbs added. "Let's get it into safe hands.'

Katrina then pressed her gun into Deckard's hand, her eyes never leaving his as she gave him the choice of what to do next.

Deckard didn't hesitate as he pointed it at Brixton.

"You set me up as a traitor! You turned my own sister against me. Forced me to kill my own brother. You," Deckard spat through the rain.

"And here we are again. Come on! Shaw, compared to the cause, one life doesn't mean anything," Brixton yelled back and Katrina couldn't help but hold one hand to her stomach as she thought about the one life growing inside her, and how that life meant everything to her, and would definitely mean everything to Deckard.

"I don't know what happened to you, Brixton," Deckard admitted. "But you made me kill you once. "I ain't doing it again."

Deckard dropped the gun.

"Brother you may believe in machines, but we believe in people. You may have all the technology in the world. We have heart," Hobbs said. "And no machine will ever beat that."

Brixton stood, Hattie jumping in front of Katrina as they both took a couple steps back.

"So that's how it is?" Brixton said. "It's a hell of a business boys."

And those were his last words before he grunted and fell backwards off the little cliff, his body becoming lost in the waves.

It was then that the helicopter grunted as it sparked to life and a voice filtered out.

"Brixton never really live up to our expectations," the distorted voice said through the speakers. "But you four, you outperformed our analytics. You don't remember me, do you, Hobbs? You will," the voice promised as they all turned to Hobbs who was just looking at the broken speakers.

"It's gonna be a hell of a reunion. You're on our radar now."

"And you're on ours," Hobbs said to the voice, and the helicopter powered down.

Katrina then looked to Deckard.

"Would now be a bad time to tell you that I'm pregnant?"
